openmine: How many Nigerians can afford renewable energy like solar system? Even a load of 10kva will gulp at least 4million naira considering the need to purchase a huge amount of batteries and solar panels to last for at least 21-23 hours in a day! Which small and medium scale enterprise has got that kind of funds to spend on power? Not all forms of renewable energy are expensive. If Renewable energy companies generate energy, they can sell to Nigerians like discos. |

jaxxy: The generator bill is coming late and will be more catastrophic than effective now. It shud have come in 1999 or 2003 when Nigeria cud do Smtn significant about power generation and it was being sabotaged. It is not too late. We can still fix it. |

Perfecttouchade: e be like sey u dey get power supply 24/7 my sister..u dey enjoy for this heat o..abeg I fit tap small light I think say I go die last night for the heat, my gen coil burn but I had a healthy dose of generator fumes from my neighbour's gen before NEPA pitied us and gave us light. The reason there's a light bulb today is cause there was a void. If we do not see the need to sort out our power issue, we will use generator for years. |

tutudesz: This Senators can afford to equip their house with solar panels and inverter, Generator are for the middle and lower class now in Nigeria. Why can't he suggest a bill to jail power generating, distribution companies? Why not ban importation of pumping machines too! I support the bill, I just feel they should project the advantages and then so research how renewable energy companies can invest in the power sector. Or even a public private partnership on renewable energy. |

Seunpaul01: WHY?
U support people to go jail because they have generator.
U support ban of generator when they are not capable enough to supply 247 - stable electricity.
U support business to shut down because the government don't want them to use gen and whereas they could not provide the stable electricity they need. I don't support people going to jail. I believe the government should encourage renewable energy sources and even bring in investors in the sector before implementing the generator ban. |

InDistress: My dad is a very conservative man and will be broken if I leave. My younger sister left her husband for same infidelity and my parents haven't heard the last of it from neighbours and gossips. I don't wantbtonput them through emotional stress. My husband's elder brother separated from his wife over 30yrs ago over infidelity and all tgeir children amounted to nothing, I feel scared for my kids. When you die of an STD or high blood pressure, will these gossiping neighbours or your parents take care of your kids like you would? There are single mums out there who pulled themselves together and did an amazing job raising this kids. If this man dies, won't you raise your kids? |

Madam, leave the man before you end up with HIV.
If you can contribute 4m to the project in the village, you can live by yourself with the kids.
When he's ready to be married and shows signs he has left his philandering ways, then you can go back. |
