Oyetola is a very brilliant guy but he was designed to fail as a governor by Rauf Aregbesola. Unfortunately, Nigerians are very ignorant of what the issues are so they tend to make the wrong political decisions at every election cycle.

Oyetola’s major offense was not executing big contracts and sharing money like Rauf did. Some, especially Osogbo people also hated him for fighting Rauf. But truth be told, what’s in Rauf’s legacy that should be continued? Crazy debt? Crazy religious policies? Crazy educational policies? None payment of salaries? What exactly?

The governor inherited a crippling debt portfolio from Rauf. The state’s monthly allocation was not even enough to meet the servicing of the debt left by Aregbesola not to talk of paying salaries and executing contracts. Still, he managed to keep the state together.

He had two choices as governor, take more crazy loans that the state can’t payback in the next 100 years or cut down on government projects and prioritize payment of salaries, repayment of loan and execution of only emergency projects. He choose the second option and got punished for it.

People, including political contractors simply wanted huge contracts to be awarded everywhere without caring about where the money would come from. They wanted a governor who would come to Osogbo round about and stand on the roof of his car and share money. Oyetola refused all these and they hated him.

I sincerely wish Ademola Adeleke well but I’m eagerly waiting to see what he will do differently considering the huge debt portfolio of the state.

1. Rauf was indeed a huge failure but what did his APC and government do? They rewarded him with Federal appointment.

2. Oyetola may have done well (under the circumstance) in his 4 yrs but its cheap, way too cheap for you or anyone to assert that Osun People endorsed his opponent because he was 'not wasteful' . this is glaring considering the following

a. The two major candidates squared went through the same contest in 2018, how did it go? are unaware that the people of Osun voted hugely for Adeleke in that election to the extent Oyetola couldn't find his bearing until the stage-managed rerun?

b. Would it shock you to know that Oyetola is considered by many in Osun to be a product and extension of the dismal performance of Raul ? It is perceived in such quarters that the same external forces that brought in Rauf (Dismal performance governor) are one and the same rooting for Oyetola and the people thus are determined to change things?

3. How come try to lampoon Oshogbo people for Oyetola's failure when Adeleke won in 17 out of 30 states? How did Adeleke get some votes in Ife LGAs to the extent of winning one of the LGAs?

4. With the unresolved intraparty conflict the bedeviled Osun APC prior to the election how could anyone have expected a fantastic outing for Oyetola?


Let me state that considering the dismal performance of APC National government, every APC aspirant need to do more to sell himself to the people if winning the election is desired
