Popular Nigerian rapper, Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, alias Vector, has lent his voice to the trending issue of cultism.

The music star took to his Instagram page to speak against cultism, highlighting the negative effects of gettting involved.

The rapper wrote:

5 People Killed In Kwara Cult Clash As Police Arrest 10

Five people have been killed in the last 72 hours in a renewed cult clash in Ilorin metropolis, the Kwara State capital, Daily Trust has reliably gathered.

After the killing of an unidentified youth on Tuesday in Erubu, Emir’s road area in Ilorin around 7 pm, it was learnt that another victim was killed in another area close by right in front of onlookers less than four hours later.

The renewed supremacy battle, according to findings, was between members of Eiye and Aiye confraternities in the metropolis.

Speaking on the issue, an eyewitness to the second killing, who craved anonymity for fear of being hunted, narrated that: “We all were busy watching the ongoing European Cup of Nations match between Ukraine and Sweden which ended very late in the night.

“The assailants obviously were lurking around having tracked the victim to the viewing centre where we were.

“Immediately after the final whistle, they came for him and announced to everybody they are there for their victim and not for anyone else.

“They were five in number, they dragged him and brutally killed him.

“The worrisome part of it was that they waited to confirm he was dead before they left the scene.

“I have been hearing of cult-related killings for more than four decades, this is the first time I will be witnessing the barbaric act physically and I have been shivering ever since,” the source added.

A top security operative in the state confided in our reporter that they have picked four corpses from various locations in the Ilorin metropolis since the first incident on Tuesday.

He stressed that the cultists were becoming more daring.

Meanwhile, the killing spree among the cultists continued Friday evening as another youth identified as Qudus Alaya was killed around the Idiagbon area of Ilorin.

An eyewitness told Daily Trust that the victim was accosted, overpowered and hacked to death by five assailants around 6 pm.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of Kwara command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, decry the incessant killing activities of the cultists.

He stressed that it was time for the community and all relevant stakeholders to rise up and partner with the Police towards tackling the menace.

He said: “I can confirm to you we have arrested no fewer than 10 suspects since the renewed clash three days ago.

“The Commissioner of Police has given orders for us to go all out and apprehended the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

“We have been raiding black spots and have made several arrests.

“However, the Police cannot do it alone, we need the collaboration of all and sundry, especially on the aspect of information volunteering.

“The perpetrators are not ghosts, they sure live here. Therefore, the people they live with know them.

“We implore them to give them (the cultists) up by providing relevant information to the police,” he pleaded.

A member of a vigilance group, simply identified as Endurance, also known as ‘DMX,’ has been killed by gunmen suspected to be members of a cult group in Benin City, Edo State.
  
The assailants allegedly trailed the victim from his home to a lottery betting shop, where he was shot three times at a close range, while others at the shop scampered to safety.
  
The incident, which occurred about 6:00p.m. on Saturday on the Ologbotsere Street, off Benin Technical College (BTC), Ugbowo Quarters, in Egor Local Government Area, left residents in the community in panic.
  
The vigilance group in the area immediately stormed the crime scene to rescue their colleague, but was found dead in the pool of his own blood.
  


Angered by the killing, the vigilance group took to the street in a stop-and-search duty for the killers, but to no avail.
  
Eyewitness account revealed that the assailants came in two vehicles, a Mercedes-Benz 4matic Saloon car and a Toyota Camry.
  
It was gathered that the unknown gunmen zoomed off through the Medical Stores/Okhoro Road in Benin City. The corpse of the vigilance group member was later evacuated by the Okhoro Police Division in the area.
  
The renewed cult violence, in the past one week, has claimed two lives so far in the area following the killing of Augustine Izu, a final-year Political Science student of University of Benin (UNIBEN), who was killed by unknown gunmen hours after writing his final examination.
  
Izu was trailed to his off-campus hostel on Omage Street, off Federal Government Girls College Road (FGGC), Ugbowo, Benin, by his assailants who shot him dead in his room.
  
Reacting, some residents decried the killings and condemned the untoward activities of some unscrupulous members of the vigilance group.
  
A resident, who spoke in confidence, expressed worry over the actions of the vigilance group moving with arms and ammunition as well as shooting indiscriminately at social functions, including birthdays, funerals, and wedding ceremonies, particularly those operating in Benin City.
  
IN a related development, students living in the UNIBEN Ekehuan campus area, in a chat with The Guardian, called on the state government and heads of vigilance group in the state to caution the Ogbe Quarters Vigilance Group in Oredo Local Government Council Area as they allegedly harass and intimidate residents.

A renewed cult clash between members of Aye confraternity( ) and Eiye confraternity groups, has reportedly resulted in the death of two persons in Benin City, Edo State.

The recent clash was said to have begun on Saturday following the beheading of one of the victims identified simply as Ogbomo, allegedly by a rival group.

He was reportedly hacked to death at about 4pm, along Esigie Street, by four assailants.

Obviously angered by Ogbomo’s death, the other group was said to have retaliated his killing on Monday afternoon, as they shot dead a commercial bus driver, along 3rd Circular Road, by Esigie Junction.

An eyewitness who simply identified himself as Okharedia, said: “I and other passengers boarded a commercial bus from Ekiosa market to New Benin.

“Half way into the journey, an Audi saloon car drove dangerously from behind-obstructing our bus and forced the driver to stop.

“The next thing was rag-tagged gunmen came out of the Audi car, dragged the bus driver out of the steering and fired him at closed range.

“There was confusion as they [the hoodlums] fired sporadically and also dispossessed all passengers of their belongings.

“I strongly suspect it is cult-killing, because I heard one of them was shot dead on Saturday. I think the government and security agencies should act fast,” he stated.

LAGOS APRIL 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The cult war between two rival groups, Eiye and Aye has left over 10 people dead between Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18, 2021 in Ikere-Ekiti in Ekiti State but the police confirmed number of casualties to be five.
According to a reliable source who told SOJ WORLDWIDE ONLINE NEWS reporter on condition of anonymity, she said,
“There was a particular guy simply known as Ojo Ale who was in Eiye Fraternity whom were told has left Ikere after about three months because of the alleged atrocity he has committed that was why he ran away from Ikere. He is an indigene of Ikere, he came to town on Friday thinking that people must have forgotten what he has done.
“He came to attend the wedding of one of his friends, that was when his rival group, Aye confraternity(.)noticed he was around. He was allowed to attend the wedding but yesterday, Saturday,April 17, 2021, he was killed at the Ikere Town Hall on market day.
“The information got to his members in Eiye group. There was a reprisal attack, they started killing themselves using cutlasses and sophisticated guns.”
As at the time of filing this report, she said the corpses counted was up to 14.
She added that police, soldiers are everywhere arresting youths who are not dressed properly even from their houses.
From the information gathered the cultists who carried out the evil acts have fled the town.


When I saw and read through the above before posting it to show part of the ills of cultism ; my advice is that people should try stay away from violence and everything that have to do with it.

The youths have to think deep and reflect on their lives and stop losing their lives anyhow even after all these terrible real life experiences that have been shared here.

Two members of Aiye confraternity have reportedly been killed by members of rival Eiye group at Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State. One of the deceased, identified simply as Ade, was hacked to death on Sunday about midnight at Imalefalafia area of the Lagos metropolis. The cultists cut the hands, legs and other body parts of the victim.

A resident of the area, who gave his name as Abdullahi, described the incident as a reprisal. Abdullahi said two weeks ago, a member of Aiye cult group was killed by members of Eiye confraternity at Sapati area of Ibeju-Lekki while two other members escaped death but sustained varying degrees of injury.

He said: “This is not the first time rival cult groups are killing each other in our area. About two years ago, heads and other body parts of rival cult group members littered everywhere in the Ajah and Ibeju- Lekki area. “This Aiye member that was killed was a well-known person in the community, but nobody knew he was into cultism. It was after he was murdered that everyone knew he was a member.” Abdullahi added that everybody was already in their houses when the incident occurred. He said: “Now nobody can stay outside till 8pm.

That is what we are battling with in our area now.’ A woman, who gave her name as Iya Tosin, said Ajah, Ibeju-Lekki, was a dangerous place to live now, because the crime rate in the area wass high, compared to when she moved into the community. She said: “The reason why the cultists are killing one another is best known to them, because I do not understand why they should be killing one another. In the community, a lot of promising youths have lost their lives to cult wars and gangsterism.

“Sometimes, when we are sleeping at night, we would hear gunshots everywhere in the community; when we are not at war front. Where they get the guns they are using is also another source of concern. “The Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, should come to our rescue, because we have nowhere to run to for safety.”

A community leader, who doesn’t want his name in print, said they had made every effort to persuade the youth in the community not to join cultism, because “it kills faster than cancer”. According to him, with all their efforts and energy, some of the youth still see it as the best way to live. He said: “Like Iya Tosin said, we have lost many promising youths because of crime. Our area is even worse than Mushin. I am tired because we don’t know what to do next. “Policemen from Area J Command, Ajah, had come to educate the youth on several occasions to renounce their membership and advise those who are yet to join not to join because it would ruin one’s life.” The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, promised to get back to our correspondent.

The federal government on Tuesday, February 2, warned that some states in the northern part of the country may experience a brief spell of drought between the months of June and July 2021 due to weather change.
Speaking in Abuja at the 2021 Seasonal Climate Prediction (SCP), minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika, made the disclosure on the severe dry spells.

He urged farmers to embark on "soil-moisture conservation techniques" to reduce chances of crop failure during the period, Daily Sun reports.

Rather than seek for peace the hausas came out in large numbers with weapons and attacked the cobbler's friends which resulted a small fight and the hausas started destroying Yoruba properties and also attacking Yorubas.

The Yorubas reinforce and confronted them hereby leading to more deaths.

Later the army and police came in to stop the fight but to surprise of the Yorubas, the army quickly took sides and started protecting the hausas.

The Yorubas held their peace as the army personnels shielded the hausas,they protected them and their properties without doing same for the Yorubas, however by night time when the Yorubas have left and several back inside their home, the soldiers gave the hausas room to attack and kill and inflict injuries on the Yorubas who were sleeping in their houses and they damaged and set fire to several houses and businesses, vehicles etc that are owned by the Yorubas inside the market with the army protecting them( This took place from late on Friday into Saturday with the hausas getting reinforcement from their kins men from areas all around the market).

In the morning, some Yorubas quickly came out to counter attack them but they were prevented from doing so by the army; They then asked why is it that the army is only protecting the hausas but not doing same for the Yorubas!

The army personnels response was that it was the Seriki that called them and not the Yorubas!!!! Imagine.

During the day time on Saturday more Yorubas that felt cheated went to confront them and another round of fighting took place which was also brought under control but lives had been lost also.

Rather for the hausas to embrace peace they simply got more reinforcement from all over the local government and as such went outside the market in the Night destroying and killing Yorubas with military backing.

The above was what finally broke the carmel's back, the Yorubas around got the news and saw videos of what the hausas were doing and felt obliged to respond in kind and that's how all hell broke loose.

Let me say it won't have gotten out of hand if the army personnels had behaved in a professional manner. It was only few weeks ago that they did almost the same thing in Ogun State when they went with some troublesome Fulanis herdsmen whom some people banished from their communities due to destruction of farm lands, rapes and killings.

The soldiers just started beaten eye witnesses, the traditional ruler and people in those communities and instructing them to take back the herdsmen and their cattles by force!!! What made me laugh was the Fulani herdsmen telling the soldiers who to beat and the soldiers would simply go ahead and beat the hell of that person!!!

Can the North accept such? The same thing the military does when igbos and hausas clash, rather that calm things down they take sides by siding with the hausas.

People are getting pissed off with such rubbish which is also saddled with the herdsmen violence and the nepotism that's very evident in the Country.

The threats coming from the North is also contributing to the crisis as the South West is not scared of the north. How will the wrong be claiming right?

People fail to understand that the 3 largest ethnic groups/tribes in Nigeria is Hausa, followed by Yorubas and igbos; the hausas reside in the North while the other 2 reside in the South.
The Hausa tribe population is 4% more than that of Yoruba and the Yorubas are 3% more than the Igbos; to me the difference is very little and as such they should never try to Lord over each other, likewise other tribes even though the 3 major tribes make up 64% of Nigeria population.

The tribes that comes next after them are Ijaws, benins who also reside in the South, then Kanuris in the North( Even the Kanuris are rumoured to be cousins of the Yorubas), then the ibibios who also reside in the South and then Tivs who also reside in the North.

So let me say that Nigeria population between the North and South is almost evenly distributed as well as the 2 major religion.( The actual difference is about 2%) The real census results shows this and it eroding fast in favor of the South.

Let me say that fulanis are minority in Nigeria but use the hausa as a shield when it's in their own interest.( That's when you start hearing Hausa Fulanis!!! Not hausa separate and Fulani separate)
