& by the way, this thread has outlived its usefulness.
It should be closed now.
@ DC, that has always been the problem with opening a decent thread in Nairaland.

@Dhtml, please pardon me for putting the blame on you.The keyboard/keypad is yours. you can decide not to type anything & ignore any rubbish said against you. what ever they say will never stop you from getting clients that will still pay well. I encourage you to ignore most of the replies here that are meant to tarnish your good reputation. please protect your image by behaving mature. after all they have the right to criticize and express their self.

anyways, you look wealthy in your picture. it's very obvious you're making a living from what you're doing.

@doncigalo,
There is one thing i have learned from this thread and i will like to share it with us.(esp you in particular).
people know Sawyerr Ken (A.K.A Dual Core) NOT Trudigits. consider the following companies and their CEO's.

Bill Gates = Microsoft
Steve Jobs = Apple
Larry Page= Google
Henry Ford = Ford Motor Company
Mark Zuckerberg = Facebook
Seun Osewa = Nairaland
T.B Joshua = The Synagogue, Church of All Nations (no offense)

The brand personality of a CEO is what drives his company.
who is driving Whogohost?

I don't know Trudigits, but i know Sawyerr Ken (A.K.A Dual Core).

@Dhtml, what is your stake on what i have learnt?

Webmasters / Re: Trudigits: My Best Nigerian Web Host Ever by routik(m): 9:34am On Jun 11, 2012
if it is a small project - use trudigits. If global, you can still use trudigits or international standards.

Trudigits is working extremely hard to meet international standards. so no matter what your hosting needs are, they are equal to the task.

Webhosting in Nigeria ? Dang! may be its a reseller. Where is there electricity to host site here.
A wise Nigerian business man will never depend on power holding. (esp PHCN). Trudigits remotely manages its servers located in Germany as posted here by the owner.

i will try the company in my next hosting but if they fail me like other company, i will report them here as s c a m m e rz.
Trudigits will never fail you rather you'll never think of leaving them if you ever migrate.

I love my country naija but the [bfaith and trust[/b] is not there anymore 0%
how do you expect the country you don't trust and have faith in work for you? professionalism and ethics have nothing to do with country, or religion. If you dont believe in your country, you can't see change even if it's taking effect gradually.

What you call a limitation is what we call transparency.
That is what got me attracted to Trudigits at the very beginning.

I think webhosting is still to come of age in Nigeria. We should rather put the quality of service first before gunning for 6-figures in the bank account
That is what Trudigits have been striving to achieve since inception and are making significant progress on their QOS.

2. Inability to register for .com.ng domains
3. The pricing is outrageously high, trudigits sells 2gb for 7,700 whilst whogohost.com sells 2gb for 4,000. As you can tell trudigits pricing is actually twice of what is in d market.
That is what i honestly call demerit and think they should review it, and make some amendments.

I love my country, i believe in Nigeria, I value Nairaland.

Computer Market / Re: Laptop Repair Video Tutorial N6000 by routik(m): 8:48am On Jun 08, 2012
Alahji Umaru: I bought the video and its quite practical. Please where can i buy the computer repair kit i saw in the video

you can purchase any type of repair kit from the links below. although most of them are available in our local computer shops here in Nigeria. (esp Lagos, PH & Abuja)
link 1, link 2

I can also help you in ordering and shipping it to Nigeria.(though it will attract some additional charges for logistics).

Computers / Re: FG Enforces Ban On Foreign Computers: HP, LG & Samsung To Lose by routik(m): 10:18pm On May 16, 2012
Good product speaks for itself. No foreign government enforced people to be using android phones and Linux OS, despite the fact that they are Open source software. they should know how to compete globally and strategically market their product. Government didn't enforce people to register on nairaland because Seun did his assignment well. The total number of registered members can compete globally. even God didn't Enforce Himself on people!

henryskywalker2003: That is so not true. You are basing your theory on information that was last updated in 2008. I've come across nothing less than 8 or so CCIEs on linkedin alone.

unfortunately Cisco have removed the page from their website but as of 2010, it increased to 32. if you have the latest report on it, post it here.
Computers / Only 14 Nigerians Are CCIE Certified by routik(m): 2:54pm On Apr 03, 2012
from this analysis, there are 17840 CCIEs in the world, out of which 14 Nigerians made the list. to me, is a huge opportunity for Nigerians to make history and proof their level of competence in Nigeria. 14 is too small for a country of 160 million population. we can do better despite the fact that CCIE is a real life tough exam.
guys what do you think?

Marriage is such a reality! it is not for angels. you don't assume that all will be well. while you're dating, don't look desperate as if you're running out of time and can't wait to marry each other. you'll be shocked at the things that will keep unfolding series after series.

Business / Re: Starting An Electronic Payments Company by routik(m): 1:48pm On Mar 19, 2012
You have explained it better. Kudos.

1stCitizen: 1. Interswitch, Etranzact level?
Before a switch can operate in Nigeria, the existing regulations require that it should obtain the prior approval of the CBN. CBN will only licence the following types of companies as switching companies.
1.Deposit Money Banks
2. Consortium of Banks
3.  Agent of a bank or banking consortium, subject to CBN provisions
4. Any other company approved by the CBN

The guidelines and requirements are there in this link. This is a big operation and you will require over N200M to meet licensing fees, Insurance protection, Offices, Offshore back up data centres, system development, servers, Plants, Rent, Project management personnel etc

http://www.cenbank.org/OUT/CIRCULARS/BOD/2009/GUIDELINES%20ON%20TRANSACTIONS%20SWITCHING%20SERVICES.PDF

2. CashEnvoy, Eyowo level?

The regulations are silent on this model primarily because it is new and transactions still go through switching companies already licensed by CBN. You can run this type from a small office. Your major capital expenditure will be office, system development and 1 customer service staff/support staff. N1.5M will cover capital expenses and overheads for at least 2 months.

3. Onlinenaira, Graphcard level?

same as above

4. Pay4me services?

You can run pay4me services from a small office but you need to have a base or dedicated partner abroad. Your major capital expenditure might be system development. N800k will get you a good system and cover office set-up excluding rent but this will depend on your requirements and if you are integrating card payments(N150,000)
5. Money xfer services level
Costs will depend on where you are moving funds from and their destination. Provide more info.

@lastpage

I really appreciate the time you took to explain in details coupled with your personal experience.

In my own case, after i return from work, i become so tired to the extent of dozing while reading a book or browsing.

i have been looking for ways to tackle this issue, it think with all the key points mentioned here, I'll work out something.

Lastpage!!! i love your comment. can you elaborate more on:
One hour sleep can keep you refresh for the next 6hours
?

as for this:
Get plenty of sleep, skip T.V or Browsing the internet (Social Browsing as against academic browsing). Skip Nairaland as well!

it requires self discipline.

Why then don't you consider part-time study.

If you ask me, that is the best option for him. had it been he enrolled in one since 2006 by now he would have finished school. you already have a steady cash flow and your business have grown, part time/distance learning will still offer you the degree you're looking for.
take time and make the right decision.
all the best.

if you want to learn programming, concentrate one and forget all the others, treating them as if they don't exist.

Only then can you attain proficiency.

Programming / Re: I Have Decided To Become A Programmer/app Developer And I Need Some Guide by routik(m): 11:24am On Nov 28, 2011
I will advise you fit your perceptions into an image of an Entrepreneur who has Programming skills rather than a Programmer with Entrepreneurial skills. Any programmer can code, but only an exceptional entrepreneur can turn code into money.

I buy your concept, especially in the present economy. Talent/skills must be converted to money if not it will be a waste.
Business / Re: Starting A Business After University Or Getting A Job. Which One Is Better? by routik(m): 2:05pm On Nov 16, 2011
If you don't have what it takes to start a business then you have no option than to get a job(no matter how little), gather experience, save some money, secure your job or better still resign and make use of the savings as startup capital. If you can get loan from family and friends, better for you.

Computers / Re: I Helped Steve Jobs Create The Mac — Bill Gates by routik(m): 10:05pm On Nov 13, 2011
Bill Gates had more impact in computing than Steve. The impact of Bill Gates is also more noticeable in Nigeria. How many of us would be computer literate today if not for the PC? By making Windows open to any hardware vendor, Microsoft and Bill Gates opened up computing to all and for that Bill Gates will remain a computing icon no matter what Steve Jobs thinks or says.
Gbam!
They have all forgotten. where is Mac when you went to computer school? where is safari when you where using internet explorer 6 to open yahoomail?
Try and understand where Bill Gates is coming from. he has made he's point very clear.
Computers / Re: I Helped Steve Jobs Create The Mac — Bill Gates by routik(m): 10:02pm On Nov 13, 2011
as Apple struggled for years, only becoming dominant in the last decade.

Fact. for those of you claiming Bill is unimaginative and not creative. why are you still using windows? is just now that Apple products are becoming more popular. Bill is right after all.

We got to work together. We spurred each other on, even as competitors. None of that bothers me at all

That's a real business man talking. Microsoft is a software company. Bill competes and collaborate That's how it should be.

inside Abuja town. like wuse(all zones), maitama, Utako, Central area, good location in Abuja, etc.

The size should be big like a flat. it is for hospital equipment & laboratory equipment. NOT a hospital.
