Politics / Re: Ribadu's Removal Is Long Overdue? by roflmao: 3:19am On Jan 05, 2008 |
I could care less Ribadu ain't no saint. I could care less he was used by OBJ against specific targets. They are all enemies of Nigeria and I'd rather political careers are deaded under the guise of anti-corruption than not. They're all guilty of it anyway and long as their respective cliques diminish by one as they days go by I'd take it. In my dreams I yearn for that when day when we shall stand up to say we've finally had enough: go on rampage and roast all these fat bastards living large with our money. It's revolution people and no country in the developed world we so admired achieved their success without it. We put fear in the government so that those we've chosen to serve us know that they're not there have better lives at our expense. They must not sit billions of our lands wealth when we we struggle to put garri on our dinner table. But like I said this is in my dream, Peace out. |

Career / Re: The Lord is my Shepherd by roflmao: 4:26am On Nov 26, 2007 |
Well Crossroads, Obalende and myself got somethings in common. I've actually been in UK for 7 years now and I haven't being home in that time - mainly due to financial reasons. I had to sought ways to fund my education here so I had to sacrifice trips home as they'd only make life harder financially plus my Dad was completely opposed to it anyway. Unlike Crossroads I came here as a 16yr old, alone and I knew no one so I got the taste of the bitterness and harshness immediately in its fullness. I never liked it here and never will. Anyway my situation didn't really allow me the luxury to think about it too much. I lived my life like a deployed soldier waiting for that day when the enemy would surrender. The only difference is that I knew when my enemy would surrender. That day I'd complete my university degree. My struggle through the years felt so much like a burden on my shoulders. I got the break I so much needed this summer after my degree when I went to the US for 4months. Again I was there alone and knew no one but this time I wasn't 16yrs old and I was already so exposed to the Western culture. I was there for one reason only: to forget my problems and hassles in the UK and chill out like never before. And I did just that as best as I could. The weather was perfect, the people were livelier, and most importantly I had nothing on my mind. It was the best summer of my entire life. The latter half of my time in the US which I spent as an Intern was even more captivating. I worked at an Institute I really liked, a project I was motivated to work on, and with fantastic people I am very happy to have known. To cap it all the Institute wanted me to come back and work for them on a permanent basis. I'd always dreamt of leaving UK for North America but I never thought I'd get the opportunity so soon. So I left the US for the UK at the end of summer excited about my "quick" return and final adios to 'mama charlie'. My decision wouldn't be so starightforward however. On my return to the UK a friend of mine raised a compelling point: I have only 3yrs to stay here to get a permanent residence. Stay a year more and I'd be eligible for British Citizenship. Now by virtue of my UK degree I get a year pemit to work on the International Graduate Scheme meaning my permanent residency is only 2yrs away. To make matters worse my US work permit is going to take longer than I'd like. The bureaucratic formalities to go through is extensive and the longer I stay here the more compelling it is to go with the less favoured UK option. I don't want to stay here but it appears I'm going to have to. I'm naturally a realist and mostly go with my head as opposed to passionaty heart so I figured I put up with it 7yrs already anyway why not wait it out and finish the job? At least I'll solve the biggest problem that's been hindering my chances for so long and have comfort of a degree of certainty in my future. I won't really say I'm confused about what to do. I'd like to go to Nigeria but I know that's a far-fetched dream for me. I can't fit in anymore. I've spent the defining years of my life here and sad as it is I'll feel comfortable here that I'd in Nigeria. Nigeria is not for you if you're not willing to be part of the pathetic political elites who have and, are still running that country to ruins. The grass does not seem green on that side to me. I don't believe it does to the 60% plus of the population living below the poverty line. |

All you religious fanatics need to STFU!!! Heck is wrong with y'all? The level of brainwashing, bamboozling, and "zombieism" amongst y'all is just distasteful and pitiful. What's wrong with questioning God? That's why we are humans and not just an ordinary animal. We have a sense of reasoning and thought to understand our world as a whole. And before you all start crying for my crucifixion I'm a Christian (well, I like to think so!) like you all but being a Christian doesn't we fail to welcome discussion that questions God. |
Religion / Re: Senator Sues God Over Natural Disasters by roflmao: 3:05pm On Sep 21, 2007 |
And God "responds"! I'm loving this, and by the way co-sign Shaunscot. You guys take things toooooo seriously. And I damn sure will bear witness against God if I'm called upon. That dude up there needs to take responsibility for his actions (as you religious heads - Christians and Muslims - claim) . He needs to explain himself and if found guilty they lock his ass up. I for one would like this to be a Federal case diligently proposing the US government re-open Alcatraz and lock him there. "Gitmo" would also be suitable otherwise. No one should be above the law. |

Politics / Re: Good Things Happening In Nigeria by roflmao: 4:55am On May 07, 2007 |
This what I been telling cats. Obasanjo may not be a Saint but the guy has been impressive during his time in power. We can't expect him to turn Nigeria into a major global force is 8 years. All he can do is lay the foundation for future developments to continue seamlessly and I believe he's done well in that regard. It is particularly important that the next President is a person of concrete and objective ideas not one who's likely to use his position to pursue a personal vendetta. I thin we can all agree that Yar'Adua is the most credible and perhaps most capable of all the three candidates at the last election. I cannot give an assessment on the margin of his victory but we'll be deceiving ourselves if we actually want to believe that he didn't get the most votes, rigging aside. Thanks for the new Jen33. Much props! |

mr me too:I told you not to bother arguing with these shmucks who don't know jack shyt about rap. It's just preposterous seeing a so called rap fan make a list of top MC's and seeing laughable entries like Dr Dre, Game, and 50 Cent while Eminem just scrapes in, and Nas, Jay, Kool G, Rakim, KRS, and em don't feature! Pure comedy. Just leave these clowns alone to keep listening to Black Face and their Rugged Man. I don't waste my time discussing with em cos they're allergic to researching stuffs and if you try shown em things their inferiority complex kicks in and they get emotional. I'm out! |

Romance / Re: How To Toast White Girls In London? by roflmao: 5:29pm On Apr 27, 2007 |
SMH @ some of ya'll. alabiyemmy is the truth! You can approach any girl any where. It's all about the setting and most importantly your game. You need to measure up your game and set out where it matches best. If your game is whack then it'll be hard making an impression on a girl you see at the bus stop or a public place for that matter. In that case you're best to follow other suggestions - clubs and bars. These places exist for the sole purpose of your intentions. Everyone know what time it is and you got a wide range to choose from - If one fronts, be easy and move to another. It's that simple! However, if your game is ultra-whack you need a desperate solution: Forget London all together. Your Green Zone will have to be outside London. Over there black folks are rare commodity. White broads will approach you. All you gotta do maintain, play it cool and do ya thang! However, with a gay ass screen name like that I do not believe you fit in any of the above categories. It's fair to presume you have no game at all. Solution: forget girls. They are not meant for you. I would've said you try brothels but I honestly don't think you deserve those ones. Either become a Priest or be contented with what your hand has to offer! Peace. |
Computers / Re: Formatting Window Vista And Reloading Xp by roflmao: 4:32pm On Apr 25, 2007 |
Shame Vista hasn't formed a good relationship with you, but I'm can't seem to undertsand what do you mean by "I want to format the Vista"? I'll think your intention is to install XP over Vista and all you need do is pop in your XP disk to install. There's a prompt during the set up stages that allows you delete existing partions and format a location to install XP, |

I'll be surprised if there's a Nigerian rock band. Black people gave up rock a long time ago. It was a token of our charity to white folks to address the void in their music making. True story. |
Sports / Re: Calling All Tennis Fans by roflmao: 8:30pm On Apr 13, 2007 |
Shame on you Seun and Mustay! Watching tennis to masturbate over the visual images of the WTA players Well I am a tennis fan and I love the game for what it is. I generally watch the ATP match but I do follow the WTA as well. I can't call it but watching WTA matches is like watching female football, you tend to get frustrated because you've been so used to the male version(Female tennis is by faaaaaaaaaaar bearable compared to female football though, at least, er,, er,, you can simply choose that you only want to see how hot Vaidisova or Ivanovic is - yes, yes, I also do it sometimes ). However I do like to watch JHH or Mauresmo play because their game is just beautiful to watch(but not for my alternate reason though ) especially JHH's backhand, And those asking for the next Nigerian tennis champ needn't look no further than here. That's right I've finally decided to put Nadal in his place and ask Federer to return the No 1 ranking I loaned him! I'm not ready to announce my arrival yet but as my fellow Nigerians you should be the first to know this so when I make my grand entrance you'll be saying to your friends: "I told you there's gonna be a new Nigerian kid on the block soon". In the mean time let's just keep this between us as I wouldn't like Federer and Nadal to know they'll both be demoted to world nos 2 & 3 so soon. |

Massa was a chump! Kimi would've done the job if he'd started on pole. But on side note Ferrari is just toiling with McLaren. We all know "Alfonso" and his sidekick need all the point they can scramble together at the start of the season because they both won't be seeing the Ferraris' brake lights when the anhilation begins. |

Computers / Re: Software To Validate My Copy Of Windows by roflmao: 7:31pm On Apr 07, 2007 |
I know. That will be a "genuine" copy of Windows! If you ain't got that it's tough. If you've installed WGA on an illegitimate Windows then you have to manually alter system files to remove the nagging notifications. If you can get your hands on genuine Windows key that matches your Windows version you can use some third party utilitities to change the current key to the genuine one. |

Sports / Re: Tennis: Masters Series! by roflmao: 2:55am On Mar 31, 2007 |
That's part of the frustrations I get with Murray: unexplainable "out-of-the-blue" acute inconsistence! He plays awesome to beat a top player Roddick one round and then put on a sub-par performance the next round, SMH. Nadal got spanked fair and square by a better player on the day. Wasn't he "injured" when he bageled Del Potro in the previous round? And BTW Seun, that was the final match in California not the semi a couple of days ago. I have to say both finalist thoroughly deserve that title but I'll be rooting for Djokovic just because he a young thundercat like myself, er, okay may be I ain't young like him but I'm closer to him than Canas agewise, yaaay! |
Sports / Re: Tennis: Masters Series! by roflmao: 2:57am On Mar 30, 2007 |
That Djokovic victory caught me off-guard completely. As good a player as he is I never thought he could actually pull that one off especially after being blackballed just a week ago in California. He's got my respect, at least for now. Shame he will be playing Murray next though. I'd have love to see them both in the final. These youngies have come out all gunz blazing so early this season slapping the ol' heads off-court left right and center. Just a pity my favourite - Gasquet - is yet to find that consistency to take him to the next level. Oh well, it's only a matter of time. Just a matter of time. |
Computers / Re: Running Two Operating Systems On One PC by roflmao: 4:38am On Mar 26, 2007 |
sbucareer pretty much laid it down. My only additions: 1. Repeating sbucareer's comments: You MUST install Windows first. 2. I see you have quite a large disk space so sizing the partitions shouldn't be too hard but things depend on how you use your machines. My point is that since both cannot access each other's file system where you keep your personal files and data is important. I run Vista and Ubuntu and although I use Ubuntu more often sometimes I'll need to work on Vista. To address the situation I have a separate FAT32 partition where I store my personal stuff which allows me to access(i.e Read + Write) my stuff independently of which OS I'm running but this is my setting. Handling FAT32 file systen is a well implemented in both. You may choose to set up your differently. Linux can access NTFS with Read access and although there are third party plug-ins to allow write access I WOULD NOT recommend it. Windows cannot access Ext2/Ext3 (Linux's file system) naturally but there is a third party plug-in(which I also have installed and use sometimes ) that allows you Read and Write access to your Linux partition and although I haven't had or heard it misbehave I still wouldn't recommend it. Overall partitions is a very tricky area that you should tread carefully unless you have good experience and knowledge on them, and even if you do you should still play safe. A rule of thumb is that you have a back-up of what's most important to you externally because you may have to re-install some thing, some time when things to wrong. If you use you Windows more often and Linux sparingly then you may simply keep your stuff on your Windows partition and mount NTFS whenever you boot into Linux. If you're using Linux more often then I'll assume you're a Linux head and I need say no more. |
