Is it your desire to score within the distinction range (70% and above) in all your tests and examinations? Do you desire to graduate from the university with outstanding results with an appealing transcript? Have you longed to be named as the best graduating student of your class, your faculty or even the entire university? There is one secret to acheive it, same way academic giants acheived theirs. That secret is enshrined in how you study.

Cramming your notes and required text books and materials will not give you good grades and make you academically bright. Cliche right? But its true. Now look at this. Understanding the material, notes and class lectures wont give you your desired academic success either. Shocking right? Its true. You can attest to the fact that you may have done either of these two but havent seen significant changes in your grades.
What then is the solution? Understanding PLUS cramming is the secret!

We hear lecturers and other academic speakers advising students never to cram but to simply understand what they are being taught. They didnt tell you the whole story. A vital ingredient is missing from the pot of soup.
When you understand a material only but dont cram the text word for word, cramming the terms and the context that an authority delivered the message, you appear amateurish. This would show in your write ups in essays and you would always be average in your objective questions. This is because, you may understand what you want to say, but you would use layman terms to express yourself, instead of delivering your answers in an academic tone, thus appearing as if a road side groundnut seller wrote the essay. You would score low.
When you're asked to define Electromagnetism, and you answer by saying"I cant really remember the terms though but it means when current or electricity and magnet power work together to acheive an aim " you can expect the examiner to throw your scripts into the trash bin. A different scenario would occur if you defined the term exactly as it was stated in the textbooks and then proceed to explain what it means using the terms of the field in the right context. You then appear educated and an authority as far as that subject is concerned and gain maximum marks.

Therefore, when studying you can approach it in two forms. One form either by first cramming the material and making sure you can say it by heart and then proceed to try and understand what its talking about in such a way that u can explain it to anyone and apply it, or you first take your time to understand the topic and then go on to thoroughly memorise the material.

When you do this, there is no exam you wont come up on top and be among the best in your class and always score above the 70th percentile. This is how to be academically excellent.

Because....people do not recall a cancelled wedding....but will talk for years about the spectacular divorce of that big boy and that big girl.

I sure would remember a cancelled wedding for years. Better to be sure even before planning the wedding. Nigerians nowadays, evry small thing marriage.

Since u dont have the money to renovate the buildings, please be reminded that renovating them isnt your job. Is it a private school, reach out to the owners and appeal to them to renovate it. Is it a public school, reach the local govt chairman, or go as far as the state govt reminding them of how bad the school buildings are. Asking money from the villagers is a no no, cos if they had the money, why would they send their wards to such school? And youd have a hard time convincing MTN or the likes that u dont have an ulterior motive asking them for money to rebuild a school, when you havent reached the owners of the school.

@op Did the bible limit its rules on decent dressing to when going to church or on how a christian should dress at all times? Why making it specific to when attending church? Is Gods house a building or we humans are the temple of God?

Its easy to know the tribe of the owners of this company @post. Nigeria would never change.

All these things are just deceitful. There's nothing a first class holder does in an organization that a third class or even an SSCE holder cannot do.

I always say something: if you need diligence & hardworkers, just pick the first class students, but if you need intelligence & wisdom, throw open your vacancy. Some third class guys are very intelligent.

Intelligence and wisdom without diligence and hard work is totally useless and is not profitable. Therefore from ur statements, the first class people again are very much needed.

May God have mercy and heal this woman. If the Lord decides to hold our sins against us, Who shall stand? We are all sinners. He may have had a stroke or a cardiac arrest. Let's always ensure we advice our older relations to always go to the hospital regularly to get their blood pressures checked and other relevant tests done.

@MissyMassy Having another baby is not a problem. But the motive for having that third child is the area to be a little worried. If your planning on having the third one because you need a son, it really isn't healthy psychologically. What if the next one is another girl? It may make you slip deeply into depression. Depression is not an easy disorder to manage. Prevention is best. So I advocate that you treat the main issue which is your mentality concerning gender of your children. Learn to love and be comfortable with whatever gender you have. See a psychologist if you have to. Google up families with predominant successful girls in order to receive encouragement. Maybe also make friends with women who had all girls and whose girls are doing well. Only when you solved this psychological issue can u then proceed to have another baby if you want. Forget about what others say. If you aren't proud of what you have first, no one can be proud of them for you. It has to start with you. Learning to love yourself and what you have is the greatest love of all.
