Agriculture / Re: Farmers, How Are You Coping With Insecurity And Herdsmen Activities? by Rockyfancino(m): 4:31pm On May 01
Earthstorms:

Relocate to delta state. I can give you free land to farm.

See the electric fence Energizer I bought from china. Each one can power 40 km of electric fence.

It will power the fence with 12,000 volts of electricity, cows can not cross it.

It will be powered by solar with battery backup. I plan to use it to protect my farm from cows and thieves that are stealing my plantain.
How big is your fencing? How much power are you using?
Fashion / Re: Helping The Poor These Days Is Very Dangerous by Rockyfancino(m): 11:24am On May 01
Typical human nature. First rule is that do not give unsolicited helps, it can backfire many times as everyone is not the same. Some will appreciate, many will even devalue the what is given is below them. Even the ones that ask for help can sometimes later turnaround to harm you when they start becoming entitled.

Only give when it's really asked for, or use your gut to determine who to give to and don't always be available. Being too available to helps can put you in the most uncomfortable position sometimes. Live this life with wisdom.

Politics / Re: Tolu Ogunlesi Replies Peter Obi On Ukraine's Grains by Rockyfancino(m): 12:38am On Apr 14
Exousiang01:

You are being more emotional than logical.
Unfortunately the realities of life doesn't care about emotions but about logic.

Ukraine has remain among the world largest producers of grain despite the war.
More over it is not coming directly from Ukraine.

Let me ask you a question now: You how much have you contributed to Agriculture in Nigeria.
If you haven't contributed to Agriculture in anyway, you really don't have the bragging right to playdown the country.
While some of you sit and complain many others are seeing opportunities.
I have an exotic farm for exotic meat production( what you call bushmeat)
I am a castor Beans farmer.
I am a great lover of groundnut, from the raw, to the fried to best of all the groundnut soup, finding out how expensive groundnut has become, I am going into the cultivation of ground nut farm, already in the research stage to get the best yielding seeds.... I will be reducing the scarcity and also making money, I sale castor oil and also export.

Aside from complaining what have you done to add something to the economy sir.
Mind you I am still a staff in another in another company....
As grains no dey you don plant one seed?
I have a friend who has so far planted 1000 coconuts, he has started harvesting, he wants to increase his stands to 2000 and more, he is looking at exportation, something to bring in FX. What are you doing aside complaining.
I have not bought foreign rice in the last couple of years, my rice plantation is just a few acres which I donate to the widows in my village but I have not bought foreign rice, can you swear that you haven't eaten foreign rice in the last two days?
Hello sir, sorry to bother you. I am just doing some research on agriculture that lead me to this post. I would like to learn about a thing or two, I have sent you an email via nairaland and your very much will appreciate your reply. Thank you.

Your expert advise is needed here, a Friend of mine is in talks with a company in Europe that wants some Mineral products to be supplied them, they asked for a price quote which he has sent, and this morning got an email from them in which they were asking for PAYMENT AT PORT OF DISCHARGE as against the FOB,APAPA PORT he asked for.
Is it advisable to follow through on this deal or should he insist on the FOB deal instead?
For seasoned exporters, how do you advise he approaches this deal?
Was he able to export it?

Health / What Is The English Name For "Ina Orun" by Rockyfancino(m): 10:12pm On Mar 31
It's like a skin condition I think. The Yorubas call it Ina Orun. The symptoms is itching all over the body and something that looks like rashes all over the body.
Car Talk / Re: Peugeot 504 Price In 1975 Vs Price Of Bread In 2024 by Rockyfancino(m): 7:54pm On Mar 13
jazzman7711:
In 1975, minimum wage was like 80 naira a month, so that Peugeot you are looking at was beyond the reach of average Nigerians.

Back then things were hard, and food was costly, especially meat.

Back then we ate one or two small pieces of meat with the rice. Nothing like ‘assorted’ back then.
But now that you're a wealthy man, assist my life

Read the second paragraph carefully to see that the company is not doing well at all.

Their increased income is not due to their production or sales but due to promissory notes and "fixed depositis".

Let's stop deluding ourselves.
I had to start wondering if I was the one didn't read it well or something after reading through a few comments

Looks nice. One of the advantage here in Nigeria is that €15 will get you so much than that size. Nigeria has cheap food. These days, I don't even know if there are still cheap 😂

Thank you for your enlightening comments. I would like to ask about the prices for the license in the locations you are familiar with.
What is the cost of erection bill from your most recent knowledge and are the bills according to billboard sizes?

Also, do I have to get a license and erection bill for every single billboard?

I am trying to see if I can afford entering this business in 2024. Thank you

This thread has been very enlightening. From the little I've read so far, I can see that it will cost a lot. I wonder if one can start small.

Definitely, you are an expert in this business.
Wanted to make an enquiry about the business during the week but it skipped my mind. Have been wanting to start this business in Abuja for years now. I know it must involve several registration with all these associations but never knew the price can be up to this. Chai... The money no be small money o
Well done sire and happy new year. I would like to ask if you still did go into this business or at least I want to know more about the cost, because you mentioned you didn't expect it to be that high.

Agriculture / Re: Estimated Cost Of Farming 1 Hectare Of Cassava by Rockyfancino(m): 8:41pm On Nov 29, 2023
eminikansoso:
Forget about these Internet farmers.
They know nothing about farming just look at their analysis.
Now Let me educate you on cassava farming business.
Let assume you want to farm on an hectare of land which is 100m by 100m equal to 10,000m square.
Land clearing during the january /February period will cost you 15000 to 25000 depend on the locations.
Next stage is Tilling and Ridges by tractor or manual, but tractor will be much better and will cost you around 20,000 to 30,000 depend on your locations.
Other stages include herbicide spraying and planting of cassava, you will need like 4 litres of herbicides and 50 bundles of cassava stems for 1 hectare of cassava farm which will cause you around 75,000 for proper planting of 1 meter spacing.
It take cause 9 to 12 months to reach maturity stage and it depends on the species.
Harvesting is done by hand and like me I sell by ton no further processing because of time and stress involve.
For an hectare of cassava farm highest I have uproot is about 63 tons about 2 years ago and was sold at 22500 per ton then.
Thanks
cassava farming is very lucrative no magic about it but it take time.
Are you still into cassava farming, I would like to ask some questions please
