Computers like other devices have a short lifespan. Your computer gets noisier, slows down, and shows error messages which are signs that something is wrong with your computer. This problem occurs when certain things happen to your computer. In line with this, i share 7 things to avoid if you want your computer to last longer. Power surges Power surges may be as a result of lightning strikes or sudden restoration of power. This can be risky as it can damage your computer's motherboard, lead to data loss and even your charger could explode. It is advisable you use a stabilizer. Battery drain This is for those that allow their batteries to run out before they charge it. Just be prepared to perhaps buy another battery if you continue with this habit. Limited ventilation Your computer's fan is not there for fun. And it is no gainsaying that heat is one of the major things that can harm your computer. This will make your system perform like a snail and your battery will quickly run out within minutes. As a rule of thumb, do not block the ventilation. Software updates Running an outdated software on your computer will automatically make it slower. This can make you angry that you hit it in a bid to let out your frustration. This can damage your PC. To make it faster, always keep software updated. Loose cables Searching and fixing loose cables is one of the easiest ways to make your computer durable. Properly place or fix any external cable that may affect your system. You can start with your charger. Dust Allowing dust to pile up in your computer will definitely affect its performance. Dust makes it prone to overheating as it can block the ventilation. When you notice any dust, use a blower to remove the dust. Physical damage If your fan is bad or your screen is cracked, you should fix it as soon as possible because if you do not, the damage can affect the overall performance of your system. |

You have dreamt about it. You can feel it and you are already making money from the enterprise you established. All in dreams. Reality dawns on you and you wish it your dream will become reality instantly. But that is not how it works. You have to work towards achieving your dreams especially if you hope to become an entrepreneur. But you are still lounging and dreaming. This may be due to some habits that you have imbibed over time and this can stop from bring your entrepreneurial dream to fruition. I share some of these habits. Saying it’s not the right time You keep telling yourself that it is not the right time. When is it the right time for you to start your business? The truth is there is never a 'right time' to kick off anything because if you wait forever you will do nothing. Start now! Stressing over personal finances. This has been said time and time again. You do not need to stress too much over your personal finance because it will always be a problem. If you dream to own a business, save money, reach out to friends and investors to source for finance. Fear of the unknown You are very comfortable in your comfort zone and you are afraid to leave. You fear what you are going to meet out there. It is better you face this fear and take the risk. It is advisable to try and fail than not taking any action due to fear of the unknown. Indecision Making a decision may be difficult but you can not run away from making that decision. You should consult your mentors and other experienced individuals to sort their advice before making that decision. Whatever you decide can make or mar you. Do not worry If it turns out wrong because you have learned a lesson. Procrastination We all have the tendency to make excuses for postponing tasks. Do whatever you want to do and face the risk. It is difficult but you have to try. |

iPhone and Android-operated have been around for awhile and there has been this raging about which is better. Even Nigerians are not exempted from this debate. Funny enough, you will find Android users if given the chance will ditch their Android for iPhone. That is the love Nigerians have for iPhone even if they cannot afford it. But the problem here is that their love is not based on an informed point of view because there are many Android phones that are far better than the iPhone. Regardless, i share reasons why Nigerians love iPhone. They just like iOS better than Android Some Nigerians just like the iOS than Android because of what they have heard over time about iPhone. Thanks to the solid and strong Public Relations machine of Apple. They have made us believe that there are no other phones that are better than the iPhone. This is wrong. You have Samsung Galaxy S7, Huawei Nexus 6P, LG G5, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and HTC 10. iPhones support all of the apps you want Almost all the apps you want is available on iPhone. So, whatever app you are using and is important to you, you will definitely find is on iPhone. In addition, there are a variety of helpful apps you will have access to. iPhone are durable Should we say iPhone is overhyped? True. The reputation that Apple makes quality and stylish Phones is in our faces. Granted, iPhone may last longer but it does not mean that Android phones are not durable. iPhone and Android phones can last longer. It only depends on the manufacturer. We can all see how Samsung is competing strongly with iPhone. iPhones are compatible with other Apple devices iPhone works perfectly with other Apple devices including MacBook and iWatch. The connection is seamless. But it is a torrid time if you are attempting to connect your Android phone with a MacBook or an iPhone. iPhone is immune from virus and malware Many believe that iPhone cannot be infected by virus and malware. This is actually not true. The fact is iOS apps can still be infected with malware and virus especially when you use unsecured Wi-Fi networks to download apps. Due to this, many Nigerians love and prefer the iPhone. iPhones have better resale value This is a major reason why Nigerians love iPhone. No matter how poorly used your iPhone appears, it will still sell for a good price than some Android phone. To Show off Being able to afford an iPhone means you have a deep pocket. The cost price of iPhone is as much as N400,000. Even if you are using a fairly used iPhone, people will still have the same perception. |

Social media is now an integral part of our lives. It has given many the opportunity to put their lives out there. As a result, some people take advantage of it to share anything whether they are celebrities or not. They post photos of wads of cash, fleets of cars, filtered pictures as well as fits achieved and much more. These contents are consumed by persons who spend hours gliding from Facebook, to Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram to view the posts shared by their favourite celebrities and friends. This can lead to social media envy or jealousy. To put this perspective, a recent global study on social media jealousy conducted by Kaspersky Lab reveals that nearly 60% of the participants viewed a friend as having a better life than their own simply by seeing that friend’s social media activity, and almost half were upset after viewing photos from a friend’s happy holiday celebration. 16,750 people who are at least 16-years-old from 18 countries participated in the online survey. This is not a pleasant feeling and is one of the shortcomings of social media and if you do not put it in check, it can lead to depression. i share ways to handle or curb it social media jealousy. Know that you may not be looking at reality You see a girl on Instagram with all the curves. However, when you eventually meet her, you are utterly disappointed. Social media can make people be whatever they want to be even if they are not. It is a false and fake life. There is a big difference between their social media life and their real life. Identify and plug triggers Which picture (s) do you look at that makes you jealous or envious? Identify that person (s) and perhaps block them from your timeline. But the question is how many people do you want to block? Their activities are in your face. Appreciate yourself Sometimes it is better to focus on your own blessings and appreciate yourself. This should always be at the back of your mind when the envy or thoughts slowly creep in. Remember the person’s intent Sometimes the intent of a post is just to show off. It is bragging! They display the stupendous amount they spend at clubs and their good looking wardrobe. People who are discerning will simply ignore them. Be genuinely happy for them There are times you feel that someone is honest in their post and you know they are just sharing what makes them happy. You can drop a nice comment for them. This will give you a wonderful feeling. Stop the comparison There is no need to assess or judge yourself based on what you see on social media. Be self-aware so that when the comparison thoughts pop up in your mind, you should kill it immediately. Do not allow it to go viral. If it does, you will just become moody for no justifiable reason. Take a social media break This may be very difficult. However, take a break if you cannot deal with the jealousy. Alternatively, cut the hours you spend on travelling from one social media account to another. |

This will help keep hunger at bay. Avoid the sun to stay hydrated To stay healthy, it is better to avoid the sun, and spend all your day in warm places and avoid stressful exercises.
