INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu has warned incumbent office holders against using state resources or apparatuses for their campaigns or against their opponents.

Yakubu sounded the caution yesterday in Abuja at a lecture titled: “Political corruption and other emerging issues for the 2019 elections”, organised by the Transition Monitoring Group (TMG) in partnership with Christian Voice to the People (V2P) and Hope Givers Initiative (HOG-I).

He noted that the commission has the power to monitor campaign financing and sources of funds according to the Constitution and the Electoral Act 2010 as amended.

Yakubu, who was represented by a National Commissioner, Prof. Antonia Okoosi-Simbine, noted that the commission, in line with its powers as provided in Section F(15) in the Third Schedule of the Constitution, is well-positioned to, among others, monitor the campaign and finances of political parties for the 2019 general elections.

He added:

"Another interesting area of campaign finance spending to watch out for is the use of state administrative resources by incumbents, particularly now that the campaigns have fully kicked off. Section 100 (2) of the EA provides that ‘state apparatus shall not be employed to the advantage or disadvantage of any political party or candidate at any election’.”

In response to the recent snubbing of Uche Jombo's directorial debut première by her "Best Friend" Omoni Oboli and subsequent scatting revelation by co-actress Ini Edo, popular blogger, Stella Dimoko Korkus AKA SDK has come out to advice the women to find a way of making peace to ensure they are not object of ridicule in the movie industry. The Advice is directed to Omoni Oboli as she has been labelled a user by the other stars - see what SDK had to say below:

@omonioboli and @uchejombo hmmmm I am wading into this becos I believe in the power of love and sisterhood. Omoni you didn’t do well by not attending Uche’s premiere after she supported you during yours. It’s not right but it’s ok if you insist.

A lot of talks going on now to encourage both of you to part ways but I encourage you to reach out and sort this out. Delay is not good. This brouhaha is not about a sister gossiping the other (that’s worse)it’s about not giving your shoulder when it was needed.

People are whispering that you are a user and used your friend Uche to climb the ladder. Shut them up by reaching out to Uche or prove them right by not doing so. @iniedo you did well by standing up for the right path. ....

I believe that true friendship still exists as long as gossip was not involved. Can’t wait to see you Ladies make up. Incase you one of those followers and wondering what my business is in this,I also wonder if it’s your business and if you want them to settle or break up completely. #goodandbaddontlastforever

OAP Daddyfreeze has slammed Nigerians with 2pac’s question asking: “If God needs 100,000 seater church buildings or shinny ceilings to talk to them.” over Paul Eneche's Largest Church building in the world. He took to his Instagram to reveal what the late Tupac Shakur said about Church buildings..

He wrote;

A special message from the late Tupac Shakur to Paul Enenche and any other Nigerian preacher whose conscience can not tell him that the world poverty capital doesn’t NOT need church auditoriums that can seat 100,000 people.
-
As far as I’m concerned Tupac is a greater prophet than all Nigerian pastors and GOs put together.
-
In my honest opinion, t’s an absolute waste of the resources of the body of Christ entrusted into the hands of these men.
-
I am still giving 1million Naira to Paul Enenche if he can prove with the scripture only that Christianity in nigeria needs such a wasteful building.

This is in fulfillment of the pledge she made shortly after her appointment as the Chancellor of the university in 2016 by the Governor of the State of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola.

“The decision to lay the foundation of the Teaching Hospital today is deliberate. Deliberate in the sense that I agreed with the proposal of the University Management that the foundation laying ceremony should coincide with the 7th convocation ceremonies and more importantly, as a mark of honour to the dynamic Governor of the State and Visitor to the University, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola before he leaves office,”

she said.

She continued:

The idea for this hospital was borne out of my love for the young ones, mothers and indeed humanity. The event of today is the fulfilment of my pledge when I was appointed Chancellor by the Visitor to the University, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. In Nigeria today, there are few children’s hospitals. If our children who are the future of this country do not have access to timely and qualitative medical services, then where lies the future of this country? We must do everything in our capacity to ensure that our children and teens have everything necessary for them to grow and excel, and one of such necessities is good healthcare services.

The Facility when completed will consist of a world class Community Health Unit,
Maternity& Neonatal Medicare, Research & Diagnostic Laboratories, State of the art operating Laboratories, cutting edge Diagnostic Imaging, inclusive of C.T Scan, M.R.I Scan Facility, Ultra-Sound Scanning Facilities, X-ray and Radiotherapy Suites, Lecture rooms, Necropsy and Morgue.

When the matter came up for further mention on Friday, the accused persons, Ayoade Akinibosun, Ademola Abraham, Ibikunle Ogunleye, Niyi Ogundiran and Salahu Azeez, were represented by Mathias Emeribe, as the only defence counsel.

The five-count charges preferred against the five suspects included conspiracy to commit robbery of five banks while armed with dangerous weapons and explosives, contrary to 2004 Criminal Law 1 subsection 2.

Also, the five accused persons were accused of committing armed robbery on five commercial banks while armed with dangerous weapons and explosives.

Others include alleged murder of nine police officers, including three female police officers and many unnamed residents of the ancient town of Offa during deadly armed robbery attack on five banks on April 5, 2018.

Also, they were charged with culpable homicide of nine police officers and many other innocent people during the deadly bank robbery, an offence punishable with death.

The suspects were also accused of being in possession of illegal firearms, including two AK 47 rifles and other dangerous weapons.

All the five suspects, who pleaded not guilty to all the five count charges preferred against them, also said that they were not in Offa town on the day of the armed robbery.

All the accused persons also said that they did not conspire with anyone to rob the banks or had any intention to kill anyone, adding that they had never held firearms.

Earlier the court had struck out the name of the first accused person, Michael Adikwu, said to have died in police custody, from the case after the prosecution, and the state Attorney General, Kamaldeen Ajibade, filed an application to amend the charge.

The highlight of Friday’s proceedings was the absence of compact disc, containing confessional video evidence, which the defence counsel said he was yet to lay his hands on.

Also, the prosecution said that he was not in possession of the disc, explaining that it was still in Police headquarters, Abuja, and yet to be released to him.

The presiding judge, Halima Salman, therefore, adjourned the matter till January

The man can be heard saying:

But the lady countered:

I can bring whomever I want, it's my house.

This angered the Nigerian man further and the referred to the other man as a "dirty boy". But the woman wasn't having it and asked him to get out of her house.

You tell his girlfriend to go and abort the baby because you want to be shagging this guy.

The woman continued to order him to get out of her house but he refused.

In the midst of the commotion, the other man lay in bed looking unbothered and didn't utter a word.

There's been a development in the family of the late South African Hip Hop legend, Jabulani Tsambo aka HHP, and this is one of the hottest news out of South Africa.

HHP's baby mama Lerato Khanye, who has a 13-year-old son with the rapper, died in the early hours of yesterday Nov 26 at a Johannesburg hospital. The exact circumstances surrounding Lerato Khanye's death are not clear but social media users are dragging HHP's wife in the wake of the death.

HHP, who committed suicide on October 24, 2018, was married to publicist Lerato Sengadi, whom he loved crazily, according to reports. He also had a son named Leano with his former partner Lerato Khanye.

It so happens that after HHP committed suicide last month and was buried, there was a bit of a misunderstanding as to who has a right to his estate.

Wife Sengadi with the help of the courts and the police established that she's the lawful wife and as a result, has a right to the late rapper's estate. This didn't go down well with HHP's family and there's been tension between them since.

Earlier this month, a family spokesperson, Nkululeko Ncane, took to Twitter to claim that HHP’s teenage son has been kicked out of the late rapper’s home in Randpark Ridge by Sengadi. Ncane shared photos of his belongings outside.

In the midst of the family drama, Lerato Khanye died. And social media users are now dragging Lerato Sengadi without proof.

Leano has now been orphaned after losing both his father and mother within weeks.

Two men have been arrested after allegedly kidnapping and gang-raping their former teacher in a rural community in South Africa.

The unnamed woman, a teacher at a high school near Marken, Limpopo, South Africa, was said to have been abducted from her home on Monday after two men broke in while she was asleep.

The two detainees, aged 18 and 20, are believed to be part of a group of men who tied her up with a rope before loading her into the boot of her VW Polo.

The men then allegedly gang raped her before dumping her in the bushes and fleeing in her car.
A police spokesperson said the suspects were ‘well known to the victim’ as previous students and neighbors.

‘Preliminary police investigations have since revealed that the two suspects involved in this chain of crime incidents are well known to the victim as she previously taught them at the same school and they are also staying in this village,’ said police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

‘During the arrest, one of the suspects was found in possession of the ignition keys of the victim’s car and later, the victim’s car was found abandoned in bushes near Marken,’ Ngoepe added.

‘It was also detected that the suspects made turns in gang-raping the victim and dumped her still tied in the bushes before they fled the scene with her motor vehicle VW Polo. Police opened cases of house breaking with intent to commit crime, kidnapping, armed robbery and rape,’ he said.

Police found the teacher dumped in the bushes along the road to Bakenburg outside Mokopane.
She was rushed to hospital and was eventually discharged on Sunday afternoon.
During the arrests, one of the men was found in possession of the teacher’s car keys and the car was later found abandoned in the bushes near Marken.
