UnfairLife7: government primary school o. I don't think i will advise op to accept it. If it were government secondary school then it's fair. Secondary school that he can get to principal and also get some juicy position before or after retirement. A principal in a government secondary school can earn close to 700k Level what? |

Soundminded: Good day my friends Please advise me, I recently got a government teaching slot in a primary school, where I would probably earn 70k for a start ,but where I work presently in a private school where I teach government I earn 100k as basic salary and private lessons give me 40k monthly
Should I quit the private school for a government school? For job security You better rush and grab it. Private school can wake up one morning and sack you but this can never happen in public school. You can still retain your private lessons for more income |

Education › Re: Guys, Did I Overcharge This Woman For This? by rezzy: 9:52pm On Jul 31, 2023 |
Jewessgratitud3: A colleague of mine called me last week and Said a woman needs a sounds teacher to come and take the child on sounds this summer to enable the child read before school resumes and that she wants someone with British diction. So, because I'm a diction instructor and have done that kind of job in the past ( like nine years ago) my friend recommended me.
Back then ( 2014) when I was into this home lesson full time, I was charging 25k per child and its three times a week and I pick the places I go to. No long distance thing. Now with the current situation of the economy and considering my age, I charged this woman 50k three times a week and she said it's too much. Meanwhile, the school the child is attending was where I taught before I left and started doing home lesson and their school fees then ( 2014) was 95k for prep class. By now it should be around 150k. My friend already told me the school the child attends.
She said it's too much that she can only afford 20k. I just ignored them. They will pay 150k for school fees, nothing much to show for it but will want to give you peanut and expect you to perform magic under 1month.
If I handle the child, no doubt, she'll read and her accent will change but definitely not for that amount. I'll now be trekking that long distance cos no bike and somebody is telling me 50k is too much.
Did I do wrong by ignoring them cos they want me to come and start this August but I have zeroed my mind there. Would you accept such amount for home lesson? It's Moderate. They will call you because nobody will do it for less |

superCleanworks: Yeah. I wonder how a child would be comfortable reading how 40,000 people was wiped out because of 10 commandments
or thousands of snakes biting everyone till the IMAGE OF A SNAKE was created. but the same people were admonished for the image of a calf.
or wild bears tearing children apart because of another man's head.
Seriously I would deal with any teacher that brings religion to my child.
Feel free to buy all the versions of bible and read them to your children AT HOME. You can do it with loud speaker if you want. keep your religion at home. Crk is compulsory in most secular primary school . Abi how are you going to do that |

mployer: I know this is RCCG.
It's not easy to pastor a small church but that is the real test of true calling.
We have a parish under our zone presently that is not holding any service, but we still send remittance on their behalf just because their data is on RCCG database.
The Usher was right, they might not be able to submit the remittance form online if the space for members tithe is left blank. Just wow, But to me, it doesn't make sense nau. Reporting to the province about a closed down parish would have been better sha, instead of pretending to have the parish still in existence. Or there should be a way on the database where such parish can be removed I believe those pastors know what to do, but it must never be heard that a parish closed down in their time. At least, i have heard a Zonal pastor say this |

This is not far from the truth
But sometimes, it's not from the overseers of the church but the pastors who want promotion by all means.
In my former parish where my husband was the parish pastor, we didn't have many members, the few we had were struggling to eat. So many at times, there was no tithe coming from them. During one of those days, usher took remittance to Area headquarters, and the head usher said he won't collect because there was no members' tithe.
My husband was called upon, he explained to head usher, the man said lai lai because province will not collect the remittance from him too , that my husband should drop something at least to cover up. My husband blatantly refused telling him he has put his own tithe, he can't put for members. That province should summon him, he will explain.
It's one lady that later drop 1k as tithe for members. |
