Are you okay? What the hell do you know about my financial education? You think quoting Warren Buffet makes you have a clue? What ever reason has you pissed this afternoon I will suggest you deal with it and leave me out of it. I have been investing in stocks and mutual funds since before you ever learned how to quote warren Buffet. I asked the person I asked to list funds because I have no mutual funds in Nigeria. Not because I need to be educated by you. You really have the nerve to address me when I asked you the same question and you responded with quotes from the Internet. I asked someone else that might know what he is talking about and you decide to crawl out of your hole and attack me. If you can list a fund then list it. I know how funds work and I can do my own research. If you cannot please respect yourself and jump off my balls.
I knowof one Mutual fund in Nigeria that has a history of high performance. That is ARM Discovery Fund.Check out their website at http://www.arminvestmentcenter.com/.

Investment › Re: Why Young People Should Invest In Shares by rhames(m): 7:41pm On Nov 19, 2013
One of the biggest secrets of buying shares is not only the above listed advantages. It is one of the two greatest hedges against inflation (real estate is the second) and it is the only way to save and make money over the long term. I have been buying shares since 2003 and of course i have had some ups and downs but some shares are still worth the buy. There are three reasons why you buy shares. First is to save for posterity(buy or build a house, send kids to the best schools, start a business or other specific targets). Second is to build value over the long and short term. Third for the purpose of earning passive income in the nearest future.

Shares that fall into the first category are as follows:
FBN Holdings,Union Bank,UBA,NAHCO-Aviance,Dangote Flour,Dangote Sugar,GTB (Cheap to acquire ,regular Dividends and bonuses shares)

Shares that fall into the second category are as follows:
Nestle,Cadbury,Total,Mobil, Dangote Cement,Julius Berger.( Expensive but growth/Value focussed)

a combination of both falls into third category.

Dont buy any shares on sentiments. Its dangerous.

Another point i want to raise is get a good stock broker. If you can start with a minimum of N250,000 please do so because the best stock brokers dont come cheap. They give you advice on paper, complete analysis of stocks to buy and personalised service. Use a traditional Merchant bank or Market maker. I use FCMB stockbrokers. If you are in Lagos or Abuja walk into the HQ or CDB branch. I bought Nestle 10000 units of Nestle @ N54 then and you can imagine how much i have made on capital appreciation. I have not sold it. That was on their advise.

I am accountant by profession and that has helped me a lot with my investments. I am currently working on a website that will assist newbies in shares on how to go about things.

Good luck with your investments. Any quick questions can be sent to oryxsmeconsulting@gmail.com

Change is the only permanent condition in life. We Nigerians shouted at the top of our voices when OBJ wanted to sell these gigantic stoves to people who will turn them around and make them work. When Musa Yaradua came in he cancelled the contracts of sale and today we know the rest. Whoever gets them should be a ble to turn them around in 5 years the ways the telecom companies did.

Probably a lot will go into charity. The best Charity you can give any right thinking human being is education. Setting up a university like Van Der Bilt or MIT will help the nation produce more IT students and encourage more self employed people. The nation needs more businesses in various disciplines to grow and help the masses. cool

mrnestyy1985: I am a very good practising christain. But i must share my view on christainity and business. I believe that God has already blessed us with the words he directed to abraham " i will bless you and bless your generation" . So if God has blessed me, the rest is left for me to develop my blessing to success. You have to face physical reality and live the spirituality for God and his angel to fight. Only ghost become heroes in the spiritual world and since Your time has not come for you to die and become a ghost. Why not concentrate on the physical things that make you a christian. The problem that i have seen with Nigerians is that they make more emphasis on spirituality.a typical Nigerian believes that success comes by praying and fasting. I believe in work before prayer and fasting. Na only wealthy person devil dey pursure. A poor or unambitous man has nothing to offer.

Also let me remind you that majority of americans and europeans hadly practise the christainity that the imposed on us Africans. A typical eeuropean visit the church only when there is a wedding ceremoney or a burial ceremony but that doesnt mean they have not succeeded economically and financially. I know most Nigerian online startup wouldnt mind putting " Jesus is the only true God" if they owned facebook. Not even on the about facebook page will you notice zuckerberg promoting any aspect of religion. Thats because in other to succeed, one have to be neutral in her endeavours. Aliko dangote the opportunist Nigerian and african billionaire has never promoted islam in any of his range of products even though he is a follower of mohamed.

Okay, here is a typical example of the Nigerian religion syndrom, before the invention of facebook and other social network, a typical Nigerian believed that voodooist could use your photo to harm you.so when someone happen to be in possession of your photo, you become insecured and skeptic. But with the introduction of face,Nigerians have willing donated their facebook to the public free of charge. Majority of them have even made alot of mo ey online by photo sharing yet none of them have died even though this witches and wizard have access to their facebook photos. How do you explain this aged long Nigerian syndrom? Are witches not allowed to use facebook and instagram?

By and large, rather than using the quote " Jesus is the answer for the world today" i did suggest you use something in general terms. Its peoples right to believe in anything they choose. Christainity, islam or what have you are all peoples personal opinion and believe and you should respect their religion to promote world peace. PEACE IS ALL THE WORLD NEED. Putting one religion over the other will only promote anger and vestation among us and the end result is the reason we have suicide bombing on a daily base around the world.

Please this are my personal opinion and i do not mean to offend anybody.
A muslim cleric once mentioned that the Europeans succeeded in imposing religion on us and took away any form of development from us Africans.

If you have never made a dime online, look for programs or courses that can guide you to make money online. Most of these Nigerian online marketers dont make money online and they hold seminars only to fleece an unsuspecting attendees of their hard earned money. Get a credit or debit card and buy the "Shoe-in-money system. The course is less than US $10 and was developed by Jeremy Schoemaker for newbies. His website is www.shoemoney.com and the course website is www.shoeinmoney.com.

Romance › Re: Why Do Guys Run From Successful And Financially Independent Women? by rhames(m): 7:18pm On Nov 15, 2013
What a lot of people dont understand about these career women is that they are the easiest set of people to manage anywhere in the world. The qualifications or experience may be intimidating, but only if the woman is of good character. Professional women like people of sound thinking around them all the time and not people who will take their career away from them. We men in Africa have an attitude/culture problem with women of stature: we are afraid of them and will not like them as spouses. There is basically nothing wrong with the career women. Just like every man, they want sound minds around them.
