Temmie10:The FYE is March so if they are doing another 1 for 4 i expect that to be included by end March. I'm a bit confused though my spreadsheet says the closure date for final div is Sep so i'm assuming the the 1 for 4 will also be credited by closure date. Hmnnnn |

pumping777:So there goes your answer mecatchcha but like i said the bonus issue is still a rumour but you know rumours drive the prices on NSE! Peeps buy on RUMOUR and sell on NEWS or is it the other way round? I'm not saying you should do the same though ![]() |
windywendy:@K2 Just read the last two pages before the pages begin begin fly and there you will find your answers |
mecatchcha:Well as you might have heard on this thread the PO shares will be listed this march so if you have made a profit you can offload and peeps seems to think that the only reason it would gain traction in terms of price moving up north is the bonus of a rumour but you know that will be suicidal to do a bonus after listing the PO shares unless the listed shares do not qualify. If you have made profit you can disembark now or sweat on this one for a while! As you might have noticed a lot of stocks have been recommended in the last couple of hours for you to enter.
Obviously, the announcement wasn't made in a vacuum. Vodacom have been wanting to get on board as early as 2007 but BPE will not bulge in altering the Share Purchase Agreement or its configuration. It is obvious to all now that somethng has to give between Transcorp and the FGN as the status quo on NITEL is not sustainable. Having said that, our government is not known to be very strategic, hence the only delay that I see is if they insist on getting bids from other interested parties. Vodacom's talk with Transcorp has gone for a long time and you will think by now Vodacom knows what its looking for and may be more aware of NITEL/MTEL's problem already more than any other potential new core investor. We will find out hopefully sometime this year.
Hmnnn depends on what story you have heard. From the report i read in Punch apparently Vodacom won the bid earlier on when NITEL/M-Tel were privatised b BPE but couldnt come up with the readies and in the process they actuall lost their $100M non-refundable deposit. I also understand this is one of the reasons Transcorp and the Fed Government are willing to divest to Vodacom So many stories and reports flying around. I guess we havent heard the last of this! |
falala:Lotus Capital is a fund manager that is or will be selling and managing sharia-compliant financial products. I think the intention is to set up i believe this is already at advanced stages the first islamic/sharia bank which basically means they will be offering loans/credits without interest which is what i meant by sharia compliant financial products. Since there is a market for sharia compliant products in the middle east so there's a proliferation of the type of institutions there. If you believe the market for this exists in Nigeria by all means you can go for it. That's all i know for now. I will try and look up the details again on Thisdayonline.com CAVEAT EMPTY repete! Hope you know what this means ![]() |
falala:Seeing that this is your first post on this forum things are not always like this. Ignore the last 15 pages and read as much as you can i think you will be better off for it. Standards seem to have been disastrously dragged down in the last 3-4 days. Hope you have not been put off! |
yodiyokun:I thought you volunteered to be one of the moderators of this thread? |
Naijadr:Abi make we apply wisdom small ![]() Like marshall wanaj0 dey talk am Preservation of CAPITAL is the first rule of investing |
wanaj0:Yeah that is worse ![]() |
Naijadr:Let me make you an offer you can't refuse ![]() Say COSTAIN hits N65 tomorrrow why don't we sell half and hold on to the rest till end March as 'Olori' Wendy talk and offload but still leave some 'tasere' on board sha. What sayest thou? The thing dey fear me seriously If you are in NiWi for a long-haul then no shaking i'm still loading the thing. The story about this new investor should be very interesting. If this is true wll TrueBond divest some of their holding or will they accept a dilution? Very interesting scenario indeed either way don't think that will do the stock any harm. ABC has moved out of the striking range for me may be i go allow you make you collect your profit then go shopping again.I don give SELL order for John Holt and the thing still dey climb. Na wa o! |
wanaj0:For the fellow who asked the question If you get SKYE BANK you will be smiling but i doubt if you go get am o. For a very long time its been on net bid even though its still on TS and i think someone said that the brokers are actually crossing @ around N20 or so don't know about that shanot that i'm complaining G Cappa if you can get it but i think there are liquidity issues here. For the past 2 months its been trading in singe digits the highest number of trades has been 5 and the volumes involved less than 10K except yesterday when it did 61K and its only dropped the price once in the last 2 months looks like the sellers/buyers are trying very hard to push up the price steadily.Bottom-line i wouldnt hold out my candles for this one! Thomas Wyatt Hmnnnn don't know anything about that one |
gabza:Abi you are one of those who helped me push John Holt to where it is today?. I wont disclose how much i use attack that one. With CICO i don't do one stock i usually do about 4 at any point in time just in case. I stiil get the money from Cutix although that one na medium CICO as FO2 talk am anything from 0-3 mths and anything in between. I don commot Japaul, CI Leasing although those ones are not strictly CICO. I still dey look VITAFOAM i don do one cycle already i dey wait make he drop small but that one come dey sound fundamentally sha!I don load ABC but i wan do oliver twist for that one i still dey chase that one and as i dey talk now dey wait for Dunlop to flash the green light 'yakata' make i go on soun ![]() I no go reveal my ARSENAL again make i no come give the silent readers ammunition And Niwi dey one kind ![]() |
pumping777:Infact all these stocks with fundamentals no dey gyrate nowadays o that is why they are good for medium-long term.! They just dey march on the same spot ![]() |
Napolean:Elder Napoleon Sounds like the Old Boys' Network. Infact what you have described is more or less Wealth Management and Private Banking. That is where all these investment banks especially those in Europe make their money from. They have private banking and wealth management divisions just for these high net-worth individuals In Swiss Banking you can just look at a non-descript building housing a private bank infact you would not think to look at the building twice you just need to look under the bonnet and look at the clientele and the billions they have under management belonging to individuals most times. They hardly ever have institutional clients but you will be dazed at the fees and commissions they collect from them just for telling them what to do with their money! I'm sure you must have heard of Cazenove investment bank in UK it was the only remaining private investment bank in UK then well i think there's still Rothschild and they were the bankers and stock brokers to the Queen. They call them blue-blooded investment bankers and do business pretty much the same you have described until they got taken over by JP Morgan an American Investment bank and you can imagine what a culture shock it was for them as they are not used to the typically aggressive and abrasive disposition of the American investment bankers. In the end the Investment bankers thought them one or two things about making even more money from clients infact they thought them a hundred and one different ways they could make more money from the Queen and the rest is history. That tells you that things do change with times! I mean can you imagine the queen doing a CICO? ![]() |
pumping777:I think i have decided i'm not greedy actually John Holt i bought around N10 last week and it closed at ~N14+ yesterday and i gave a SELL mandate yesterday for execution today and it did another 5% today to close around N15 today and it looks like it might go on for a few more days but i assure you i'm not having second thoughts sam sam! |
aktopgun:Fidelity and ABC Transport are conjoined abi no be so una dey talk am in medical parlance? ![]() |
yodiyokun:I feel you on this one my sis all the premier league banks dey my long-term portfolio and some of them don dey inside since '04 NO SELLING. RETIREMENT PLANNING and HARVARD school fees for PIKIN when time don reach. ![]() Thank God i no go ever reach stage wey i go dey carry school fees go do CICO. God forbid bad thing chei! ![]() |
yodiyokun:My sister you don talk the 'koko' Infact some other people wey dey Daddy Napoleon as i qualify to be your first-born na position go dey think say them do us favour by sharing with us on an internet blog We appreciate your elderly input on this forum Daddy Napoleoni just dey rise from my idobale position ![]() |
Napolean:I don check their website and the board and management. As i dey see them so dey no look say dey go fit 'hustle' and do 'agbero'. They look very gentle and very kool. I think they are more suited to peeps wey go just buy millions of shares and just leave the thing with them jeje. I no sure say they get time for CICO/RO-RO stocks ![]() If i get the millions i need to 'attack' the PP's wey dey come this year i fit look their side. For now na the 'agbero' and 'CICO' queue i dey. no paddy for jungle na ![]() |
Napolean:Elder Napoleon I throway homage o!Make i rise or remain for dobale position? ![]() Myself and your first-born we dey the same age-range. Na wa o |
loma:I beg make you confirm or deny quick quick the new shareholder that has joined the Niwi Cable party! As i wan use the loot from John Holt attack this one ![]() |

i swore off public offers
