Remember some people bought DSR at 56.00 before it now settles @ 33.00 before moving to the 40.00 range. water must always find its level.
Dont forget that there were no returned money for DSR everybody that  applied as far as i'm aware got their allotment i think.

Dangote Flour is a different kettle of sish altogether very tight so i tell you  for a fact the fall in Dangote Flour will not be as steep as DSR that tells me not a lot of peeps will be selling soonest even when they get the pali and when they do they will be selling at the top end of the price range

This one will be quite interesting

The Dangote Flour price go still find im level. Just let the certificate be out!!! na those wey dey BUY now I pity. Even @ 15.00, me no fit BUY the offer. Dangote Sugar however is looking attractive. I expect it to take another leap soon.

For those that do not mind buying any type of Stock, John Holt is available to be picked. So place order fast.
That's right but we are not talking free-fall here not by a long shot. I expect a  dip for a few weeks when the certs are out for peeps to take profits when the dust don settle i expect a stabilization at a very attractive price-level not sure what is yet.

Funny enough i was actually watching John Holt when it was N3 i think a couple of months ago. My Old man used  to be a manager in John Holt in those days so i was just curious to see who are the peeps buying the stock. I think its about N10 now.

wapco still hemorrhaging. lost full 5% today. wonder what the candlestick for today will look like. na wa o. its looking attractive at these prices ke. the company isnt that bad ke.
Looks like the market did not react favourably to  PAT of N13.9B for FY '07 which is about 2.5% better than FY '06 and N1.20K  dividend. Cement prices are flying through the roof though and dont see a let-up soon until the importation of cement is sorted out.

I bet some powerful lobbyists will make sure that does not happen soonest

Will be interested to know what the candles are saying

I think Yaradua will be best to reform the electoral system.

Samstone4 cool cool cool cool
Infact that is one of the ways Yar'Adua can redeem himself and probably leave a legacy after his presidency

@ Nairalanders

All major issues decided in favour of Yaradua but the judge wants to address the minor issues in addition.
In other words will be a shocker if he now says Yaradua not to continue.

Samstone4 cool cool cool cool
Personally i think all this business with tribunals and appeals is all academic everyone is just going through the motion.

Let's even assume for one minute Yar'Adua's election is annulled and a re-election ordered then what alternative have we got?

Buhari and/or Atiku i mean that would be a joke.

Yes the elections and the process by which we have elected our president is not credible and will never stand up to scrutiny anyday but the point is we dont have credible and serious alternatives so i dont actually see the point of the whole exercise! You annul Yar'Adu'a's election and by some fluke Atiku wins the re-election that will be taking 5 steps backwards for each step forward

@ aktopgun / everybody,

I'm trying to understand this candlestick theory / prediction.

I'm going to use AG Leventis as an example. Considering TA;

RSI is about  90. Meaning it is above 70, therefore it is in the overbought zone and you should sell. It means its due for a correction downwards therefore if you hold the stock you SELL and if you don't wait for the correction and BUY
MACD is telling you that is Divergence is positive (0.1208), meaning it just hit a new low and you should buy more.
Also, the MACD rises above the signal line - giving a bullish signal. If MACD divergence is +ve it means the 12-day EMA is higher than the 25-day EMA which is BULLISH You normally use the 12 and 25-day EMA

When you look at the MFI line, it is right around the 75.77 mark (approx 80). This is telling you that it is almost in the overbought zone and you should sell. ]Not sure what you mean by this

Based on these 3 criteria, would you guys recommend AG leventis a buy, Hold or sell?
As for candles Aktopcandle get plenty for house grin grin grin grin

I hear you guys,

However, entry price is important. I would rather enter Lasaco now than enter Aiico at their current prices.

I will rather go for them than Aiico - simply because it will be easier for them to reach 8 from their 5 naira than aiico to reach 12 naira from its 8 naira.

I foresee 10naira being a resistant barrier for the insurance stocks.

Just my thoughts.
Sound postulation but dont forget that when all these ins stocks go on TS  there will be buying pressure on those that are not and that's where i can see the prices being pushed northwards because everybody wants to have a piece of the insurance action! As long as you know when to Roll-Off or Cycle-OUT no 'aggro'

So i'm assuming you are saying there is still a lot more in the armoury we can use to win the premiership dog-fight. A lot to blow out man dis-united this season.

Nothing would give me greater satisfaction apart from my portfolio on the NSE  achieving the objectives for the first-half of '08 cheesy cheesy

@Aktopgun

Meanwhile since you are the only recognized pasenger on Cutix flight i think its time to bail for me i know you are long-term on this one but i fit commot profit now plenty of it go do some shopping and connect again in anticipation of their Q3 results i think the results are due anytine now sha. I go still leave some KG's on board

The RSI is ~99 way OVERBOUGHT and the price is trading VERY close to its upper Bollinger band of 24.01 and momentum way too close to the upper +ve value  all these  point to an overheating and OVERBOUGHT condition and most likely due for a trend reversal. The MACD divergence between the 25 and 12-day EMA is +ve so this is a seriously bullish trend

As for my candles i think they are telling me its forming a shooting star  which is a potential bearish reversal pattern.  Need you to please light your own candle to confirm. Heavy volume traded today may be a possible confirmation
Clearly a lot of people have it in for Transcorp for one reason or the other. From what I know
about the initial deal, Transcorp did not aquire much of the landed properties, so there is a lot
of false propangada out there on the part of the Workers Union, etc.

With respect to the link you posted, it was true that Transcorp and the FG met in december, but
in the resolution that was announce by the same minister two weeks ago, Transcorp was to shed
a maximum of 27% of its stake in NITEL/MTEL.
You must be referring to the link posted by easimoni and like i said i havent confirmed the story about the real estate assets!

And the galling part of this saga  is i understand  that Transcorp has stripped NITEL of most  its real-estate assets. All the land belonging to NITEL have been sold to the highest bidders. Cant confirm this though but it was in the media when the news broke early this week

Northern Rock was a publicly quoted company until the government decided to nationalise it a few days ago.
A friend of mine owned shares in the company.

@AKT, Roughcut & Jandbaby

I am not holding brief for Transcorp or Ndidi.

I too have been seriously affected by the shenanigans at and against Transcorp but the truth is the truth.

Northern Rock Bank was recently placed on suspension in the UK due to a run on the shares occasioned by the subprime market exposure it has in the USA.

The truth is the truth - as we used to say at the Supreme court.

Samstone4 cool cool cool cool
If it is any comfort to you i have been caught up in the WEMA soap-opera but that does not mean the way things are being handled is necesssarily the way to go and that's the point.

By the way Northern  Rock was bailed out by £55B of tax-payers' money and the only way to ensure there is something to show for all the money the govt has spent on the bank is to temporarily nationalise it meaning the govt owns the bank at least £55B worth of it (doubt if the bank is worth that much though) and therefore the  shares cannot be traded for now until somebody comes up with a brain-wave on how to repay the £55B public debt

Its status is not that of a publicly quoted and traded company so there are no basis for comparison between the two scenarios i would say.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by RoughCut(m): 2:38pm On Feb 21, 2008
samstone4:
@AKT

Stocks can be placed on suspension whenever there is uncertainty with a company. This is done all over the world e.g. when merger announcements are imminent.

As far as the crossdeals in Transcorp shares, this is what my brokers told me when 132 million shares were traded in a single day and I have no cause to disbelieve them.

Samstone4 cool cool cool
It is not done anywhere else that  the DG of a stock exchange is also a member of the board of directors of a publicly  quoted  company on that exchange.

If NSE were to be a publicly quoted company like LSE in UK and we have a situation like the Transcorp situation NSE will be answerable to SEC  just as the  LSE is answerable to the FSA and the Exchequer. But its the other way round in our dictionary.

There's something called CONFLICT OF INTERESTS    and this just flies in the face of the  basics of CORPORATE GOVERNANCE AND ETHICS

my question to u dear friend is, would any other company have been placed on TS because NSE was afraid that bad news about its dealings would cause a drop in its share price?
I asked the same question about 3 days ago.

Some things are just blatantly obvious and there's no need to start dressing up a mutton as lamb. The NSE is still a work-in-progress but the longer  shenigans like these  persist it just means it takes longer to 'fix' the flaws in the system
