PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 10:53am On Feb 06, 2013
Walexz02: This is not a matter of being old brother, GEJ is young, what has he donehuh? Besides, Buhari can serve for only one term,( we really need that man).
We really dont need Buhari. If not for what this old fools (Buhari, IBB, OBJ et al) have done to our democracy with their federal character rubbish, Fashola and Oshiomole would have been good. But then, they will say they are both from south south. Just the way majority of us citizens do not want a Muslim Muslim ticket.
PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 10:47am On Feb 06, 2013
franchizy: Please there is an MOU between the Merger Parties and it will be signed, sealed and endorsed in d Court. I see no reason why the merger won't work with the MOU.
So stop dreaming please
It will take more than MOU or court endorsement for the merger to work. Buhari will want to be the head of the new party which certainly Tinubu will not agree and vice versa. I was made to understand that there is presently internal crisis in CPC which is currently factionalised. Unfortunately, Buhari's faction appears on the wrong side of the crisis as the party's registration certificate is said to be with the faction led by a senator. To be part of the merger, Buhari faction has to tender the party's registration certificate, which it does not have as parties in a merger must tender their certificate to INEC after which the party cease to exist. The faction with the certificate is said not to be keen on the merger. Beside that, CPC are the minority in the merger because ACN, ANPP will say they control more state unlike CPC which controls just one. Personal interest of the top shots will bring chaos to the party on the long run
PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 9:53am On Feb 06, 2013
Demdem: crap. u and ur single vote should ffuck off. Buhari will control more than 11million votes this time around and with sincere support of Fashola (millions from SW) and even OSobaba, Rochas, more will even come from SS/SE than before. The truth is the bulk of SS/SE will still stick to retardeen Jonathan. that has been added to the calculation. The beginning of the end of the killer party has started
Ok till then. Let's watch and see. That is if the merger will not even collapse before the end of 2013
PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 9:46am On Feb 06, 2013
Buhari should take a clue from IBB. Let him go and relax. There are other credible pple who feel the pains of Nigerians and can fight corruption.

dirifred: if Buhari is the flag bearer, then they will definitely fail again.
150% on point. Certainly they will fail with him.

Demdem: Who are u? how many heads do u have? How many votes do u control? Crap.
I am me. It is only in nairaland that u see pple calling Buhari's name for president. But just take note of this, BUHARI will never never be president again.
PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 9:30am On Feb 06, 2013
Mark my words also. BUHARI will never, i repeat never be president of the federal republic of Nigeria again.
PoliticsRe: Who Will Be The Presidential Candidate Of The Newly Merged Parties? by ritux: 9:23am On Feb 06, 2013
If Fashola is a Muslim, then Buhari/Fashola ticket will never see the light of the day.

That aside, i dont see this merger working because of the over bloated egos of the heavy weights from the different parties.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Nigerian Student Verbally Abused In A UK Hospital by ritux: 9:07pm On Feb 04, 2013
Those speaking about politicians sending their kids abroad are not well at all. Do you guys thing other average nigerians can't send their wards abroad.

My father f☺r example was never a politician. He retired in 2004 and saved his gratuity till 2011 so that my brother and i can further our education in the UK. This was a vow he made because he never got to a managerial position because he had only Hnd unlike others who had Bsc and masters.

So please dont think only politicians send their kids oversees.

Another secret is the way you package your CV. The way we write our CV here in Nigeria is totally different from the way CV is written in the UK and other European and Middle East countries.

pat077: do such company employ fresh graduate?
Yes they do. But I think they normally have time they employ fresh graduates. But most times, they employ people with experience. A friend of mine is leaving Naija for an employment with Abu dhabi oil company in the UAE

I finished my NYSC and travelled to UK for my masters. Now I am back in the country hoping to get a job soon. I have sent over 1500 CV within the last six month and I believe I will get a job soon. I will not give up. Like someone said above, I have gotten calls from foreign firms but none yielded positive news but I still believe this Feb will not pass me by God's grace. I have noticed something that security guards even have lot of say in submitting hard copy CV in firms because they will not even want you to go in.

Christianity EtcCAN Dares Catholic Church, Describes Them As Appendage Of PDP by ritux(op): 4:23pm On Jan 24, 2013
The Christian Association of Nigeria has dared Catholic block to pull out of the organization, accusing them of arrogance.

Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria, CBCN, on Wednesday in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital threatened to pull out of the National Christian body over the alleged romance of the CAN leadership with the federal government.

CAN however blamed CBCN action on the loss of the Presidency to Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, rather than being too close to the government as alleged. Oritsejafor also doubled as the President of CAN.

The Public Relations Officer of the 19 Northern States of CAN and Abuja, Mr. Sunny Oibe, in an interview with Journalists, Wednesday night also described the conference as an appendage of PDP, who speaks with the two sides of their mouth.

His words, “There is no division in CAN and we are all speaking with one language. There are some certain elements in the leadership of CBCN led by Cardinal John Onaiyekan because he lost PFN Presidency to Oritsejafor who has a lot of achievements.

“There is no need for anybody to lose sleep over the threat by Catholics to pull out of CAN because without them CAN will still continue. The constitution of CAN makes provision that membership can be terminated by any group that is misbehaving or any group can also terminate their membership.

“Why is it that when Catholics were in the leadership of CAN, every bloc supported them but now because power has changed hands, they are threatening to pull out and causing confusion?”

“They have been agitating that the Presidency of CAN must come from the South. They are appendage of PDP and PDP themselves. They are known for double standards. A man of God should not be double speaking”.

Accordding to Oibe who is also the spokesperson of the President of “Tarayar Ekklisiyar Kristi A Nijeriya”, a conglomeration of 13 church groups in CAN, Catholics should not mislead the public even if they want to pull out.

He added, “The Catholics are claiming that the  current CAN leadership has deviated from the vision of the founding fathers when they don’t even know how CAN came about. What did the Catholics know about the vision of the founding fathers?

“CAN was formed because of the marginalization of Christians in the North. The Christians in the North, particularly those of them from the TEKAN extraction came together and formed Northern Christian Association. It was that body that metamorphosed to CAN”.

He further disclosed that when CAN was to register during the Obasanjo’s administration, “the leadership was given to them because Catholics were in leadership; I want to correct that impression because they have been telling the world that they are the founding fathers of CAN.

“Catholics have accused the current CAN leadership led by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor of being pro-government. But if you look at the whole scenario, you will be able to find out who between Oritsejafor and Onaiyekan  is more close to government.

“The problem of Catholics is that they always display arrogance of knowledge. They don’t want to be under anybody but they want everybody to be under them. it doesn’t work like that because there is no seniority in CAN”.
