QatarPlayboy:... And how does it improve your general standard of living? so it's no longer about good governance, its about the number of States being CONTROLLED by a particular political party right? |
free2ryhme:You have a point here, however, wether all the registered voters in those affected areas collected their PVC or not, the rule of the game as it stands today said "REGISTERED VOTERS " and not 'Voters with PVC'. I think going forward, it should be amended to be 'Voters with PVC' rather than "REGISTERED VOTERS " because a voter without a PVC is not eligible to vote, since INEC have insisted from the 2015 General election that only PVC MUST be used as against 2011 General election when TVC was used. I think by 2019 General election, INEC should effect the change. |
Segadem:"CAN" as used by the guy means 'Possibility' and not 'certainty ' |
O warrior01:Anybody can express his or her personal OPINION on this scenario, but no provision of any law envisaged this scenario. It's a lacuna in our Constitution and Electoral Act. A death of a candidate before an election is different from a death of a candidate at the middle of an election. That guy claims he knows much when he is only wallowing in ignorance ignorantly. |
001ng:I told you there is no provision of any law for this scenario and there you are arguing what you know nothing about. What type of attitude is that? |
001ng:Stop arguing, there is no provision of any known law in Nigeria for this scenario. I bet you are not even a Law student not to talk of a Lawyer, because a Law student understands better. |
No Law in Nigeria provides for this scenario,. Its a Lacuna in our Constitution and Electoral Act , therefore whatever anybody is saying on this scenario is just an expression of his or her personal OPINION. |

benedictnsi:It's because at that stage, they are presumed innocent until otherwise proofed by a court of competent jurisdiction. They are suspects at that stage. If you expose their faces on the media and they turned out to be innocent indeed, they can press charges against the NPF or any Agency of Govt that was involved. |
49cents:You did not write that Igbo language well. You wanted to say 'I n'agwa m Ihe I n'amaghi' this is central Igbo language. As long as you cannot write central igbo language, you are a lesser Igbo person. |
Real2020:Hahhahahha... bros I am neither Yoruba nor Hausa... if you doubt me quote me in Igbo language and I will respond to you with a refined central Igbo language. I don't really talk about tribes. |
This is not the whole truth about the Igbos. I will prefer an average Hausa muslem man to an average Igbo man, any day and any time. If the Hausas are the ones controlling trading in Nigeria, like the Igbos , the general price index would have been low. Before you think I don't know what am saying, quote me in Igbo language... and I will definitely reply you in that language. |
Mogidi:He said Oshomole is the "biggest " thief which means there must be a 'big' and 'bigger' thief. Is just a case of comparative and superlative. |
ChappyChase:... but you pay for goods and services?. Increase in the price of PMS in Nigeria, automatically brings about a sharp increase in the prices of goods and services, and invariably result to low purchasing power of Naira. So you can see that we are all affected in one way or the other. |
jerome263:What will his Pastor do, apart from giving him his personal advise and probably say "God said I should tell you" he should rather pray in his room, and consult more knowledgeable person(s) for professional advice. |
Teespice:Like I said, the electoral act gives him the opportunity to exhaust ALL his right to Appeal, and until he exhausts ALL his right to Appeal, he is still the Governor of Rivers State. That's the position of the Law. |
modath:Electoral Act gives him the opportunity to exhaust his right to Appeal while he is still recognized as the Governor of Rivers State. Therefore Wike is still the Governor of Rivers State until he exhausts all his right to Appeal. |
Whereas Nigerians are being killed on daily basis by Boko Haram insurgents, Whereas the economy is going down on daily basis, Whereas the unemployment rate is skyrocketing, Whereas our health sector is in sorry-state, Whereas our education sector is becoming worst, Whereas the poverty rate is on the rise, our so -called leaders are busy fighting for one position or the other for selfish interest. The common man in Nigeria does not care who is the President, Senate President, Speaker, Minister etc, what he cares is GOOD GOVERNANCE. |
On the contrary, its Boko Haram that should be warning the Military to get off their way. I have said it before and am saying it now that insurgents will only multiply as we approach the so-called deadline. Source:Common Sense |
Everyone in Nigeria keep saying that Nigerian leaders are corrupt, the Nigerian leaders on their own side keep saying that corruption has eaten deep in our Nation's fibre, Therefore it seems that nobody is actually corrupt in Nigeria. Then where is the corruption in Nigeria coming from? |
Immediately after his so-called screening, I heard a loud voice shouting "we don win" and I asked myself what did they win? I do not blame all these Politicians, I rather blame the Nigerian people that always allow these Politicians to continue to ride on us. Tomorrow you will see Amaechi and Wike eating from the same table and be laughing to us (the common Nigerians). Who would have thought that Tinubu and Buhari would even belong to the same political party? At the end of the day, the big losers are the common Nigerian people, whereas the Politicians continue to gain more and more. The real change MUST start from the Common Nigerian people. These politicians understand that the more the poverty in the land, the more advantage they have. |
The Tribunal ordered for a rerun election in 18 out of 31 Local Government because of some discrepancies in those areas. Op stop misinforming the public. |
drss:Do you see your life? Anyway training taught me to be polite in correcting others. Federal Executive Council meeting which is held every Wednesday is different from Council of State meeting. Please take note. |
@Op if the CCB case against Tinubu at the CCT did not survive, Saraki's case CANNOT survive as well, therefore wake up from the dream of seeing Saraki in jail. This is because the same mistake CCB made in Tinubu's case that made the case not to survive at CCT was the same mistake the CCB made in Saraki's case. The mistake is the failure of CCB to inform the person BEFORE going to CCT. It's a procedural mistake on the side of CCB. |
NgeneUkwenu:No, the CCT did not entertain the case, they did not hear the case today, (entertaining a case means proceedings ), and there was no proceedings on the matter today. Do not forget that the trial in CCT was scheduled to COMMENCE today, but it did not commence, which means it had NEVER commenced and will NOT commence until Appeal Court delivers its judgment irrespective of the time it will take. I still demand for an apology from you. |
Until Appeal Court delivers its judgment, the CCT CANNOT proceed. If the Appeal Court delayed the judgment till next year, the CCT MUST wait till next year. Therefore the commencement of the trial proceedings of the CCT is wholly and exclusively dependent on the judgment of the Appeal Court. It's a principle of jurisprudence. |
NgeneUkwenu:My dear when you hear 'court sitting' it means sitting to commence business of the day on a particular matter , which means commencing the proceedings on a particular matter . Not mere sitting down in the court. A court could have 3 different cases to attend to in a day. Sitting means to entertain a particular case. Was there any proceedings on the trial today? I still insist you apologize to me now. |
duwdu:You and I who is wrong now? I said it in my submission that CCT MUST wait for the judgment of Appeal Court, you said I was wrong. If you are a Lawyer, you need to up your game espercially in the areas of legal interpretations and try to separate politics from Law, if you are a Law student, you need to read more. |
NgeneUkwenu:Please I did not teach you any "nonsense " it's just the principles of jurisprudence, which the Tribunal Chairman has just upheld and adjourned the CCT sitting in other to await the judgment of the Appeal Court. Therefore I was very much correct afterall. I demand an apology from you. |
abduljabbar4:Why do we allow these Politicians to continue to deceive us to the extent of not knowing that they are all the same. 70% of APC members today were members of PDP yesterday , they started their political career in PDP, they were thought politics in PDP. Imagine OBJ that spent 8years out of 16years of PDP mess is now an APC adviser. |
@OP why did you consciously omit the Section 147 (5)? perhaps it does not sooth you right? Unfortunately you can only omit it in citation, but you can't erase it from the constitution. For further reading, you may wish to visit section 66(1)(h). Infact to be honest with you, if Amaechi is made a Minister at the end of all these dramas, it would raise some constitutional questions that must be tested in the Supreme court. The Senate is only trying to be careful in other not to go against the Constitution in respect to Anaechi's matter, hence the delay in his confirmation. Politics and Politicians have rendered our Constitution ineffective. |

Is it that they don't want us to see their faces when they are to be disgraced publicly or they are indirectly encouraging them to steal more
