Amaechi made a mistake by going public! He should have engaged Gbenga Ashafa privately before going public. I believe that if this has been done quietly, the President would have sent a supplementary budget to include the missing items. Gbenga Ashafa is not the Chairman of the National Assembly while Rotimi Amaechi is not the Head of the Executive! |
On Point! I completely align myself with you on this! If all these controversies are being generated prior to passing this budget, then I begin to wonder the type of controversies that will follow budget implementation. The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. - Dan Millman |
onatisi:I agree with you on this 100%. |
Very encouraging! |
Mynd44:It is still the worst! Then, it was after March 29 2014 when PDP lost the Presidential elections. There was a reason and after deliberations, it was resolved. Fuel came in abundance. Now I ask you, my dear moderator, what is the reason for this current scarcity? Secondly, have you been to the domestic wings of our Airport this period and notice how flights are 'massively' delayed? What is the reason we are suffering this much under a 'Progressive' govt? |
OP, what is your point? I guess you just want to create a thread...that is good. I score you high for opening a thread. But again, what is your point? Nigerians bought fuel at 140ngn at a time when the government then completely deregulated the d/S. Then there was a massive strike action by organised labour and CSO that paralyzed all Economic Activities in Nigeria. Today, the official price of is 86ngn and Nigerians are suffering acute PMS scarcity and you draw up a post of 2012 to sedate their pain or what? What exactly is your point? We just returned from Easter holidays and I have made a strong deliberate attempt to remain civil today...please, don't continue along this line. For BAD IS BAD! The APC Progressive government is taking us through the worst fuel scarcity regime in recent times. We need fuel...SIMPLE! |
989900:The problem is that these pipelines pass through seemingly inaccessible areas... |
Sad indeed! Too weak a statement. |
joeprince23:Even at the Industrial Unit opposite Henry Akul's house...no election. |
Osun is not a failed state! May God help Osun State! |
Who paid her fees while she studied in the UK and Dubai? The 'frugal' one? |
Does a Minister have the mandate to make a broadcast? A Press Release, yes...but I don't think it is proper to call is a 'broadcast'. |
Don't mind the confused Amaechi. Saturday elections will be another marker in the history of Rivers State. |
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) on Wednesday said that the audit report recently submitted to the National Assembly by the office of the Auditor General of the Federation (AuGF) in which it was indicted of not remitting about N3.235 trillion into the government’s coffers are erroneous. The corporation also said that the report with its alleged errors had the capacity to undermine its current and future business operations. It explained that it was based on this that it decided to put the records straight. It made the clarification in a statement which was signed by its Group Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Isiaka Abdulrazaq in Abuja. It noted that even though the claims by the AuGF report were broadly within the 2014 financial year before the current management came on board, it still owed it a duty to safeguard the integrity of the corporation by correcting the office of the AuGF on its alleged accounting errors. “The Auditor General of the Federation (AuGF) declared to the National Assembly on the 14th of March 2016 that NNPC has failed to remit the sum of N3.235 trillion to the Federation Account for the period ended 31st December 2014. “NNPC wishes to state in strong terms that the AuGF’s declaration is erroneous. It should also be noted that although this period is before the new NNPC management was appointed in August 2015, the management still deem it fit and important to correct any misinformation about the activities of the corporation as this will adversely affect its current and future financial and operational plans if not corrected,” said Abdulrazaq. He further stated that since the new management was appointed, it has placed great emphasis on transparency, accountability and integrity and has sought to refocus and reposition the NNPC as demonstrated in the ’20 fixes’ initiatives which it had adopted. Listing some of the 20 fixes which include: the publication of NNPC monthly financial and operations reports; focus on cost reduction across board an subsequent drop in monthly operational losses from N30 billion in August 2015 to N3 billion in January 2016; as well as, restructuring of NNPC to improve its performance and profitability, Abdulrazaq said that the corporation’s new management has made efforts to identify legacy claims and settle same. He said that the NNPC in this regards has also undertaken a forensic audit of all the claims and that a report is expected from its appointed forensic auditors soon. According to him: “Upon the appointment of the new NNPC management, it identified all legacy claims issues between NNPC and the federation and engaged with the Federal Ministry of Finance to resolve the issues by inviting the appointed forensic auditors to conclude the previous forensic audits on these claims and the final report on this is expected soon.” Source: http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2016/03/16/n3-2-trillion-augfs-audit-report-erroneous-says-nnpc/ |
I am PDP and proudly so....but this piece of news is scrap! It has no value and should not be accepted. It should be treated for what it is...TRASH!!! |
If this news is true....why is this government confused? |
The leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State have agreed to put aside their differences, and work together with the national leadership of the party for the conduct of the forthcoming congresses in the state. The peace agreement, facilitated by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, who is the chairman of the PDP Peace and Reconciliation Committee, was reached at a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting was held at Bayelsa State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, according to a press statement from Government House, Bayelsa. The party leaders, including two former governors of the state, Achike Udenwa and Ikedi Ohakim, resolved to unite and join forces to strengthen the PDP for victory in all elections – beginning with the March 19 rerun in Imo North Senatorial District. Other PDP leaders who signed the peace pact were the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, former aviation minister, Kema Chikwe, and three senators, Chris Anyanwu, Samuel Anyanwu, and Athan Achonu. Austine Akobundu, a retired colonel, and the pioneer chairman of the party in Imo, Innocent Nwoga, also signed the resolutions. The leaders promised to remain loyal to the National Working Committee and the National Executive Committee of the party, and also agreed to hold an all-inclusive leadership meeting of the party in Owerri, Imo State, to be chaired by Mr. Dickson. Mr. Dickson was said to have thanked the party leaders and elders for taking the path of peace in the overall interest of the party and promised to inform the party leadership of the development. The reconciliation committee, set up by the PDP national chairman, Ali Sheriff, is to reconcile and unite the party members across the country. erunz:Gbam! The minister is an old man. He should be changed. He has nothing to offer so far! |
DONSMITH123:Bro, the thing tire me! All we know that is some people died. A minister, his wife and a son; the driver as well. |
Okay! But recently, you said that the TSA cannot be used to fund the 2016 Budget as MDAs will now be permitted to withdraw their money for payments and investments. Don't you think that this has in some way reduced the capacity of these MDAs to make payments and invest thereby creating profitable economic activity in the recent past? |
Oil workers have shut down the operations of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) nationwide following Tuesday’s unbundling of the corporation. Members of staff and management of the corporation arrived their various offices on Wednesday morning to discover that they could not gain entrance following the total strike.https://www.thecable.ng/breaking-nnpc-shut-nationwide

Does these news companies, divisions, zones have executive powers to make commercial decisions or will they always go back to the Group MD, EDs for approvals above 200M NGN? |
Congratulations to Dr. Goodluck Ebelemi Jonathan on this award. May you continue to be the light in ensuring that democracy thrives in Africa and beyond. You are indeed a shinning light. Respect! |
Animal Farm Budget....full of contradictions and confusions! |
NNPC in Profit ![]() When non of the refinery is working, oil prices are down...so where is the profit coming from? Kachukwu is a joker! |
kITATITA:Did you pass through the E/W Road 15 years ago? Now, who will go to start building a "new" E/W Road when he can 'cheaply' remedy or upgrade or expand or dualize or repair the existing E/W Road? Please, show just show us where a 'new' road is required to connect states in Nigeria? Sir, when you hear that a road is being 'dualized', it means you are building a completely new traffic lane. Now consider it...what is it called, if not a new road? |
If this news is true, then PMB is vindictive and too overbearing. The govt said they were going to do Zero Budgeting. Were these men trained for ZBB? Were they provided the right tools to do the work? Were they given the necessary support? Where they given enough time to produce a ZBB budget? ZBB is a very laborious process and time consuming as well. ZBB was introduced by President Jimmy Carter in 1977. Yes, it has it merits but many governments of the world and even the US abandoned it because it takes too much time and cost so much with a massive paperwork to put together. PMB should take responsibility! There is no way that any 100% 'IQ' Nigerian can produce a ZBB Budget in Nigeria is less than 8-10 months! The govt of PMB failed in this regard. They should accept responsibility and put in place structures to ensure they get it right next time and stop all this face saving, half hearted measures. Arresting these gentlemen and ladies or even prosecuting them and jailing them will not scratch the surface of the main problem. Meanwhile, I see that the EFCC is becoming a Political Bulldog. PMB should note: what goes around, comes around!!!! PMB move Nigeria forward...there are more pressing issues now. |
Thank God...I am happy. Cohesion is returning to our great party. We are re-positioning. The former ministers will soon be won over and under the big umbrella, the party will be re-built. Welcome Mr. Chairman, HE Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff. You have 3 months to prove your worth and if you do well, count me as one of your supporters, if you still decide to run for the post of Chairman during the National Convention. Your main task now, is to re-build, re-position, recover our pride, rescue and re-structure. Once again, welcome Sir |
dubemnaija:My brother, it is not Maku oh but M gu...I don't even know the correct spelling...Magu or Mugu. |
