That’s not true, it depends on the route you going about. Do you know as an engineer you can even practice here without certification for example? You just need someone to give you the right directives. Sincerely it’s not as hard as people think.

I used to work in banking operations and have made quite a profile in that area but I really am looking to move away from that career. I work as a software tester currently but I am training to become a full fledged software/web developer.

I will be landing Calgary early 2019 but my training might take a further 6 months for me to be comfortable in the software/web development domain.
How would you advise I roll ? Currently I am planning to land in Calgary, get any job and continue my training (its online) then manage the job till say sept 2019 when I would have had enough software development project on my profile to start looking for a software developer job.

Sometimes it feels like my plan is not well taught out, can you advise me ?

I have a Bsc and Msc Elect Eng but I am not willing to practice Engineering , I really enjoy coding.

What do you think ?

Hello bro, sometimes we might begin to look beyond our passion depending on the circumstances we find ourselves. I know that IT field is also very profitable if you can get into a very good organization or get a job with the government.
There are other short courses or programs you can do, that will impact positively in your career. In my city,engineering is hot cake but you know the reason you don’t want to continue in that field which I respect.
