The most prestigious award ceremony in Nigeria HEADIES AWARD was heard last night in lagos. Well the social media went agog during the show last night about the audio / video sound of the show.

Not looking at their flaws they did a nice job putting up the award show, this is the 8th year of the headies award. The theme of the year was (STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT) the high point of the show was when modenine was announced as the winner of the lyricist on the roll for the 7th time, beating olamide and boogey to the award, he was displaced by vector tha viper last year.

Seantizle won the NEXT RATED , he beats Burna Boy ,Phyno, Seyi Shay, Dammy Krane to win the award. He was also awarded with a brand new car.

Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Willie Obiano has been declared winner of the disputed governorship election in Anambra State according to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria.

Professor Chukwuemeka Onukogu, the Resident Commissioner of INEC in Anambra state declared in Awka that Mr. Obiano won the election by polling 180,178 votes in 19 local government areas in the state.

The total votes won by the APGA candidates constitutes 25% of the votes in at least 19 LGAs out of the 21 LGAs in the state.

The election results were declared after the completion of today's supplementary elections which was boycotted by major parties that earlier participated in the first ballot.

Naeto C came in the game and took rap to an unprecedented commercial level with Kini Big Deal and his debut album. 3. Phyno
When you rap in a native African language (Igbo) and you are able to deliver it in a polished manner that gets even those who don't understand the words that are coming out of your mouth to not only listen, but wish that they understood your language so that they can experience the entirety of what you are spittin, then you are on your way to greatness. This is one of Phyno's core strengths and it is obvious that he has won the hearts of most music lovers in Nigeria to where his name has to be mentioned whenever rap music is the topic of discussion. His style can easily be exported and liked outside Nigeria.

2. Olamide
Other than his apparent work ethic which is evident in the rate at which he releases music,Olamide’s nonchalant, street flavored and playful delivery of words which surprisingly, typically make sense and rhymes, tend to draw most of us to listen to him; so he has taken care of the attraction factor where most people actually feel the need to listen to his verses all the way through. Digging deeper to his lyrics both in English and Yoruba,Olamideis not much of a storyteller but he is able to make a clear point with strong metaphors, which are difficult to rhyme in Yoruba, and out of this world comparisons that are guaranteed to crack you up.

The Joint Task Force in Kano has arrested a suspected member of the Boko Haram sect at the residence of the son of late former Head of State, Sanni Abacha, Mohammed.

RN gathered that the suspect,who is a domestic aide of Abacha, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon by a combined team of JTF men, who stormed Mohammed's Government Reserved Area residence in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

A source said that a suspected member of the sect earlier arrested in Borno State led the team of security operatives to the residence.

It was gathered that the security operatives got to Mohammed's residence while the residents were observing prayers, and waited for them to finish their prayers before making the arrest.

According to the source, the security operatives asked residents to lie down and then brought out the suspected Boko Haram member, who was in their custody, to identify the domestic aide out of the residents.

The suspected sect member, who led JTF to Mohammed's residence was said to be in handcuffs, but while the identification process was ongoing, the domestic aide reportedly tried to escape by attempting to jump over the fence. His move was, however, not successful as he was apprehended by the security operatives.

At the time of writing this report, the name of the suspect had yet to be disclosed; eventhough, the JTF confirmed the incident to Reportnaija

Hell was let loose at Umualianya kindred Umumpe, Umuevu Okirika-Nweke in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA of Imo State last Monday when a man, Mr Mathias Nwoko and his female Cousin, Angela Ihuoma Anyanwu, met their untimely death while making love to each other.

Sources in the community told 247ureports.com that the late Mathias, 45, had returned home from his Onitsha base to attend the priestly ordination of his kinsman, Rev. Fr. Anayochukwu Onuoha, held at Mater Dei Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State last Saturday June 20 2013.

It was learnt that all through the ordination ceremony, Mathias and the late Angela were literally tied to each other, with the latter taking the front seat of the former’s jeep.

Their entanglement was said to have continued the next day, Sunday, during the ceremony marking the first Holy and Thanksgiving Mass at Holy Ghost Parish, Umuevu Okirika-Nweke.

The deceased were also seen together at the ordination reception and later at the compound of the new priest where they were dancing to the music coming from Mathias’ car’s loudspeakers, while he occasionally was shooting gunshots from his pump action gun as Angela fed him with cartridges.

Interestingly, the deceased cousins were among family members who received prayers from the new priest, who earlier enjoined the people of the community to shun hypocrisy, atrocities and other iniquities if they must avoid God’s anger.

The late Mathias who was said to have been married for 13 years without any child, however, returned home with a young girl as his fiancée who he left in the house.

It was gathered that while the fiancée was home watching videos and waiting for Mathias, he only returned around 11pm and told her to go to sleep while he collected torchlight to see Angela off to her house.

But that was not to be as the duo diverted to Mathias’ semi-completed building.

Worried by her daughter’s non arrival to the house, Angela’s mother called her phone line but Mathias was said to have answered the phone telling the woman that her daughter was with him.

Also, alarmed by Mathias’ absence in the house up till Monday morning, his fiancée began to look for him within the house and was shocked to have stumbled on the naked but entangled bodies locked in death.

She immediately alerted Mathias’ family members who could not believe their eyes. Also, Angela’s mother who was returning from Morning mass was simply speechless at the sight of the deceased.

The lady who was on top of the man had her blouse on but naked from the waist region while the man had his singlet on his neck. The two were dead.

Their bodies were removed and deposited at Holy Rosary Hospital, Ogbor Nguru in Aboh Mbaise LGA.

When contacted, the state police public relations officer (PPRO), Mrs Joy Elemoko, promised to call back to inform our reporter about the outcome of police investigation.

The issue surrounding the song. Blackface was a member of Plantashun Boiz and Idibia was also part of it. He claims both of them had written song together but he has not yet received financial benefits for his work officially.

Though he was little upset over the same, when asked he said it doesn’t make much difference. He argued he was still a writer even if they had omitted him.

As the CEO of Ikonic Records,i have not held a single talk with anyone as regards the signing of Durella with any person(s) or label.Yes,there has been certain meeting with durella’s manager about a certain move to have the interest of Durella but none of these talks has been conclusive enough to have it making headlines while i was out of the country.

Durella is a wonderful,talented artiste and issigned to Ikonic Records,his progress and development is what we want and set to achieve that’s why we signed him.

He’s signed to a Ikonic Records,a three year record deal with four albums.And presently we don’t have a single album in the second year of his contract running.

We have shot two good video’s for Durella “Enemies” and “Club rock”..And any Nigerian can testify that these two videos asyou can see i set to channel Durella’s energy into a new direction,more focused and give a good desired leverage for his Brand.
Presently before the news surface we are planning to throw out more works and also embark on tours and campaigns to Promote the artiste (Durella).

It was an unfair shot at the Label(Ikonic Records) saying we have let go of our artiste without any party contacting us for proper permission of the real fact before the news went viral online.
I wont sit down while the Image,integrity of Ikonic Music is been stained in such manner.
This is my stand now,DURELLA IS STILL WITH IKONIC MUSIC. Until i personally have a sit down with any label or person(s) to change the status of his Label stand.

I appreciate all parties involved in the false news that made headlines some weeks ago,i appreciate the power of the Nigeria Press,as some stakeholders call me personally to ask if the story is true.


Creating good music and equal and proper representation of Nigeria Music,that’s our objective at Ikonic Music.
