Many cities have recent flood across the world, including Lagos due to climate change, even d US was affected.

Now back to sinking cities, Amsterdam is not among d top10 in d world and land reclamation is not d sole factor for submerging. Tokyo in Japan was once the fastest sinking city in the world, faster than Jakarta( d capital of Indonesia n current no1 ) due to pumping of groundwater and they curtailed it by injecting water back into d ground. Every problems has solution n finding d right solution to every problems is the art of genius.

Keep calm.
good you pointed out their engineers combated the problems. Now for Lagos, what's the States plan in combating the displaced water...ofcourse you know it'll emerge somewhere else?!!!

About 1/4 of Amsterdam is reclaimed. 11 cities in China are reclaimed from sea, majority of Singapore is reclaimed from sea, Mumbai in India is majorly reclaimed from sea.... the palm island in Dubai is reclaimed also.

Land reclamation has been going on in d Netherlands since 1300 up till today, yet no record of casualties.

Lagos is about 3,000sq/m... being d smallest state in Nigeria with high population density and d need to cater for its demand is high as well. I'm sure people like u can't stay in eko Atlantic cos it's a reclaimed city but will like to live in "mukahari" in Japan not knowing its a reclaimed community as well.

Niggas fear what they don't understand n hates what they can't conquer, guess it's just the theory of man.
actually Netherlands has had some of the worlds greatest flood disasters in recent past..they practically are battling being submerged. Google it pls.

hey you big fool, were discussing history here. Nobody gives a fvck if u can teach me theory of relativity. History isn't wishful thinking, it is backed up by journals. Excerpt s, and documented evidence from players involved in the particular period.
No!!!! you cannot just throw tales by moonlight as your basis for make belief history.

Its documented in more than a hundred dissertations and history documentaries that the 1897 expedition that led to the exile of the oba, didn't last a quarter of a year, but you would have us believe after his exile(the seat of govt), the war raged on for 3years. With no proof.

Its also documented the palace priests got into a frenzy of human sacrifice on a mass scale, as the British approached the palace. If they'd channeled all that juju energy to learning how to harness gun powder and engage the black smiths of that era, ie science and tech...the defea t may have been stalled. I don't even understand why the fvck you keep differentiating BTW the white and black British soldiers. They were all the Royal Navy. Just like they fought during WWI/WWII, you fool.........

Man, your own ancestors gave up without a fight and even welcomed the british as saviours. so stop saying rubbish.

Kayode Adams was not a "students attacker", but a single "student attacker" of Prof Biobaku, who was stabbed by Kayode in the back as he addressed the university community.

He pleaded insanity in court and was confined to a psychiatric home for his conviction term and rusticated from school. He was found dead a few years later, drowned by the sea shore.

Why was Eni Njoku unable to return as Principal for a 2nd term at University of Lagos?

1. Because the Igbo instrument of Nepotism and Tribalism, the NCNC, had been unable to manage their alliance with the NPC, especially after the disputed 1964 parliamentary elections that eventually delayed the forming of a government by Azikiwe after his initial refusal. This did not go down well with the North and Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa.

2. Akintola had awakened the Yorubas to what the Igbos were doing right on Yoruba soil by employment of Nepotism and Tribalism to fill federal government positions. Akintola then began to liaise with the North to get Yorubas what they deserve from the federal government. Tafawa Balewa woke up from his prior indifference to Igbos dominating the federal space in an illiterate North/Educated East alliance.

There was no way the federal government would allow their partner Azikiwe and his NCNC party continue with the unrestrained nepotism and tribalism that was so evident to all.

Akintola would be mortally hated for bringing the Igbo version of meritocracy to the spotlight. He would be denied his life for daring to be an obstacle to Igbo greed.

While the North has always been painted bad to the rest of the South, the Igbos had always been willing partners to ensure their own benefit. Same happened with their partnership with Shagari in 1979.

Yet they claim Yorubas are the weak link in the South who fraternize with the Northern enemy.

Even in 1993, the Igbos largely voted for Bashir Tofa who had an Igbo vice, rather than vote for Abiola who was a Southerner running for the presidency itself. Yet same Igbos would lament that Yorubas chose to betray the South by voting Buhari instead of Jonathan in 2015, because Buhari had a Yoruba vice. They quickly forgot that same Jonathan had been voted by Yorubas in 2011 despite that same Buhari also had a same Yoruba Pastor, Tunde Bakare then. Then they hypocritically forgot that they also voted to be vice president in 1993 with a Northern Bashir Tofa, rather than having a Southern Abiola as President.
here we go with another revisionism. Akintola was a minion of ahmadu bello and was the opposition and tool they used in kicking awolowos AG out of the western helm of affairs. The north was preaching anti Igbo sentiments and akintola in trying to play solidarity, championed that campaign of calumny in the west. He was responsible for the expulsion of the Igbo lecturers in the west. Somehow you make it look like ALL lecturers were igbo., which is a blatant lie. Akintola introduced violence in politics of the west and connived to jail awolowo, who was struggling to maintain his influence in the west. The students protested the imoosition of prof biobaku, and the security forces were called in to save the situation. The school was closed till calm returned. These revisionist antics won't work. Forget it

TravelRe: FG Still Eyes Arik, Aero As Fulcrum For National Carrier by revolt(m): 6:17am On Mar 09, 2018
Nkemakonam62:
Despite the process currently going on to create a national carrier, Akelicious has learnt that the federal government still hopes to establish the new airline on the foundation already laid by Arik Air with technical support from the maintenance section of Aero Contractors.

According to informed source from the industry, it would be a lot easier to build the national airline on the operations of Arik Air, which is currently under the management of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) along with Aero Contractors than to establish an entirely new airline.

The source said that establishing a new airline from the scratch would take a longer time and might not be realised before the termination of the current administration.

The federal government early last year established transaction advisers for a new national carrier and also for the concession of the nation’s major airports.

Akelicious also learnt that with the advancement made by Aero Contractors in establishing a maintenance facility for Boeing B737 classics and working on upgrading to conducting maintenance on New General Boeing B737 aircraft types, which is the aircraft largely in the fleet of Arik Air, it would be easy to marry the two airlines and form the basis for the establishment of a national carrier.

Although it is not yet confirmed by the Minister of State, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, but Akelicious learnt that the federal government may work with Qatar Airways as core investor for the new national airline and if it goes as planned, the Middle East airline would supply the new carrier most of its large-body aircraft to commence operations to international destinations.

However, many airline owners currently in operation are not positively disposed to Nigeria establishing a national carrier because they believe government would favour it against them and this would drastically affect the market, as most of the passenger traffic would be mopped by the new airline, which would enjoy government’s support with waiver in charges and many other favorable considerations.

Akelicious also learnt that the owners of Aero and Arik, which are currently under the management of AMCON, have muted that they would sue the federal government if their interests are not met in the plan to establish a national carrier.

Also AMCON may not be disposed to incorporating Arik Air and Aero into the national carrier project because the Corporation is disposed to recovering its huge funds sunk in the two airlines and there would be no guarantee that these funds would be recovered when the two airlines metamorphose to a national carrier with a core investor and private sector driven management and ownership with little government stake, as enunciated by Sirika.

AMCON had earlier indicated that its management had severally turned down the request to use the two airlines as national carrier, arguing that the debt overhang in the airlines would not make such start up feasible because this means that the new airline would be laden with debts at inception.

Besides, AMCON said that it was more interested in recouping the whooping funds projected to between N16 to N20 billion expended on Aero and about N190 billion on Arik to save them from sinking and to sustain their operation.
Industry consultant and CEO of Belujane Konsult, Chris Aligbe, who is fully in support of establishing a national carrier, said that to a large extent, the federal government has been very transparent in the process of establishing a national carrier; unlike in the past when negotiations were done under the table.

On the adoption of Aero and Arik Air, Aligbe said the federal government cannot use the airlines without involving their owners, so if they sue government it might obstruct the plan to establish the national airline or delay its emergence.

On the opposition of the current domestic airlines to a national carrier, Aligbe said that he does not think that the airlines would have the locus to go to court and stand down the plan for a national carrier; rather, they could seek that whatever privileges given to the new national airline should be extended to them.
“They can go to court and seek for equal privileges because favouring one airline against others will be anti-competition,” Aligbe said.

So, I took a few minutes of my break time to peruse the names. I observed that over 99% of all the newly admitted students are ALL Igbos. Out of the over 15,000 admitted students I could only count about 10 confirmed Yoruba names. In fact, many of the departments do not have a SINGLE non-Igbo student admitted. This is a federal University for God sake! 99% from the same region! We understand that its situated in the East but haba take it easy Igbo people. When the Hausas do it, you are always the first to condemn them. The problem is that my Yoruba people in the SW will be the ONLY ones admitting people based on merit from across the country to the detriment of our own people - because we want to be seen as decent human beings. The Hausas and the Igbos do not give a fvck. The are just too tribalistic. We should start doing in the SW what the Igbos are doing in Nsukka - No more admission for Igbo students in UNILAG etc. until the Igbos change their ways.[/b]

This debate has been exhausted conclusively on another thread.

I have no interest in who became the first Nigerian head of a higher college that Yorubas rejected from the British as a sorry excuse for their demand for a full fledged university education.

As for Dike, I have already detailed how he got his appointment by Igbo merit. ENI Njoku was also appointed by the NPC/NCNC coalition that was in government at that time in 1960.

Njoku was Igbo, and an Azikiwe was Governor General/Ceremonial President.

The most qualified Igbo gets the nod in typical Azikiwe and NCNC fashion.

Or do you also insist that Kenneth dike was more qualified than his senior colleague and first African professor Oladele Ajose, in University College Ibadan?

Dike was called back from his sabbatical in the USA, to come resume as Vice-Principal, in a bid to ensure he eventually became Principal soon. The Igbo agenda was then unveiled when they conducted their first recruitment after the departure of the British.
dike was so unqualified , he moved to Harvard .how many u.i vcs after him excel outside u.I?
