EkiranAlexmedia: Some major roads in Osogbo and Ilesa were on Saturday blocked by protesters, said to be displeased with the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal that sacked Senator Ademola Adeleke as governor.
The protesters, who prevented vehicular movement along Osogbo/Ikirun road, also blocked Gbongan/Osogbo road to traffic and beat up many commercial motorcyclists that were operating in the town.
While many commuters were stranded and had to trek long distances to their destinations, many business places did not open to customers over the fear of attack by the hoodlums.
At Igbona Area, the convoy of the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kehinde Longe, was stopped by some people believed to be members of the transport management committee.

Always known for taking sides with the people, the Presidential Candidate of People's Democratic Party, H.E Atiku Abubakar has released a video on his position on the January 31st deadline of the ongoing currency redesign program of the CBN.
In a video he released, Atiku Abubakar called for a slight extension of the monetary conversation policy to ease the burden of the policy on ordinary Nigerians especially the unbanked population in the rural areas.
Reports from commercial banks indicates that as at yesterday, virtually all banks were still paying the old naira notes to customers making withdrawal over the counter. New notes are only available at the ATMs where a daily withdrawal limit of 20,000 exists.
Most, traders including transporters have stopped collecting the old notes triggering crisis in market places and restaurants across country.
Atiku understands the economy, he understands our people, and understands how businesses work. With Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate they are poised to make our currency strong again and help our economy grow.
A vote for H.E Atiku Abubakar and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is a vote for two good men who mean well for Nigeria.
As One we can get it done!!!!!!

nwekeugochukwu: My Father, Ademola Adeleke Remains The Governor Of Osun State - Sina Rambo
Ademola Adeleke's son, Sina Rambo has stated that his father is still the governor of Osun State after the Tribunal court ruling on Friday January 27, IGBERETV reports.
Om Friday, the Osun Election Petitions Tribunal annulled the July 16 governorship election results and declared the former governor, Gboyega Oyetola, as the winner of the exercise.
Adeleke was declared winner of the governorship poll held back on July 16 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In August 2022, Gboyega Oyetola, who ran for re-election petitioned the tribunal to challenge the victory of Adeleke, with the claims that there was overvoting in 749 polling units across 10 LGAs of the state.
Delivering judgment on Friday, Jan. 27, the tribunal held that the governorship election was characterized by over-voting, adding that after deducting the excessive votes, Oyetola’s figures rose to 314, 921, while Adeleke’s came down to 290, 266.
The tribunal led by Justice Terste Kume then ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi. It directed that the certificate of return be issued to Oyetola instead.
Workch: Shut up joor, you know nothing about free trade zones. Scoilist.
My company's warehouse is at Lekki free trade zone and I cannot be arguing with an illiterate urchin who barely can afford to feed on nairaland about issues concerning businesses.
Free-trade zones are controlled by federal government, I don't just know how to explain simple terms to irredeemable morons
Says a chewing stick hawker and a senior member of Obi imps.
Workch: what a free trade zone means is any location where goods can be shipped, handled, manufactured, reconfigured and re-exported without the involvement of customs agencies.
So tell me how Lagos state can singlehandedly create Lekii free trade zone to stop a federal institution like Nigerian customs and FIRS without the involvement of the federal government.
Tinubu supporters are largely illiterate who are fond of spewing trash without proper information.
No state can create any free trade zone. You know what that means? You are telling federal government not to tax goods and services from that region, who is a state to tell federal government that?
Olodo. There are quite a lot of things a state cannot do except in partnership with the FG. A state cannot even take a foreign loan except with the volition of the FG so also is a free trade zone. What Tinubu did was to think and do with the help of the FG.Yes,with a lot of push and push.. If it were not for the bureaucracy of the FG,Lagos would have been another Dubai with the midas touch of Tinubu and his team. Tinubu is a genius.
LocalStandard1: Today, this evening is the first time I am holding the 200 Naira note as my own. I saw it with people but never owned it to give it a good scrutiny.
Holding this one now and giving it an up close look I have to say, I approve of the new 200 Naira. Even though it's only a change of ink, this color change fits it perfectly well and I love it.
It's the best designed Nigerian currency for me, and pictures do not do enough Justice to it.
Which one is yours?
The old one is better. Dont know why some people like mediocrity so much.
Newton2024: No matter how you express your beef and anger against him there are facts you cannot change which include;
1. He ran the most secured state in Nigeria during his tenure. Former IGP Abubarkar gave him 5 years accollades of the most secured state back to back for 5 years.
2. The minister of works then gave him the best accolade of a governor that built 800km of road network in 8years over 230 roads
3. Educationally , He met Anambra at 26th position in 2006 and left it at 1st by 2014 when he was leaving.
4. He was the only governor that met the millennium development goal in Nigeria in both education and health. In fact , Milinda and bill gate foundation gave him a personal gift of 1 million dollar for his achievement. Which he dropped in the state account rather than putting in his own private account.
5. He is the only former governor today that does not collect pension, gratuity, land gift and allowances since he left the govt in 2014.
6. When he became SEC chairman under President Jonathan, he told SEC to hold back all his allowance and entitlement as a Board chairman . He left without nothing. He said he does not need them.
7. When he was chairman of fidelity bank , he was entitled to two brand new cars annually. He told the board. I don't need them. Let me just come for meetings and go home.
You can only be angry with him. You cannot change the facts.
Lies upon lies. Obi was a failure as the governor of Anambra. Anambarians know better.Obi imps cannot change that fact..
