I have watched with utmost despair the way people have been asked to take a power and go as if it's an eckankar worship center. This is rather shameful.
hahahahahahahahahhahah... That's why I Love Nigerians, no matter the situation, we must find a way of turning it to comedy. Bros thank you for making me laugh this night.
PoliticsRe: Judgement In Saraki’s Appeal Adjourned Indefinitely by Rexology: 8:12pm On Oct 19, 2015
duwdu:
This is wrong. The Court of Appeal is NOT hearing the same case as the CCT is trying; in other words, the CoA is NOT trying Senator Saraki. The CoA is trying to determine whether Saraki's trial at the CCT can or cannot continue. Big difference. Until the CoA makes a pronouncement on the matter and expressly stops the CCT from continuing with the case, Saraki's trial at the CCT continues.

It is de-ja-vu again... Reminds one of some uninformed guys' interpretation of the first pronouncement of the then moribund Federal High Court on essentially the same subject matter. That funny judge eventually eased himself out of the case, while saying his court never at any time stopped Saraki's trial before the CCT, contrary to what some were feeding to the public.

P34c3
.....
...
You have given your own interpretation which you are entitiled to..., let's sit down and watch as it unfolds. By Tuesday you are likely to hear that CCT have adjourned the hearing indefinitely.

I laugh. Have you ever heard about federal judicial service commission before? It regulates the judiciary and punish any erred judge. You sit tight the moment you know your activities are under watch and you would be punished for errors intentionally committed.
What am saying is that you used the word "erring ". A judge cannot be disciplined for erring in his judgment as long as he did not collect any bribe. That's why we have hierarchy of court. Appeal Court is there to correct any erroneous judgment by the lower court, whereas the Supreme court is there to correct any erroneous judgment by the Appeal Court. Errors in judgment is different from involving in any corrupt dealings as a Judge.

onatisi:
so in order words the cct can do nothing to saraki until the appeal court gives its judgement
Yes, CCT will have to hold on... because it's jurisdiction and composition was challenged in Appeal Court, which the Appeal Court have entertained and adjourned its judgment on that matter. Therefore, CCT being an inferior court to Appeal Court, MUST wait for the judgment by the Appeal Court.

ExInferis:
His appeal AGAINST his CCT case. Meaning he can still be prosecuted unhindered. It's actually a victory for the anti-saraki APC cohort.
You are wrong... it would amount to judicial crisis should CCT go ahead to sit on the same matter that is pending in Appeal Court. As long as Superior court have entertained the case, CCT MUST wait for the pending judgment by Appeal Court.

Inasmuch as I would prefer GMB to PMB; it seems PMB,after all,is as potent as GMB. The fear of PMB is the beginning of wisdom for the erring judge.
You are really funny. Its only a higher COURT that can determine when and where a Judge erred in law, definitely not PMB.

akinsbaba2015:
I don't need to be a lawyer to know that Saraki will have his day at the CCT in two days time. The appeal court declined on the judgement which means the CCT is well in order to proceed with the 3day trial. God bless Nigeria.
You are wrong... CCT hands are tied by this latest development at Appeal Court. As long as the judgment is pending, everything regarding the matter MUST be put on hold.

Why then is sahararepoters telling lies? That means the tribunal will continue with the case i guess. I can see more trouble for him after the ministerial hullabaloo. Politics is always dirty.
Tribunal CANNOT sit to hear the case until Appeal Court give their judgment. It would amount to 'judicial abomination' for an inferior court like CCT to sit side by side with a Superior court like Appeal Court on the same matter. This is because Appeal court had entertained the case and reserved its judgment. Therefore the hands of CCT is tied on this case for now.

Hahahahaha... ladies, who knows how many young men she must have boasted with"I AM ENGAGED " even when the guy has not propose to her.

Once you start dating a lady, from that point she will become engaged by assumption, some will get married by assumption... and when the guy thinks otherwise, it will look as though the guy ever proposed to her in the first place.

Ladies please allow your guy to make that decision and propose to you, do not make or even suggest that decision for him to avoid... because if you like swear uncl*d for him, you are only aggravating own your situation, after all he neither proposed to you nor engaged you.

The former governor, who is now Senate Minority Leader, said the lawyer who dragged him to the EFCC submitted at least four different petitions, and that it would take a while for him to respond to each of the allegations.

You see, when you tell these kids on Nairaland something, they don't listen. You see them shouting, "arrest fashola, arrest ameachi, arrest fayemi" but the above bolded has at least taught you guys some sense.

The Efcc just can't arrest any tom, dick and harry without a petition. If you want Fashola probed, send a petition to Efcc with concrete facts.

Efcc wont arrest Fashola just because someone on nairaland is wailing.
And how are your sure that EFCC did not receive such petitions against Amaechi, Fashola and Co and decided not to investigate them, simply because they are in the ruling party that control the EFCC?

Appeal Court is set to deliver judgment on the appeal filed by Saraki, challenging his trial at CCT on Monday. If the Appeal court ruled in his favour, it means that CCT will not hear the case again, unless it decides to go to the Supreme court.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: My Sordid Experience As A Female Lawyer Job Hunting. by Rexology: 7:30pm On Oct 16, 2015
queenfav:
My joy knew no bounds when my landlord's wife called a lawyer she once worked with to get me an interview appointment with his firm. Despite my tiredness after the POP ceremony, I managed to wake up early to get there by 8.am. My hopes were high with the possibility of getting a job barely 24hrs after POP. That's how I waited till 10.am o, before the man showed up. He ushered me into his office, and the interview began.

First off, I pride myself as a lady who dresses decently both for corporate and for casual occasions. So, this wasn't a case of immoral dressing on my part. That's how the managing partner interviewing me started looking at me to the point of me wondering if something was amiss. The next thing he said was, "you look really smart, and pretty. I like you already counsel."I just mumbled "thank you Sir". As a lawyer, he asked some pretty tough scenario based questions, which I scaled through by giving my legal opinion. He then asked for my credentials, which I proceeded to give him. That was when the man proceeded to leave his seat and placed his hand on my shoulder. I was so pertrified! I shook free and he got the message that he should keep his hands to his damn self.

The interview then took a personal turn. He started asking about my relationship status. I quickly responded that I was engaged. His reply was "me too am married, can't you see my ring", I like you a lot...you are a very pretty lady. I am sure a lot of judges are fighting over you in this state. Your credentials are great, you seem smart, just my kind of woman..what if I want to date you?". I was so shocked!! That was when I told him straight off that I don't date married guys, let alone one who may become my boss. Also that I am in a very committed relationship and don't condole cheating. He was a bit stunned, but took it in good faith. He asked a few other questions before ending the interview, saying his other partners would interview me on monday, that's when I will know if I am getting the job.

This experience left me very shocked and sad, that an interviewer would blatantly ask me out. Whatever happened to work ethics and morality? I just hope I don't get experiences like this again. Its very insulting and demeaning to say the least. Please, Nigerian men this is so wrong. A woman should be interviewed and hired for her brains and academic intellect, not because she is pretty and you just want a new plaything. I was so close to insulting him, I just had to keep calm and address the issue in a very firm way. May God help all female jobseekers o. If there's anything I am not ready to do is to sleep with any man, because he is in a position to give me a job. Not after 6 years invested into my legal career. Not now, not ever!
What if he did that just to know your type of person? Because for him to have done that on the first day of the interview, to me it's quite suspicious. (Just want to think out of the box). Why not do a background check on him to know is antecedents in that regard?

The Boko Haram is aware of the December deadline by the President, and they must work HARDER to proof him and the Military very wrong.
Because any time the President or the Military make any comment of how they are defeating Boko Haram, it's always accompanied with a bomb blast to proof them very wrong. Therefore, from December upwards, Boko Haram is most likely to intensify the bombing just to proof the President and the Military very wrong.
It's just a common sense.

The same Dino that told Nigerians that the Screening would not be "business as usuall" and it eventually turned out to be 'business as usual'.
The same Dino that told Nigerians nominees must have the backing of atleast 2 Senators from home state before clearance, and came back few days later to say it's not "Sacrosanct " Chai!!!!!
If Dino is saying the whole truth, why has Amaechi not been screened? since according to him (Dino) the matter is in court and the Senate does not involve in a matter before the court.
If the report is a one -line report,as we were meant to believe, what is still holding the report?

I have nothing against Amaechi becoming a Minister, but my questions are:
1. Must Amaechi become a Minister?
2. Is it Amaechi that will bring the change?
3. Don't we have more pressing National issues than Amaechi's Ministerial position?
4. If Amaechi becomes a Minister, will it solve our National problems?

The Tribunal nullified the election in 19 polling units and ordered for a rerun (not the entire election )

If at the end of the day there was a rerun, how will the petitioners win? do not forget that the PDP candidates were leading in their respective zones, and it is not possible that all the votes in those polling units will be given to the APC candidates.

CrimeRe: 21 Year Old Undergraduate Murdered By Police by Rexology:
Some Nigerian Police Officers could be brutal and barbaric, however, on this very matter some fundamental questions should be asked.
1. Could a Nigerian Police Officer that came for an arrest be so brutal to the extent of firing the suspect, when the suspect was not armed with any dangerous weapon(s )to resist the Police men?
2. What could have informed the decision by the Police to come with that number of Police men with arms to extent that they have to position some armed Police men arround the compound just to arrest a 21-year old undergraduate?

My overall point here is that this story is not WHOLE,
I am waiting for the other part of this story... until then, I rest my case.

Your piece is laced with loopholes, ignorance and error even as you displayed your inability to respect others choices and decision. By failing to embrace others life choices and undermining their unshackling liberty you became shortfall of any right to parade your personal opinion on others.

Your write up became nauseous when you suggested P'square are not properly wedded to their wives because they haven't performed a ceremonious white wedding rituals. This disjointed assertion and display of arrogance to venture into someone's union without a need to do so speaks volume of your ignorance and lack of elementary knowledge of the matrimonial institution.

Prior to the invention of white wedding which from it inception was unconnected to religion but became customary after Queen Victoria of England wore a white gown to her court wedding and with Christians adopting the dressing code into it system there have been marriages around the world. The practice of wedding has been in force even before the advent of religion so for you or anyone to suggest that anyone who didn't wed in a church is not properly married is naive and ignorance. I don't know about you but my great grand parents and ancestors were properly married to their respective wives the traditional method without church wedding and before the importation of Abrahamic doctrines to our clan.

Lastly, the issue of baby mamas isn't confined to our celebrities like you're indicating and being insinuated by many. There have been baby mamas even before the booming of Nigeria entertainment industry and it has been a prevalence even with the 'common' class and non celebrities. I know of countless baby mamas who have never been entangled with any celebrity.
My dear JEHOVAH must bless you for resetting the mind of Op and his likes. The Op is so myopic to the extent that he thinks that all human beings are Christians that attend one Church or the other and therefore MUST wed in a Church to be adjudged right. I only commented on this thread because of your post.

Let us watch and see what happens at the Court of Appeal
Justice Pindiga was the same judge that was thrown out of the Governorship election tribunal coz we already knew what he was up...

How can a Judge sit down for several weeks listening to the merits of the petition by the petitioner only to dismiss the case on the premise of Preliminary objections - failure of APC to give INEC 21 days notice before conducting its primaries.
An Issue the Court Of Appeal had earlier ruled in favour of APC last month.
With today's Judgement there is finally light at the end of the tunnel coz the COA will just reverse the entire ruling and give judgement based on the merits or demetrits of the petition and not on pre-election technicalities...
1. The judgment said that the petitioner FAILED to substantiate his allegation that the election was mared by irregularities.
2. Their witnesses testified based on hearsay.
3. Their evidences are weak.
4. Their allegations were criminal in nature and they FAILED to prove their cases beyond all REASONABLE doubt.

Based on these facts, the Tribunal upheld the preliminary objection raised by PDP and INEC.

The Tribunal gave the petitioner the opportunity to substantiate his allegations, when they FAILED, the Tribunal had to upheld the preliminary objection.
Do you expect the Tribunal to give its rulings without giving the petitioner the opportunity to argue his case?

Wishful thinking is when you think that a 73year old president would appoint a 35 or 40 year old men to work with. Most old men like PMB have the impression that youths do not have much wisdom. It's only normal for an aged person like PMB to associate and brainstorm with the aged people like them. He will always prefer an aged person in his government to a youth any day any time. Therefore youths should wait for their own time (from the look of things, it seems the time of youths in federal government had passed )

I agree with you, but not quite.
Tinubu is still much more relevant than saraki.
Tinubu still wields much power in the south-west.
Who is Saraki?
He's only suffering from megalomania
He's lost the control of his own base
He was stoned just last month..
No matter how hard saraki tries, his influence will never go beyond Ilorin. He can't go beyond the senate presidency...
He can keep attaching himself to the north... Hausas won't consider him for presidency
Not the Hausa's of Nigeria where those of the Northwest feels superior to those of the Northeast, how much more a man from Ilorin!
Tinubu may seem irrelevant for now...... 2019 is around the corner
Like the Yoruba's will say 'ojulopesi ashiere logbagbe'
On the other hand... Saraki
How could he believe Baba.. Someone who has kept him at arm's length since he became SP.
Baba will simply use and dump him
He will still face the tribunal. He should enjoy the fun while it lasts..
No matter sarakis political shenanigans, he can never become a president in Nigeria
Hausa's will never support an half-bood Yoruba
Tinubu, no doubt has made a mark on the Nigerian Political land scape, notwithstanding, time changes many things, no kingdom lives for ever. If Tinubu and Saraki should stand for a presidential election in Nigeria as it is today to test their popularity, Saraki stands a better chance of winning Tinubu with wide spread and wide margin.

Now am begining to like this, About the case of Osun and Ekiti, Both Segun Oni and Oyinlola won from the Tribunal butlost from the appeal court... why can't they went to supreme court and ask for stay of execution... They vacate the seat immediately the appeal court rule in favor of opposition.... and why can't they go to supreme court.. About the issue of River, This is politics at play and that was why the judgement was postpone to monday and the judgement might be passed maybe between 12noon and 4pm.. so now tell me the PDP and the senator will file and appeal and also stay of execution under few hours and the court will seat? What am saying is that they might return to the floor if the appeal and stay of execution favor them but they will not be on chamber on Tuesday for screening of the Ministerial nominee cos then according to law they are not elected anymore cos tribunal has nullify the election that brought them in.
According to electoral act, all the post election matters are settled at the Appeal Court, the Appeal Court is the final bus stop for any POST election matters., it's ONLY the presidential election matters that can get to the supreme court. Therefore they couldn't have gone to Supreme court, that was why they have to vacate the seat.
