Crime / Re: Oluwatosin Michael Fatunmbi Kills Driver, Buries Him In The Bush by rico73(m): 12:56pm On Apr 24, 2019
BleedingPen:
A warden with the Ikoyi prisons, Lagos, ASP Oluwatosin Michael Fatunmbi, has reportedly killed a tricycle driver in Lagos.

Igbere TV gathered that the incident happened on Saturday, April 20 along Ogombo road, Abraham-Adesanya area of Lekki, Lagos.

Two wardens were said to be drunk and driving on top speed when they ran into the ‘keke’ driver.

It was gathered that the victim died right there on the spot of the accident.

In a bid to invade investigation, the officers were alleged to have quickly buried the corpse in the forest.

An insider in the Ikoyi prisons who spoke to Igbere TV on the condition of anonymity, alleged that “so many people are being kept in the prison for manslaughter, while the killer officer is now walking freely.”

He said ASP Fatunmbi is attached to the Intelligence section of the Ikoyi prisons.

The insider gave the name of the second occupant of the vehicle as Mr. Olayinka Oseni, adding that “the officers were returning from a Easter eve party when the accident occurred.”

Efforts to reach the spokesman of Ikoyi prisons, DSP Bello Ahmed for comments, were unsuccessful. Text messages sent to his line were yet to be responded to as at press time.

More details later...

Romance / The Scourge And Growing Trend Of Baby Mamas In Nigeria. by rico73(m): 10:47am On Dec 18, 2018
THE SCOURGE AND GROWING TREND OF BABY MAMAS IN NIGERIA.

There is a complete erosion of values and respect for The institution of marriage going on in Nigeria right before our eyes and we think its modernization. women flaunt the fact that so men can have unprotected sex with them and they can end up as Baby Mama and even hold their own in the society.

In the times past a single mother was regarded as a taboo and a shame to the family that produced her in the society, but now all seems to have changed that even the church too is gradually accepting the status quo. It's even do bad now that supposed role models and celebrities announce their arrival in the industry with their being baby daddies and mama.

Just when the dust seems to be settling down regarding one of the most celebrated blogger and baby mama, another one has just entered the scene with more controversial and shameful tales of confused paternity crisis...we even have someone else claiming to be the baby's dad; which implies that he was one of her numerous sex mates who had unprotected sex with her... (an implication she doesn't deny).

Women lately do not know they are shooting themselves in the foot by creating the impression that they should be treated like sex objects, hoes and without respect.
Some think they are too rich to fit into a marriage so they script a relationship with a man with the intent of crashing in no time and funny enough the church is sometimes dragged into the mix.

The bubble will finally burst one day when men will rather have babies with these shameless Nigerian girls and import wives with tolerable social history probably from other religions and society. Do we still talk about love? Materialism has firmly overthrown it in Nigeria. Parents now groom their daughters to go after materialism than think of settling down.

Nairaland / General / Candle In The Rain by rico73(m): 2:39pm On Oct 02, 2018
CANDLE IN THE RAIN

Her name was Leah,
A beautiful candle that gave light
to the poor ones who had her
as a gift from The Giver
of all that is good and perfect.
She was the hope
that made their hearts beat
as they laboured to make her day come.

She was the candle that gave hope,
A lonely flicker of light in the dark,
Threatened on all sides by the boisterous wind
to which the rain lent an evil hand.
The farmers should have rejoiced that the rain had visited,
But not this one that took their light
and left them in the gloom.

She was a symbol of hope
in a world where the girl child
is married off at thirteen,
When she yet knew not the
difference between a stick and a rod;
When the infant in her is sacrificed
on the ancient altars of culture and tradition
that daily reinforced male dominance.

She was a shining example in a world
where the girl child is thought
to have nothing in her head
and sent to go and make babies
early in her "cursed" life
in a home where the man
is old enough to be called her father...
What voice then for such a child-bride?!

The coming of her day
was the strength in the backs
of the ones that gave her life
as they toiled day and night,
In the rain and under the sun,
With blisters and coarse hands
to show for their labour under the sun
as they hoped against the adversity that held them in a forced embrace.

Soon life came to mock them all;
Leah's day came at long last,
And everyone should have rejoiced, but they couldnt
It wasn't what they had expected,
And instead of the voice of mirth, wailing greeted the surrounding villages,
They all had been raped,
Life had come to cheat them,
Their light forcefully yanked from them; darkness greets them!

She was a heroine,
Though she remained unsung;
Perhaps a helping hand
in stemming the socio-economic continuun
life had lavishly cursed them with,
But those that should have said "YES" said "NO",
The looming threat from birth won at last,
And she was only an endangered candle in the rain....

Nairaland / General / Yet Again The President Failed To Address Issues Correctly. by rico73(m): 2:08pm On Oct 02, 2018
There we go again. Yet the president failed to acknowledge his failures and address critical issues that we were expecting him to address. The blood of the innocent citizens/farmers killed so far will continue cry out aloud for justice.

Read through excepts from his speech to the nation this morning. I was expecting more than this rhetorics he spelt out in his speech regarding three critical areas (herders problem, security of lives and property and elections issues) in our nation this morning.

On farmers herders conflict.
9. The age-long conflict between herders and farmers that was being exploited by those seeking to plant the seeds of discord and disunity amongst our people, is being addressed decisively. We will sustain and continue to support the commendable efforts by all including civil society organisations, local and states governments and our traditional and religious leaders in finding durable solution to this problem.

10. This being a trans humane issue, we are working with countries in our region that are also facing similar difficulties to complement our common efforts. In this context I must warn that the perpetrators of murder and general mayhem in the name of defending or protecting herders or farmers will face the full wrath of the law. Meanwhile, we urge all peace loving Nigerians to reject any simplistic portrayal, at home or abroad, of this conflict as either religious or ethnic based.

On elections.
24. I have committed myself many times to ensure that elections are fully participatory, free and fair and that the Independent National Electoral Commission will be exactly INDEPENDENT and properly staffed and resourced. The ballot box is how we make our choice for the governments that rule in our name.

Security.
29. I want to assure you that as President, I will continue to work tirelessly to promote, protect and preserve what really matters: a united, peaceful, prosperous and secure Nigeria, where all, irrespective of background, can aspire to succeed.

You be the judge are you in any way satisfied with his actions and speech?

dainformant:
About 52 cows were crushed to death by an Abuja-bound train, Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdulrahman.

He said the command received a distress call of the accident at 11.45am, adding that he personally led principal staff of the command to the spots at Kasarami in Jere District of Kargarko Local Government Area of Kaduna.

“When we got to the spot, we found out that contrary to earlier reports of attack by insurgents, what actually happened was an accident,” the commissioner said.

According to him, some Fulani herders who passed the night at Kasarami asked if they could cross over with their cattle and were misinformed that there is no rail service on Sunday.

“It was when they were half way across the track, that a fast moving train from Rigasa station on its way to Abuja approached the spot where the cattle were crossing on a high speed and in the process, it crushed to death 52.”

He said 27 cattle that were still alive were ordered to be slaughtered and sold out to reduce the loss on the herder.

While noting that no human life was lost, he added, “The Fulani herders were on their way back to Katsina State. I had a meeting with their leaders and the farmers in the area to check future occurrence.”

Source; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2018/09/photos-of-cows-crushed-to-death-by-abuja-bound-train-as-52-die.html
The report says the Fulani herdsmen were returning to Katsina state! So all the way from Katsina state they came down to cause havoc! No wonder they are highly protected!

Daura must have been confirmed to be working for Saraki to tarnish the image of the Buhari led administration, hence his sack.

Like me, if you wondered why Saraki and the PDP's allegation/prediction on plans to impeach Saraki this day, even though dumb, came to pass, the reason is as in the title.

Was wondering why the PDP would allege there are plans to impeach Saraki even though it is clear to even the common man on the street that to make this happen, the APC needs 2/3 of the house which looks impossible at the moment. Little did I know Daura and the PDP were cooking something to mislead the public..and make it look like 'innocent Saraki is being witch-hunted by tyrant Buhari' ...

I mean, if you look at this critically well, you ll see absolutely no sense in what happened this morning. it was baseless

The same Federal government that has been begging the Senate on behalf of Nigerians to resume plenary cannot be the same Federal government that will give such order.

Well, Saraki got this script written well and Daura and his boys got it acted perfectly. But time will reveal more..

It should not come to people with reason why he wants to hold a world press conference tomorrow, where the atmosphere will be perfect to cry foul and further tarnish the image of this administration

You obviously did not use the malaria drugs given to you properly.what you Frank was your urine and proceeded to rub the drugs on your body. Now go for Agbo Jedi. You will be OK. Since when did saraki control DSS?
