You will need to release a large amount of equity to buy a N75m (£300,000), that house in the UK will have to be fantastic for you to be able to do such plus you will need at least £2200 to service it every month.
You only need to release £60K and get a mortgage for £240K for about 10 years and who says you have to pay off the mortgage in 10 years? You can pay it off sooner! Assuming you are buying a house worth that amount

I swear NSE money sweet.But i no fit carry 75 million naira go buy flat.I go rather invest am into other things.I still dey plan open substance misuse clinic for one green area for Jos.And that one go be capital intensive project.If I fit get big people children into the clinic maybe I go list am for NSE.

If you sabi buy motor for yankee sell for Nigeria ,the profit can sometimes be 100 percent.But you get to sabi person wey get Bank of America Auction license.Na them dey sell the cheapest repossessed cars.
You are not going to pay N75M cash down are you? And you have to deal with all the agbero and cowboys wey dey for tin can island huh huh huh huh

Houses in Naija are very expensive.Not worth going into if you ask me.Better to rent a luxury flat in Lagos and build a mansion in your village, grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
Wetin you dey go do for village? What you are forgetting is the rent you are paying is more or less equal to the mortgage you will be paying if you take out a mortgage on your apartment
And dont forget capital appreciation is guaranteed

The one that surprises me is that people actually snap up these assets shocked . And them say money no dey Naija  angry Ok, we will see how far after I've relocated to Nigeria. No be london salary person dey take buy that one.
You fit commot equity if you get property for London take go deposit for two apartments live for inside one and rent out the other one.
There are actually  good mortgage facilities in naija now with 10-year tenure if you get 20% deposit.

Your interest rate is anything between 12-18%

Chei, looks like hotels have become expensive o shocked shocked. The apartment on the island is a good idea. UAC-prop was selling apartments in 1004 estate at one time. Not sure if the sale is still going on. IBTC is also selling some near the walter carrington area. Might be worth checking out.
Apartments in VI now na gold-dust in fact they will give some london apartments a run for their money!

Best bet all the up and coming developments in the Lekki Peninsular, VGC and towards the Chevron round-about areas. Its a bit chaotic now because of the terrible traffic congestion but once they get that sorted only God knows how they are relatively cheap and that's where the developments are concentrating now.

The $ rate worked out cheaper. The name of the hotel is Sofitel Moorhouse in Ikoyi. This was an executive room, but quite honestly, was the size of a standard room anywhere. I bet there are cheaper hotels though,  but I prefer to stay here, protea or Eko hotel which I'm used too,

I really need to get a good apartment on the Island ASAP. First thing I'll do before relocating,
Yeah the dollar has been on its back for a while now even the naira is appreciating against the dollar so the dollar rate might have worked out cheaper.

Sharpish you will be saving yourself a fortune if you get accommodation sorted.

You are too correct that a bam bam result will not help rara.

The new PO shares are eligible for bonus and dividends. So we are sure that there will be no bonus and the dividend will be very tiny. There is no other combination that annoys shareholders more.
windywendy:
Yes o, that's the million dollar question. OK let's do a little scenario analysis here: from the prospectus, they say they'll list PO shares on March 13. From the other companies we've seen do PO, we can safely infer that the PO shares won't actually be listed until like 2wks later. So sometime toward the end of march may be a good time to sell.

The price of RT Briscoe has not really moved in the last 3 months. It has hovered between N29 and N33 so I think the current price is still a valid entry point and we are still seeing occasional depression.
Hmnnnnn bro from my spreadsheet forward PE is around 22.5 so there's definitely something there sha! but if the price never move significantly in the last 3 months you think say the the thing go spike suddenly abi bonus dey happen?

my dear naijadr, you watch out for when the PO shares will be listed ok? you'll see some massive free fall once PO-ers begin their rampage. The PO shares were sold at 13, so at today's price you can imagine that even 30 will be a good margin for anyone who wants to sell. Sell before then, reassess fundamentals and then buy back (if you still like the company) at the give-away price (could be as fun as "buy-1-get-2 0r 3-free" compared to today's prices) cheesy. According to the prospectus, new shares should be listed March 13.

@Roughcut, same applies o. cheesy
There's room for profit taking plenty plenty after we don take profit finish i go enter again the fundamentals are bam. Dont forget that the FYE is March and if they deliver what i expect you can be sure the free-fall will be temporary as there will be buying spree in readiness for Q1 action so that should stabilize the price and hopefully it will reasonable enough for me to enter

WHEN do i take  PROFITS? the $1M question cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

My brother na the thanksgiving praise wey we do yesterday wey cause am o! COSTAIN is now officially "ridiculous" grin Na N100 by June ooooo
25% in 1 week, kai and I saw when he posted it too alongside his other recommendations!
My Dunlop has done 33% in 2 weeks after fees, even ABC, I hope my broker got it o yesterday
Thank you God!
Costain is now OUTRAGEOUS! Wetin?

That John Holt i no go allow  make 'oju kokoro'  come catch me i dey jump this friday unfailingly regardless of what it does.

Dunlop dey do me one kind  sha. The candlesticks pattern is showing a hanging man which means there is a bearish reversal pattern just lurking in the corner yelllow flag i think the candle chartists call it. Selling pressure is starting to increase  even though the bulls seem to be driving the price higher  but i think  the battle will move away from the bulls in a few days.

The present bullish trend cannot be sustained  beyond a week at the most i think in a matter of days so i will enter if i see a bottoming-out.

As per ABC i dey on that one no shaking and Ikeja Hotels is tantalizingly close to within striking distance.

And Niwi Cable needs to shed some blood for me to enter abi no be so you talk Hurricane wendy?

hmnnn which other stocks dey on the radar yeah i still got  SKYE the thing dey on net bid even while on TS interesting that one

@Windy Wendy

I had a look again at the Union Diagnostics they offered 500M units for the PP so assuming 200% oversubscription that gives 1B which is not a problem at all.

What shall i say unto the Lord

All i have to say is Thank you Lord.

Thank you Lord X2

Una do well
No need to shine candle on this one grin grin grin grin grin. FYE is February and there's strong rumour of bonus and dividend. They gave a 1 for 4 and dividend of 50K last financial year.

So the market is pricing in a repeat performance and there's no reason not to. I should have got in on the action when it was around ~N32 but analysis paralysis paralysed me grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

@Mr. Risky,

Just bought them all few weeks back. Had the intention of doing CICO/20% profit, then bail out. They are all at a loss now.
Well if you have sustained a loss no point selling then you are better off waiting! Pls read my post again i assumed you have made a profit on those stocks since you didnt mention the entry price.

I dont know about the insurance stocks you bought though but for the other stocks you will just have to wait it out!

Refer to my earlier post again!

UBA -Hold in the medium term even if you take profit now i'm assuming you are up on this one . Good for medium-long term No shaking on that one

Diamond bank-Been marching time for a while now so you can offload and go for Oceanic and/or Skye if you can get it for medium term Oceanic is ok at current price but don't forget its got about 19B shares listed.

Japaul Oil-Fundamentals shot to pieces PE around 70 not what i want to get into now. I bought the stock shed loads of it last year and i'm out of that one now. The only reason i can think of an upside for this one is the rumour of bonus because FYE is March but that would be suicidal considering the fact they will be listing the billions of shares from the PO and the supplementary listing to absorb the over-subscription instead of returning money. If you have made a profit i think you need to dump this one!

As per insurance its a minefield but UNIC is looking attractive though

@Aktopgun @ Windy and @All

Please All,

I have Insurance Stocks and some banks too that's been going down. Am at a loss on all of them. I need your advice. Do you know when they are likely to start gaining blood again? Or do you advice me to sell OFF all and continue ahead.
Post the names of the banks and the ins coys you are referring to now so peeps go know wetin dem go say. If its a bank thats fundamentally sound and its heading towards niger delta  there's probably  one explanation peeps are taking profit and probably a buying opportunity for you.

Just look at the volumes and determine if its on bid or offer and that way you can make a call

But if you dont  give peeps the info they need it would be difficult to answer the question

Abeg, una go teach me how una arrive at this 1.6B/1.7B shares for Niwicable.

I thought they had 0.42B shares before and this will be equivalent to 38% of what is listed now since Truebond will now have 62%. Oya, e la mi lo ye (sorry for my ngbti Yoruba)
There was a PP specially for truebond to accommodate 1.18B shares corresponding to their 62% stake in addition to the existing 420K shares already listed

Yes o, I remember that time. No be me and you dey dissect am for the stockmarketnigeria forum? Abi na me and Pumping? Anyway I believe the company has really good prospects. My only concern is that this one wey them do 100% allotment, I hope they won't go and list like 16b shares (just kidding) because I heard the PP was 200% subscribed.
It was probably you and Pumping on SMN we did some analysis on this thread but if anybody read the PP prospectus you wouldnt have failed to spot that the guys were running a virtual monopoly in their field like i said in the morning and they were going to be very agrressive in going for out-sourced contracts in the govt and specialist hospitals.

I think they offered less than 5B shares if i remember correctly so 200% allotment no harm done!

At least no nowhere near Universal insurance that listed 16B a few weeks ago and almost 1B were traded last week friday. What a joke!
