I don't think you require a VSAT, the costs are prohibitive.

i recommended vsat because of consistency and reliability.

Wireless ISP's performs best in your area

If you don't want to have much timeouts and slow browsing issues, then i still maintain my choice of advice.

@salihu_ali

don't worry about whether you're spoiling my business or not. we are just giving out our opinions.

2.  can i use our Local ISP like starcomms, multilinks or VSAT?

For now, i recommend Vsat and i can help you with a good network (U.S).

Thanks.

Computers / Re: Are Internet Services In Nigeria Really Another Big Joke? by routik(m): 6:28pm On Apr 14, 2011
There are some businesses that require steady internet connection that cannot survive in Nigeria because of the ineffectiveness of our ISPs and you are saying people should be quiet about this and just swallow this rubbish?

If you notice in my reply earlier on i talked about our c-band dedicated bandwidth, the network am talking of is coming from U.S and  we have been using that network for more than a year now. they are reliable and speed is ok for a cafe business around university with 30 systems and outdoor wireless, if i combine and sum it all i have like 40 clients connected to our server at a time and we function MON- SUN.(minimum of 15 clients at a time)
How many Nigeria banks use Nigeria based ISP
for their business? our cafe image was nearly tarnished when we were using one Nigeria ISP (don't want to mention names).

I have hooked few people up with tbis same network and no much complain apart form solar outage period and during upgrade/maintenance which doesn't last for 1hr at wort 2hrs.

here is my conclusion:
Reliable, stable and efficient internet is expensive (esp outside Nig), the speed of visa, starcomms, multiklinks 1X and that of EVDO will never be the same.
I think the major problems in Nigeria internet is

1. good equipments that can hook tight and remain stable for a long time connection without timing out (esp to their satellite)

2. efficient bandwidth management and sharing plus billing system.( i manage our cafe network well, no shitting ).

I am tired of typing lipsrsealed
Computers / Re: Are Internet Services In Nigeria Really Another Big Joke? by routik(m): 1:08pm On Apr 14, 2011
you guys are really funny. you don't want to be realistic for once. you want to do everything online in this country? with which ISP?
yes! they claim to have 3G while they don't and so? now that you know what will you do about it?
you have to tell your self the truth in order to enjoy and appreciate what your country have at the moment.
where i stay GLO and VISA work fine for me. in my office (Cyber cafe) i can only download heavily when there are no customers, meaning am the only one pulling the whole C-band bandwidth (dedicated) which of course will be very fast because am the only one using it.
talking of my GLO and VISA, i use my glo only when i just want to browse at home, email, Facebook, twitter, research, download small eBooks and small online activities but once i want to download at home, i use my VISA evdo (esp midnight). I'll just click download then go and sleep till morning.

I am beginning to think is online video business is really feasible in Nigeria,  So sad
For now i can't only but say that we are yet to get there. hope you have other means of income? while you keep trying your online video business.

well folks, i can now boldly say i have solution for network and bandwidth management. I now give people network and help them manage it as well. if my ISP(Not Nigeria ISP) want  to carry out maintenance or upgrade, they will give me notice on time, besides i encourage my clients to go for higher bandwidth.

TTO Assurance from my buyer

The buyer is ready to produce POF if necessary.
The important step here is for the seller to take the vessel and contents to International waters. Once that is done and documents are released, the buyer Supercargo people complete the Q&Q. All payments are effected (logistics, cargo, agents) and vessel is taken over by buyer to disport.

NOTE: Our procedures are simple and our buyers are real, not fakes. Also, transaction usually completes in less than a week.

CIF Assurance from my buyer

Collins,

If any person or group claim to have cude for sale, or have an allocation, ask them to provide a Letter of Origin. Once we get that letter we can help them place the 2% Performance Bond (PB) that's required to seal the deal on a CIF or FOB transaction. I'll call later to confirm this directive"

i have not come here to read jargon comments. if you're a genuine seller or have access to one, please kindly drop your contact info for further details.

@K2
how can i determine a genuine seller, and those  of you that claim to have loaded vessel, crude oil is not a crayfish business that you can just load and then start looking for buyer. we,re talking of millions of dollars here both the seller and the buyer must come to final agreement.
but kai, i need a genuine seller, how can i  know one? majority that have contacted me are hostlers and scammers, one was flashing me and said i should text the procedures to his phone. lol

ONE OF MY BUYERS PROCEDURES STATED:

NOTE: Failure by Seller to move vessel and contents to Cotonou for Q&Q (by buyer) and failure by Buyer to complete Q&Q and place financial instrument, shall attract a fine of USD 1,000,000.00 (one million US dollars) to be paid by the defaulting party to the offended party.

Celebrities / Lil Wayne "free At Last" by routik(m): 10:56pm On Nov 04, 2010
Lil Wayne's been sprung.

The rapper's out of solitary and back in the real world after serving eight months of his one-year gun sentence at New York's Rikers Island, the New York Department of Corrections confirms to E! News.

But because of his high profile,Wayne wasn't let loose according to the jail's norms.

So what special precautions were taken to slip him out under the radar?

MORE: What did President Clinton have to say about Wayne yesterday?

Well, according to a DOC spokesman, the normally 75-100 prisoners released daily are loaded on buses and taken to a courthouse, where their loved ones or friends meet them for pickup.

Not the case with Wayne.

"He left according to standard procedures in a correction vehicle, but not with others," said the department rep. "It's unusual in the sense that if you have a high-profile inmate, you have to transport him individually. It's a modification of our standard procedure. In this case different arrangements were made because of his extraordinarily high profile. He was dropped at an undisclosed location and met by his associates."

Weezy is headed to Miami for a welcome home party, said his longtime manager, Cortez Bryant, who tweeted "FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!"

The DOC spokesman added that the whole operation went incredibly "smooth" and Wanye, real name Dwayne Carter Jr., left the jail "sometime prior to 9 a.m."

To his relief, we're sure.

"I was never scared, worried nor bothered by the situation," Lil Wayne said Tuesday through Weezythanxyou.com, a website he set up to communicate with his fans from jail.

Wayne, who also released a Billboard No. 1 album last month, I Am Not a Human Being, had spent the tail end of his prison sentence in "punitive segregation," i.e., solitary, as punishment for sneaking headphones and a charger for an MP3 player into his cell earlier this year. He spent 23 hours a day alone in there until this morning, when he most likely discovered he had a new friend—in, well, the highest place.

President Bill Clinton yesterday had called him "smart," saying he hopes he'll never land behind bars again.

"This guy's smart. And he's got abilities. And he's got a new chance now. And what I hope is that this is not just something to brand him as a cool guy, but that it'll never happen again to him," Clinton said during an interview, adding that he hoped he "has a good life now."

We're sure he's already started to.
