President Muhammadu Buhari defeated Atiku Abaubakar, his main challenger, at the polling unit of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, on Saturday.

While the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured 87 votes in the presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) got just 18 votes.

Obasanjo had picked Atiku over Buhari, advising the president to quit politics.

Of course there will always be something and there has always be something. I just don't see any sensible reason to believe that that thing is the physical universe. The physical universe clearly decays. There is no argument about that. That means that, say what you will about energy, it is destined to decay in perpetuity barring some intervention of an external factor that must of necessity be greater than itself.

Thus, the physical universe does not self-exist. Something else made it. And it is that something else that sustains it and that can renew it or perpetuate it.

As for looking for something outside the Universe when I don't know everything there is to know about the universe, that is neither here nor there. There is no reason at all to consider the Universe self-existing. That, of necessity, points to some cause outside the Universe itself.

That thread ended up with fallacies. It was base on assumptions upon assumptions, as well base on deistic, Spinoza concept of God.

This thread here is focused on Allah existence. Why do Muslims think Allah exist and other Gods don't exist or Allah is the true God and other Gods are not?

There are gods that control the affair of every nation and territory. The idea that an Arabian god is the only god that trumps all other culture's and people gods is a supremacist ideology that doesn't add up.

The Igbos have Arunsi, Amadioha (god of thunder), Olisa, etc are their gods. The Yorubas have Ifa (god of divination), Ogun (god of iron), Osun (the river goddess), Sango (god of thunder), etc and these gods have been very practically effective in the society in the pre-islamic Igbo and Yoruba era.

Saying it is impossible to have another god except Allah is outright downgrading of our African mysticism to promote an Arab mysticism. And FYA, over 90% of Yoruba alfa still practice African religion but most of them hide it while some do not care. I have many Alfa (muslim clerics) friends who are 100% involved in IFA divination as a source of livelihood. Even in Saudi Arabia, they have some Islamic sect, especially the sufis, that are totally engaged in black magic and mysticism, most of who are patronized by the rich and influntial people.

The idea of 'there is no god but Allah' is a lie; other people and culture have their own gods and concepts of god.

Logic and reason. The human mind, design in living things and the nature of things like matter & time strongly suggest to me a God exists.

Deism rejects divine revelation as proposed by religion. The only revealing deists accept is the God revealed in Nature. We look at Nature and what we see in it makes us conclude there is a God. And we stop there.

Anything more than that is personal to the deist. For example, some deists pray (as they think to God), many like myself don't.

Some deists believe in an afterlife like I do, some don't.

Classical deists like Thomas Jefferson (the US president) believed in judgement and were cultural Christians in that they went to church, read the Bible liked aspects of Christianity etc etc. Some deists like Voltaire hated everything Christian. So much so many books till date misinform that Voltaire did not believe in God.
Religions think things like visions, dreams, miracles & prophecies are not just evidence for God but means by which God makes His will on how we should order our lives and worship Him in the form of a religion like Judaism, Islam or Hinduism. Deists don't think like that.
I don't know. And no deist can or would say because going beyond a belief in God to knowing God's desires and intentions are what religions like Christianity do.

Again, it's religions a d religious people that do that. Rather than hearing religious people speak on God's purpose I think God should speak for Himself. In a way there's no doubt, and specifically not through men. At this point if God talks through a donkey or snake to confirm a religion that will be nice since donkeys and snakes don't talk, doing so would clearly be supernatural.
