It will make sense if they can achieve this. Enough of the inconsistency. Experts have continued to clamour for a single exchange rate in the country.

which of the normal MasterCard; The Naira MasterCard or the Dollar MasterCard? udwise123: |
Okay. I am just hearing that now. What Customer Care told me when I inquired from them is that for now they have restricted there cards on International Trade Websites. Ayemileto:This means that those that already have the virtual dollar don't have issues. Applying for new cards is currently not available. So enjoy. This was my conversation with them. |
udwise123:I contacted them after I read your comment and the attached screen shot is our conversation. All these is only pointing out that there is a new banking policy in place. Access Bank told me that their Naira Master/Visa Card is working but their new limit is now $1000 per month instead of $3000 and their exchange rate is $345 which is high comparing it to GT Bank & Zenith Bank exchange rate. Maybe before the end of this month, Nigerians will begin to understand & feel what is happening as regards to making payments on international websites with our debit cards.

AT what rate per dollar do they charge? udwise123: |
Do you mind telling us which Nigerian Bank card you used? Dwightventures: |
Very Sad Experience. If this is the case, then what is the solution as regards to making online payments at a reasonable exchange rate? How reliable are some of these third parties that advertises on helping one buy things on Amazon, Aliexpress, etc and at what rate do they charge? Honestly, going to bureau de change to buy dollar at the rate of N475 per dollar is not even an option for me. Besides shopping, one has a lot of web & training services to pay for on some international websites. Which way Nigeria?! ![]() Dwightventures: |
I started experiencing this issue on Tuesday evening (28-July-2020) Well, I still successfully used my GTB Naira Mastercard to pay a USA outfit @ N390/$1, as recently as on Monday - this week.As of Today (being Friday 31-July-2020), Zenith Bank customer care informed me that the limit on their Naira Master/Visa Card per month is now $200 USD. But the customer care agent refused to tell me the exchange rate they're using as of today. She only said the exchange rate will be determined at the point of the transaction. This got me scared. I think most of the banks now have $500 monthly limit on their cards.I already have a GT Bank Dollar Card, but the difference between N390 (online rate with Naira Master Card) and N475 (bureau de change rate) is much. especially when you order for things as frequent as possible. Just get a dollar card and save your self the stressKindly shed more light on this if you're serious about it. Several places to buy usd both online and bureau de change. |
Hi Nairalander's, I observed something recently while trying to use my GT Bank Naira Master Card on Aliexpress. Three days ago, I tried to help my younger sister make payment (of $156.79 USD) for her order on Aliexpress. But to my amazement, the payment wasn't successful. I contacted GT Bank customer service and was informed that their Naira Master Card has been restricted not to work on Trade websites like Aliexpress, Alibaba, Ebay, Amazon, etc. I also reached out to a friend who knows about the recent development and he told me that some people were taking advantage of the GT Bank's online exchange rate of N390 to $1USD to enrich themselves. Please anyone that has made payment on any International Trade Websites (within this week) using his or her Naira Master/Visa Card should kindly share his/her experience. Below is also an email I received from Fluterwave on their Barter Virtual Dollar Card Service Interruption on the 29th on July 2020. This is a sign that there is going to be some international transactions restriction on all Nigerian Bank Cards. Hey! |

duality:You can say that again. They have penetrated well (especially in the SME sector) |
Reet on Paul Alen. You were part of something massive that really changed the world. History will not forget you in a hurry. |
I have a problem with you being the only one commenting. I think some of your clients here in Nairaland should come and share tbeir experience |
Where are my Access Points....riped time to write a proposal to the school management on wifi deployment. |
I guess they are having issues to activate new lines at the moment. I know someone that bought their SIM that same Thursday and it was on Sunday morning the line became active. You may have to be more patient with them. |
femmmmi94:I can do beyond just login page. Your router's security is also very important. |
Nice post. Well done @OP |
I just like his simplicity |
@OP Nice post. Though when it comes to internet and privacy, a lot of Nigerians care less about their online privacy. They just connect and browse. Any other thing you're saying is not entering. We need to repent from that habit. |
Well done job @CBN and please continue to monitor the charges being melted on we consumers by these banks. |
Well explained and a good starting point for the OP. I love women in Tech. bigtt76: |
semasir: semasir: timoyesina:The only reliable solution I found was to get a a new Airtel SIM (dedicated for sms only), and bought their sms pack plan using *160# (N3,000 worth 2500 sms units), then download any bulk sms app on playstore that will be able to upload bulk sms numbers (.txt) and send sms using your mobile network. Even though I can't customize the sender name using this solution (because the receiver will definitely see the Airtel number I am sending the sms from), but I am 99.9% sure of delivery. The best part is that it's cheaper (N3000/2500 units =N1.2 per sms). In summary, I no longer use bulk sms websites to send bulk sms. i use mobile network (Airtel) to send sms using bulk sms app that can upload .txt file and send sms using my mobile carriage network. |
It's very obvious that most of the maids are well mannered and can take care of the home. Being educated and exposed doesn't mean one should throw away some manners required to keep a happy family. |
Thanks all. I have gotten a solution that works well for me. |
Any help? |
I use estore sms, but I noticed they don't deliver to Airtel & Glo DND enabled sim cards. I have an Airtel sim that is DND enabled. I don't receive any sms campaign from that sim (Airtel inclusive). but was surprised when I received an sms advert from one Micro finance bank yesterday on that line. I called estore customer care to complain about their corporate route not being able to deliver to active DND Airtel & Glo lines. But they customer care lady insisted that their corporate route deliver to all active DNS lines, which I can prove is not true. Does anyone has similar experience? And is there any sms website out there that delivers to active DND lines irrespective of the network? |
