psalms37: It's been quite difficult o, but I've learnt and mastered some tricks which I will share.
1. I have 3 children, all under 10 so what I do now is to buy cereals, milk and milo in paint bucket. A paint of milk is 7500 and can last for 2 months compare that to the tin or sachet and you'll note a massive difference (its factory produced so the quality is the same as the one you see in stores) 2. Cook in bulk to reduce gas cost and store in small freezer plastic bags. Thank God power has been quite constant 3. Next term, I plan to change the kids school fees to one closer to our house to cut off school bus fees. I've done my due diligence and I have found one that has exceelnt standard albeit more expensive than their current school 4. No more going out unnecessarily. Work, home, run errands, church finish. Better to call people to stay in touch, rather than have them turn up suddenly on top say they wan greet una. 5. Other things sha My sister, please more details on that paint bucket for milk and milo part. Abeg these kid must not lack protein source. How do l get it. Thanks |

toritseon: Hello guys... You guys are simply amazing! Every information up here was useful and thankfully, I received my grant today, 11th of July.
Visa Application Lodged: 1st of June
Biometrics: 9th of June
Medicals: 20th of June
Grant: 11th of July
Class Resumption: 18th of July
It was a "Do it yourself" project, proactively acting on vetted information received here, No agent used, No Contact from CO whatsoever.
*I guess the idea is to make the job easy for the CO, so they see your case file, treat and close-out quickly, moving to the next on queue*
Above all, God pulled it through. Faith-filled prayer truly works. There's absolutely nothing God can't do. Please didn't your school re-direct you to their agents like most would do? BSc or Masters? Lastly, your admission from the school, was it also do-it-yourself? Sorry plenty questions. |

afam4life: Pls wait for ASUU. Do your final year here, so that you can proceeds for masters and when you gets to Australia, you can still go for undergraduate course. This is to avoid the gap from when you finish SSCE till now. Please is it possible to apply for masters in business or human resources and then on arrival, change to Bachelor in Nursing? Would it not affect the visa since it was granted based on admission for masters. |

Please is it possible to use agents different from the ones recommended by the university. Would there be any negative implications.
Your response would be valuable. |

LegendHer0: Well that’s because you live in Lagos. If I live in Enugu and I marry Igbo woman for example, my kids will most likely speak more of Igbo because that is what they will need daily in Igboland to be able to have a convenient stay.
Now we are talking about USA, a neutral terrain where the first language basically is English. The indigenous language they ask people will be their ethnic one whether Yoruba/Igbo/Edoid languages.
Now if a Yoruba man get married to an Ibo man in USA and they ask the child what is their indigenous language, they might say Yoruba &Igbo or if they only need to say one for the sake of data, some might say Yoruba and some Igbo.
Hence, they will neutralize each other on both sides and they won’t still affect this data integrity.
Trust me if it had been that it was the Igbo that had larger presence than the Yoruba from the USA census, you will never see the Yoruba giving all this excuses you Ibos are giving on this thread. We will simply look away or find other countries where we are much too as our counter argument. Have you guys no shame? @ bolded: I agree, Igbo Amaka However, my point is that the report is about most spoken west African languages: Yoruba.. Not the most populous ethnic groups in the US. They are two different things |
I don't even argue with them. I always laugh at them[/quot
10 most spoken may not mean Yoruba's are more, but that Yoruba as a language is spoke more.
Bear in mind that most Igbo's won't speak igbo. My kid don't and l am only in lagos |

scholes0: Of the various African languages spoken in U.S Households, only a handful were statistically significant enough to obtain discrete codes and statistical representation. Of the West African languages represented, some such as Yoruba, Igbo and Wolof are stand alone languages, while others such as Edoid, Gbe and Manding languages are linguistic groupings of similar languages. The following are the 10 largest West African languages spoken in America. The big 3 are:
Yoruba - 149,358 Akan Languages (Incl. Twi) - 141,583 Igbo - 94,788
The other 7 represented languages are:
Manding Languages - 30,381 Wolof - 26,255 Fulah - 18,563 Kabuverdianu - 18,451 Gbe Languages - 17,212 Edoid Languages - 16,699 Ga - 10,542
This report is about the most spoken, not necessarily the number of igbos or Yoruba's in the US. I married a Yoruba but my kids don't speak Igbo. They speak Yoruba, and l am in Lagos oh. All my childhood friends who live in Australia, Canada and the US, none can boast of have children who speak Igbo even when they married Igbo's too. |

We could have had developments that will defy western science. Till date, there are things science can't explain, I watched a Ted talk about a white tourist/investigator who went to places to study such spiritual practices, he still couldn't explain it but he was 100% convinced these things work, he also talked about its endless possibilities but then we Africans are sleeping. Kelvinhunta: I never said there is anything wrong in washing clothes for a living, there is always a big difference between reading and understanding indeed. I was sarcastically referring to him calling all his customers drug addicts and how they will respond to his business. You: "U mean u wash clothes for a living? And without drug takers clothes u will stave? I wonder if ur shop would survive if they see this ur post"Him: "l have found all manners of drugs in the pockets of young people who bring their clothes to my laundry shop".Yes you didn't expressly say it but your first question implied it. And @the bolded, you are correct! You need to read, this time slowly to aid your understanding: he didn't call all his customers drug addicts but said: 'l have found all manners of drugs in the pockets of young people'.
For sarcasm, you did a poor job. There is nothing remotely resembling it. In fact, it was a feeble and lame attempt at sarcasm. You even wondered if his shop will survive when they see his post. Are you so dumb as to realise that there is no way to associate his physical shop(without mention of address) with a moniker on a faceless forum like Nairaland? There is always a big difference between reading and understanding indeed!!! |

Cousin9999: 1. The average American is an ídíot. Outside of the northeast, it's basically village people only while village people are uneducated, Americans are just stúpid.
2. The average American doesn't "understand" people outside their town or region, so there's no reason to believe most can grasp a different culture. And they confirm their ignorance every day regarding other cultures. Their cultural observations are garbage.
3. Oyinbos are deranged, racist m0r0ns. Their opinions on anyone who isn't white can't be trusted. It's like asking what an Arab thinks about Jews.
4. Americans are lazy af, and would rather do anything besides work to make money. That of course includes posting complete bs on YT.
5. It's common knowledge that people post bs on YT. And that people like that oyinbo will film for days or weeks to get the footage they want, and mangle the footage to make it more extreme. If that doesn't work, they'll pay people to fake it.
6. Many Americans are as insecure as they are stúpid. They love spreading lies (and consuming them) about virtually any foreign country, including every European country. It literally bothers them to think that someone will leave the US and enjoy their life, or that people in other countries are happy.
7. Yes, this problem exists. But it doesn't change the fact that oyinbos are notorious liars. Trash....Absolutely |
