@op What you need is a revival through the infilling of the holy spirit. The bible says if the same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he would QUICKEN your mortal body.

The holy spirit is the one who gives you the thirst for the word of God. When you pray, there are no special "right" words. Just see God as a loving father and talk to him in yout own way. Ask him to forgive you, give you a new heart, and fill you with his spirit.

Then if the church where your parents attend is a prosperity preaching church or a church of rules and regulations, dont go there. Find a church that places emphasis on the bible and spirituality. When you do these things, you would see changes.
