Kingkezie:Every one of them is doing it for his own pocket.Innoson is not going to do it for free. Both Dangote and Otedola have also helped govt one way or the other even very much more than Innoson.Everyone of them should be commended. Otedola gave 5 billion naira to the poverty and calamity stricken NE. Dangote happens to be one of the biggest philanthropists in the world.

tutudesz:Innoson is a smart guy.You have got exactly what he is going to do.Buy from his business partners and assemble and sell to the govt.It is faster than the govt trying to negotiate now which will take sometime. He did it with the fighter jets' parts too. The reason he keeps saying that he produces these things in Nigeria is what baffles everybody.Everybody knows we do not have metals, steels and electricity that will facilitate the production of these things.Experts have even said that it will take a while to produce these in a vehicle manufacturing environment.,.. this is even for the developed nations that have all the amenities. Innoson I say, is a really smart guy.Kudos to him. |
Opexzy:SOCIAL DISTANCING IS THE KEY. USA WAS SLOW.NIGERIA SHOULD GO FOR A LOCKDOWN.SOME OF THE GOVERNMENT HIGH RANKED OFFICIALS HAVE GOTTEN COVID 19,DISTANT YOURSELF FROM THEM. “To be honest, as a public health professional, I am deeply concerned about the U.S.,” says Lim, in Singapore. “It’s become politicized, making it difficult for the average citizen to know who to trust or what to believe.” The scarcity of diagnostic kits nationwide and delay in testing cases has also led experts to warn that there is no way of even knowing where the hotspots are in the U.S. right now. “The U.S. has enormous capacity,” says Wang, the Stanford professor. But he notes that it “needs to mount a coordinated effort, like Taiwan, because the infection impacts many aspects of society and really affects people’s lives.” David Hui, in Hong Kong, says it’s vital that the U.S. starts limiting social contacts to avoid a large-scale outbreak with the potential to overwhelm the health system. Schools need to be closed and mass gatherings canceled—something that is just now beginning to happen. “It’s clear that where people are more cautious, like Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, Taiwan, we see a relatively lower number of cases,” Hui says. “The facts speak for themselves.” |
NextD18:Shut up,OSU. |
Good. |
Oshigun:Yes bro, they are just full of envy, jealousy and hatred because Yorubas are the richest people in Nigeria and Yorubas remain the most successful people both at home and abroad. |
Mightymanna:Ibadan remains more developed than the entire Igboland even with its old part just like USA with its slums is more developed than Britain that has no slum and Lagos state with its slums is more developed than all the States in Nigeria. |
dignity33:What about the Yorubas telling you the truth that Osun is less poverty stricken than the entire Igboland, that Ogun state is more developed than than Anambra and IMO states combined, that Ibadan city is more developed than the entire Igboland. The truth is that all Yorubas no matter where they are in the world own and are from the same SW. As long as you are Yoruba, you are from Lagos,Oyo,Osun and all Yorubaland as a whole. |
There won't be an outbreak in Nigeria. We shall overcome covid-19.We will see the end of corona virus next week and everybody will be happy. |
Muna4real:lol Estates abound in Ibadan that one cannot say they are not more than 15 because new ones are springing up almost everyday.Google Akala way,it is a very long stretch of road that has a lot of estates on its right and left.It is like Lekki in Lagos. Those places City people Mag called estates are GRAs e.g Aerodrome GRA,Jericho GRA,Akobo GRA etc not your normal phase 1 etc estate in Owerri or any Igboland's hamlet that are sold for one million naira or less for the poor Igbo souls. Don't compare the rich Yorubas with you poor Igbos..Only Ibadan has numerous malls and 5 mega malls and all are doing great unlike the unprogressive malls which are not up to 5 in the entire Igboland because your people are running to the rich Yorubaland. Look at Igbos queueing up to come to Yorubaland to hawk chewing sticks and beg for alms from their rich Yoruba hosts.
|
Muna4real:Yes,progressive. Do you have these in your entire 5 SE hamlets that you call states? ![]() NEWS 10 POPULAR ESTATES IN IBADAN WHERE THE RICH LIVE written by City People Property Market October 9, 2017 Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State, is presently enjoying a serious boom in the real estate sector of the state. There has been an impressive turnaround in the sector unlike before. The obvious evidence of this development is how major players in the industry are now coming to Ibadan, to tap into the limitless opportunities the city can offer because the environment is peaceful and quite cheaper to run a business compared to Lagos and Abuja. Though most of them have their offices in those aforementioned places but the land seems to be greener in Ibadan; there are so many lands and new areas to develop. That was the potential the likes of Alhaji Tunde Ologburo’s Quikborn Nig. Ltd; Otunba Olumide Oshunshina and his Megamund Nig. Ltd (Carton Gate Estates) and few others saw long before now to have hugely invested in Ibadan real estate sector. Before Adron Homes & Properties and others lately joined the fray, they have all contributed to the development of that sector in building serene, classy estates with irresistible amenities which can be bought at reasonable prices, depending on one’s level and taste. This is in addition to the existing Government Reser ved Areas/Estates and privately owned estates. We also have other developers in Ibadan apart from the popular ones that are doing wonderfully well in the industry too. Out of these estates however, there are some that are very popular. Those that you don’t have to live in Ibadan to reckon with. While some of them are old estates built by the government, some are newly developed estates with master piece architectural designs. But guess what? Some of these estates don’t come cheap, they are exclusively for the super rich and influential personalities. In this special report however, City People Correspondent, Dare Adeniran presents to you 10 most popular estates where the rich live in Ibadan and why they are the most talked about. Read on. OKE AGALA ESTATE The total turnaround story of Oke-Agala Estate located at the notorious Igbo-Agala Yemetu area of Ibadan which used to serve as hideout of hoodlums, ritualists and men of the underworld, is quite an interesting one. Now it has been fully developed and a plot of land is sold there as high as over 20 million naira. It is a well structured estate with good road network and several amenities. IKOLABA GRA This is one of the few government reserved areas where the rich and powerful celebrities live in Ibadan. It is highly exclusive for people who can afford it. This is where we have Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Secretariat, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and others. IYAGANKU GRA Iyaganku G.R.A is exclusive for super rich and powerful people. It is a residential neighbourhood with breathtaking structures. This is where the likes of Chief Kola Daisi, Chief Bayo Adelabu, Senator Folarin and many influential people live in Ibadan. Glo Chairman, Chief Mike Adenuga also has his home (Gold Digger’s Place) within the estate. Many expertrates also live there. In fact, Iyaganku G.R.A is called billionaire G.R.A in Ibadan, with high tech infra structural facilities including a fully armed neighbourhood police station. ALALUBOSA GRA It won’t be out of line to describe Alalubo as Magodo of Ibadan. The estate is famous for being a place for the classy people. The selling point of the place, apart from the beautiful landscape, is the fact that it has large coverage areas, which now house many privately-owned estates, thereby making properties in this area a hot cake, as a plot of land is sold as high as 25 million naira, while landed property with structure goes for 35 to 40 million naira. KOLAPO ISHOLA ESTATE This is another fast developing estate near Akobo/General Gas axis. Though it was abandoned for many years but the estate has bounced back and it has since become developers’ favouri construction site, due to its location and space. Both land and developed property have turned gold here. Selling point of the estate however is the fact that its main road leads back to Dizzengolf, along Iwo-road. A plot land with C of O Title in this estate can’t be sold for less than 12 million naira. AERODROME ESTATE When the former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, proposed to convert the then abandoned Samonda local airport to a housing estate, many came against the idea but today the place has risen to become one of the most expensive and fast growing estates in Ibadan. At the initial stage, a plot of land was sold for about 3 million. But now the same land goes for between 15, 17 and 30 million, depending on location and sizes. Aerodrome GRA is a hot cake due to its location; it is on a well tarred major road, along Ojo Express road and a few metres away from the University of Ibadan. Privately owned estates are also springing up within the estate almost everyday. JERICHO This is another government-owned estate in Ibadan and its existence is dated back to the colonial era. But now many new structures are springing up every now and then. In fact, Odua group, in partnership with a privately owned real estate company, recently constructed two beautiful estates within the estate. ONIREKE GRA Though it is a mixture of rich individuals living in Onireke GRA but the estate is known to be populated by Lebanese in Ibadan and that has been the case for a very long time now, perhaps because of its closeness to Dugbe (Central Business District) where most of their companies/businesses are located. It is a fully developed high brow/low density residential hub. Land or property here is quite expensive too. AGODI GRA Apart from being a residential estate for the powerful people, Agodi GRA prides itself as a clean and serene environment. In fact, it could be best described as the seat and home of power. This is where the Oyo State Secretariat, Governor’s office and house, the Deputy Governor’s house and the First Lady’s office, Army Officers Mess are all located. It also has the prominent Justice Wale Babalakin crescent where a plot of land goes for 50 million and above. BODIJA ESTATE Bodija is one of the oldest and most popular estates in Ibadan. It has old and new sides mostly with old structures, especially the old Bodija side. New Bodija is an improved phase of the the estate with mind-blowing structures. What however can’t be taken away from the estate is the fact that it is a peaceful, cool area for some highly placed people in the society. Bodija is fully occupied and one can hardly get free land except for the very few transfers from old owners. A property here costs nothing less than 25 to 30 million naira. AKOBO ESTATE This estate is no doubt one of the biggest in Ibadan; it has many phases within it. There is General Gas, Akala Way and other privately developed estates within it. Here you see master piece structures just like the other high tech estates around and property/land doesn’t come cheap there. A plot of land goes for 20 million naira and above, depending on the part of the estate. Akobo, especially the Akala Way, started enjoying massive boom when ex-Gov. Adebayo Alao Akala upgraded the road that links Kute, Olorunda back to Akobo-Ojurin. Hence the raod was named “Akala Way”. Akobo has also become real estate investors’ favourite site as it now houses many privately developed estates. http://www.citypeopleonline.com/10-popular-estates-ibadan-rich-live/ |
Lawgod247:Igbos tall? I think some of the tallest people in Nigeria are Yorubas.People like Hakeem Olajuwon,Abdul Jabar etc. The tallest person in Nigeria is Afeez Agoro,a Yoruba guy. |
Gabriel004:Maybe that is why their region is so backward. Look at them queueing up to run to the rich and progressive Yorubaland to sell gala and beg for alms from their rich Yoruba hosts.

The US has approved the anti-malarial drug chloroquine for use as a treatment against the new coronavirus, President Donald Trump said Thursday. “We’re going to be able to make that drug available almost immediately, and that’s where the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has been so great,” Trump told reporters. “They’ve gone through the approval process — it’s been approved. They took it down from many, many months to immediate. So we’re going to be able to make that drug available by prescription.” https://t.guardian.ng/news/us-approves-anti-malarial-drug-to-treat-coronavirus-trump/ |
dignity33:Only God can remove tribalism from Igbos' blood..
|
dignity33:Igbos are good people just like other Nigerians. Igbos are basically traders who need people to buy their goods and services.SE basically cannot satisfy this need, they have to move out especially to thickly populated places like Lagos,Kano etc. Igbos are not doing this because they love Nigeria more than the Yorubas,Hausas,Edos,Ibibios etc but for their survival. Igbos have been loyal to PDP because they are founding fathers if PDP and they have consistently enjoyed huge recognition and patronage from PDP.Soludo,Okonjo and hosts of Igbos were recognised by Obasanjo,Gem even more than their kiths and kind because of PDP.Igbos do not vote for individuals but their PDP (which was very powerful before...not so now....and Igbos thought PDP could never be beaten....they still do because PDP has almost all the powerful and past leaders of Nigeria but God is the Omnipotent, the All Powerful. The rest is history)Igbo will always vote for PDP because of the obvious.Put a goat as candidate of PDP and Igbos will vote for it. Igbos are the most tribalised Nigerians even if every body has this trait in the world, Igbos are heavyweight champions with examples: The Sack of Non- Indigenes In Abia Monday, October 31, 2011 Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has unwittingly courted the wrath of many Nigerians by approving the disengagement of 3,000 non-Abia state indigenes from its public service. Although this is not the first time this will happen in a south eastern state, the acrimony this has generated shows that the exercise was carried out in bad faith and is capable of sending wrong and dangerous signals that do not augur well for the unity of this country. The government of Abia state justified its action by saying many Abia indigenes who were displaced from the North due to the violent Boko Haram attacks needed to be rehabilitated and provided employment. The other excuse is that the workforce had to be reduced to enable the government pay the new national minimum wage of N18,000. This same excuse of not being able to sustain the workforce with its lean resources was bandied about by military administrators of Enugu and Imo states in the 1990s when they massively retrenched non-indigenes of those states. As recently as 2004, erstwhile governor of Imo State, Achike Udenwa, also laid off non-indigenes of the state in the public service, giving a similar excuse. And while Governor Theodore Orji is busy sacking non-indigenes, his counterpart in Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is employing non-indigenes into political positions. There is belief in many quarters that Abia, one of the oil producing states in the country, could conveniently pay the minimum wage without any recourse to retrenchment of non-indigenes. We believe that the retrenchment of non-indigenes from Abia public service will undermine the harmonious relationship that exists between Abia state and other Igbo-speaking states in the south east whose indigenes are mostly affected by the exercise which kicked off on 1 October this year. It becomes even more worrisome if other states across the country decide to retaliate by sending non-indigenes packing from their public service. Governor Orji should not play into the hands of those intent on destabilising his government. The Igbo, and indeed any Nigerian, should find every state in Nigeria, especially the eastern states, his home. Treating an Igbo man as a stranger or non-indigene in Abia state is the worst form of discrimination he could be subjected to in his own country. This xenophobic policy contravenes the provisions of our constitution which allows Nigerians to live anywhere in the country and earn a living without any discrimination on the basis of his ethnic nationality, religious creed or state of origin. Eminent Igbo sons and daughters, irrespective of their political leaning, should intervene in this matter before its backlash spins out of control. The state government should come up with a better way of improving its internally generated revenue to enable it pay its workers’ wages. And if the workforce is too large and the government must retrench, those to be axed should not only be non-indigenes but also workers whose productivity has dwindled. Merit should be the criterion for retaining anyone and not discrimination on the basis of the person not being an indigene of Abia state. https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/10/31/the-sack-of-non-indigenes-in-abia/ 2.The greatest tribalism is when Igbo coup plotters killed every other tribe's leaders and left Igbo leaders. 3.Due to NCNC being very powerful in the South.Using the influence of NCNC even when the Yorubas were very much educated...Igbos became the first VC of UI,UNILAG and first rector of YABATECH.Tribalism at its worst. 4.During regional system, The Western region and the North recruited non indigenes into their government unlike the Eastern region. Etc. |
We would overcome coronavirus in Nigeria just like we did Ebola. |
Nigeria will come out better, stronger and prosperous. Amen. |
Nigeria will not enter recession. We will come out of this/these stronger. |

Unfortunately for the bigot Igbos,Yorubas are destined to be above you in all ramifications except petty business till eternity. This is not new: Azikiwe,Okpara,Ojukwu,,Achebe etc all cried their eyes out just trying to fight what the Most High God has destined. Yorubas have won more than 11 Grammy awards while these cry babies continually hate people better than them. Those Grammy awards were organised by Yorubas too now. |
