Trottle: Ijaw youths accept Buhari, warn against violence
The President of the umbrella body of all Ijaw youths in the country, the Ijaw Youth Council, Mr. Udengs Eradiri, has called on all Ijaw youths across the nation to avoid all acts of violence, destruction and protests as a fallout of the last Saturday’s Presidential election, won by Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress.
Eradiri also congratulated Buhari on his electoral victory and said that Ijaw youths would support his administration, just the same way youths from other parts of the country supported the Jonathan administration.
The IYC president warned that any Ijaw youth who got involved in protest, destruction and other acts of violence would be seen to be doing so at his or her own risk.
He said that the IYC would accept the leadership of Buhari, as the South-South region had had its own chance but could not use the position to its advantage.
Eradiri advised the youth populace in the region to resist being manipulated politically.
He said, “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate Gen. Buhari who has emerged the winner of the presidential election.
“And so as IYC, when we had our own as President, the Igbo, the Yoruba, the Hausa were loyal to him. We will be loyal to the President-elect, Gen. Buhari, who from May 29, 2015 would become the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We will accept it (the results of the election). We had our own knife and yam; we were not able to cut it the way we wanted. We have no other person to blame. It is in this part of the country that people ask for money to go and vote. However, the northerners were paying for their own transportation to go and exercise their rights and to go and pick their PVCs.
“Our people were expecting that they would be paid to collect PVCs and the results reflected so. We have no other choice; we are the architect of our own problem. So, we should be able to live with it.
“If you go and protest, you are on your own. If you go and destroy anything, you are on your own. I, as the leader of youths in this region, have reached out to other ethnic nationalities to canvass support. Maybe, we started late. Maybe the attention was not given that should have started with the political class.
“History has already recorded it. So, the best we can do is to key into his (Buhari’s) administration, just as the Yoruba and Hausa key into the administration. It is time for us to also key into the administration. So, I called on our people to steer clear of all those political manipulations.”

cc: Lalasticlala lovely write up, the new President elect is a president for all & he must work with all Nigerians to develop every region in Nigeria in respect of tribe, religion of party affiliations. He should know another 4 years will come when he will account for what he is able to accomplish; but it will be better for we all to see ourselves as Nigerians first before any other so that all these tribalism can stop, as the past is past & who don't want to move forward will be left behind. Please key into this government as we from the south west so that we can all hold them accountable. |

Vikkie14: This man can not even shut up for once. Just running mouth "yanyanyanyanyan". Rubbish. It's of note that he(OBJ) DELIBERATELY starve the Military of arms and ammunitions because he fear they could used that against him in a coup. When will he halt this SOS?? Did he think he is that relevant in Nigeria again? Am not angry with him but his HYPOCRISY. Only people who doesn't know anything about Military history will be bereft of idea on why our Military had been like this before Jonathan did some upgrading and uparming for them. We know how many arms and ammunitions he bought during his regime and we know what Jonathan had bought and still pending. Well, as a former military, GMB, we want real uparming the Military than what Jonathan achieved so we can counter EXternal and INternal aggressions. We need URGENT and BIG re-arming. do you know that several weapon/platforms bought by Jonathan are refurbished? Do you know that most of them cost 3 times the price of new ones? Do you know that over 30% of weapons that are bought by Jonathan ain't functioning? Don't just go there? Why is it that the military just stated wining engagements with book haram after over 5 years? Where are the weapons he bought for over 5 years? Jonathan just l Myself2: I can say unequivocally that one of the biggest problems Nigeria has today are people like Olusegun Obasanjo, the infamous baboon from Ota.God has to weed out these verminous cretins from the face of this earth so Nigeria can have enduring peace eft book haram to kill as many as they can, please let the sleeping dogs be or all you people's funny comments can get Jonathan into serious trouble, as his claim's can get investigated. |

crazysaint: THE LAST LAUGH - The Birth of The Father of Modern Nigeria Democracy! General Buhari contested elections three times before now and he lost. Blood were shed on the streets and lives were loss because of those defeats. Goodluck Jonathan had only lost once in an election he could had swayed in his favour, having all the machinery of the Commander-in-Chief at his disposal, yet hours to the official announcements of the final results he conceded victory and congratulated the man who always threw childish tantrum whenever he loses an election. Goodluck Jonathan is undoubtedly THE FATHER OF MODERN NIGERIA DEMOCRACY. He had shamed President Barack Obama and his uncouth Foreign Secretaries who had in more ways and in many fora than one embarrassed and insulted Nigeria on account of his signing of the Anti-Same Sex Marriage Bill into Law. He had shamed BBC, the propaganda mouthpiece of Britain's Life Dictator, Her Imperial Majesty the Queen, and indeed the United Kingdom and all those Nations who wished Africa nothing but ill. He had shamed the OLD and SELFISH crooks of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, Ibrahim Babagida, Ahmed Tinubu, and all their cohorts who had over the years been parasites on our collective till. He had shamed Governor Chibuike Amaechi who can NEVER ACHIEVE what Jonathan had accomplished. He had shamed General Buhari and taught him what a true democrat is. I SALUTE you sir. The victory is yours don't know why some tribes in Nigeria are so full of themselves to the extent of turning themselves to laughing stock for other tribes! Just read what you posted! All those people you name are those who joined majority of Nigerians to shame Jonathan, it would have been worse if he had behaved like people like you. |

Politics › Re: Niger, Chad Attack Boko Haram After IS Pledge Opens New Fronts -YAHOO NEWS by Rotimi47: 6:29am On Mar 09, 2015 |
taharqa: You are a FOOOL, guy. If not you would have known that this article by Yahoo news is only the latest of the well played and rehearsed negative narrative against Nigeria by these foreign journalists.
You would have known that the Chadian Army have only liberated just 2 towns- GamboruNgala and Dikwa- with the permission of the Nigerian authorities, with both towns near the border with Chad (GambaruNgala is in fact just at the border between Nigeria and Chad and was even captured by the Chadian ground troops after the Nigerian Airforce pounded that area repeatedly). You may also have known that most of the really heavy fighting and successes recorded so far (liberation of about 10 LOCAL GOVTS including the big towns like Baga, Monguno, Marte, Madagali, Mubi Mafa, Gulak) and the virtual surrounding of Gworza and Bama had/has been undertaken by Nigerian forces. You should have known that the main function of the other MNJF armies is to man their borders, prevent BH fighters from gaining an escape route during fights or having safe havens in their territories.
More importantly, perhaps you would have known that this is history repeating itself again. Same way Nigerian Forces- Land, Air and Navy- fought most of the real battles in the Sierra Leone civil war in the 90s, and yet today the narrative and the history books credits the British for winning that war only cos the British Press went to overdrive with the role a small British battalion played at the very tail of that war even after the war itself had already almost been won by the Nigerian and other West Africa peace keepers. If you had any sense and any iota of self respect you would very very vehemently resist this assault on the sensitivity and honour of your OWN NATION. But here you are trying to play cheap politics with .
SHAME ON YOU Then you are the biggest FOOL! Why post your trash & call someone else a bad name that is rightly yours? Gej ass licker. |

People from the south west have been insulted on every social media that's available by president Jonathan, his people from south south & majorly those from south east because they believe he can win only with their votes; if we can all remember immediately he won the election he travelled to the south east & he was saying they are his back bone, he forgot that Yoruba's & other tribes also voted for him? His people eg asari as threatened to turn Yoruba land into dust if Jonathan should lose the fort coming election; a laughable threat has his people would just get wiped out big time by the Yoruba's, all those who think they can defeat the Yoruba should check out civil history as the warvwas initially a stalemate until ore in On do state was invaded by Biafra,: that when the Yoruba's really got involved in the civil WAR & that clash was the bloodiest of the civil war. What have Gej done for we Yoruba's or even what significant thing has he done for the south east or Hus own people? None. The Yoruba's were the major people that stood up & fought for Gej be sworn in as president after Yaradua's death but did he thank or appreciated them? NO! But they rather castigated the Yoruba's. The best chance the Igbo people have to become president is to work with the Yoruba's as an Igbo man initially was to be picked as buari running mate but the Igbo's were always fighting on all media instead of abandoning sentiments & face reality. Rtd GMB is the best option Nigeria have for now & we will vote him but he should know after 4 years comes another election & if he fail to do his best which he is known for, he will not get our vite for the 2nd time. |
