Who is oppressing who?
Rather than stick to the facts, they resort to emotional abuses.

anonymous1759: If you've the money you can afford to seat on the front row. get the message before you comment. In Nigeria he would have barricaded everywhere with security feeling like a demigod but he's nobody there.
This reminds me of some Nigerian Governors sitting on Train like a mere passenger in obodoyibo He is not a nobody! You only assume so. All these emotional rant does not take away the fact that those seats are not meant for ordinary peeps. Fact! |

planetx: The person is not talking about how expensive the courtside seats are, but how he is just an ordinary black person nobody recognizes unlike Nigeria with security everywhere. And the people around him at the courtside looks like the average American joe nothing special about courtside seat. He is not an ordinary black person. Ordinary people do not sit court side at a Lakers game |

drakeli: Very expensive like $10,000? What do you mean very expensive? Is it $100 or less that is very expensive. That’s an amount even a college student can pay to seat there. So nobody cares who the hell he is. You do not know what you are talking about. Believe me, u do not. |

NLandIsHypocrit: When they're here, they're gods; but when they go abroad, they're like every other persons and no one seems to give a single 4k about them. Seats that close to court-side at a LAKERS game are very expensive. People do give a Bleep about peeps that had enough money to buy court-side seats tickets at a Lakers game. |

NwaAmaikpe:

Very timely correction, I was abashed and in a state of utmost flabbergastation when that story made the rounds. Though used to it, it still hurt a few nerves that my country of birth was the broth for a mediocre journalist's mockery.
Considering how much we've developed there, I knew there was no way a whole Lagos state could not combat a mere fire. Thank you for this Naptu2. While I commend your efforts at elucidating the incident, we should not lose sight of the true moral of that metaphorical picture.
There is a wild fire burning. Insecurity is rife, hunger is roaming, poverty is growing, disillusionment is dominant in the citizen's lives, the roads are in deplorable states, salaries are not prompt, most 'take-home' pays will only take you home sad yet prices of goods and services continue to skyrocket. You can not come out to protest against bad leadership or demand for better without repercussions. It is worse now because you can't do that either on the social media.
NwaAmaikpe will sit still when within sight of the crosshairs because I hate to imagine another pendulum making Mama Ramotu moan while I await the acceptance of a bail perfection.
But the truth is, Our homestead is on fire, we are burning, our future is threatened by flames. But it's the helpless citizens that are using buckets to put out the fire.
The roads are graded and maintained by landlord associations, electricity is self-provided through generators, private bore-holes are the only source of water in homes. Tuitions are handled by parents and wards; charms, mantles and vigilantes are relied on for security; Affordable housing provision is self-sought, folks now live in Eleko when they work in Iju.
The picture might not be a complete reflection of the response to the Lagos fire. But if it is not a perfect illustration of the present helplessness and self-reliance of the citizens, then I wonder what could be. Brilliant!!! |

His online account still shows that the decision has not been transferred to VAC. He too paid for courier delivery. Same situation with mine. Got the concluded mail on 27th August yet passport has not been returned till date. I filled the application withdrawal form at TLS today. I need my passport back. Complaint on the website, wrote UK , called UK and still no passport. I was shocked to meet peeps whose passport was held for 7 months and one held since 2017. Rubbish!!! |

Suuz: That was in 2017, I don’t know if it’s still thesame now and I don’t think it has anything to do with getting the visa or refusal, it just depends on the eco that my application was assigned to. During summer like this, na holiday dey most of them brain. Although during that time in 2017, most of the people who got theirs early and were first time applicant were refused and the first time applicants that got theirs late were given visas. (Just my opinion) Thanks. Mine is currently with them for almost two months now |

Three months for you to get the visa. Will those that were rejected have to wait for 3 months too? Is delay to return passport a good sign that the visa will be issued? Suuz: A lot of people have been experiencing delays, it’s not just you, you have to wait it out. When I applied for my first visa, it took 3months for the application to be processed and for me to get my passport back. |

Me and my family applied for UK tourist visa first week of August. Got an email on 27th that a decision has been made and TLS will contact me shortly. Up till today, no email, no further communications.
What got me bothered was my colleague who applied same week for a tourist visa have received his passport two weeks ago. He got the visa.
What exactly could be the issue?
I went to TLS and was told they are yet to receive our passports (my family)
I have a foreign training in another country sponsored by my company and now I need my passport back.
How do I go about this? Is this situation normal?
