Two unidentified thieves were caught stealing a generator set at state housing estate Ikom, Cross River state. The two thieves ran out of luck when they were caught red handed while trying to steal some generator set by some angry mobs who gave them the beatings of their lives and was about to set them ablaze before the arrival of police, who came and arrested them.

The Management of the University of Calabar has deployed heavy and intense security around and within the institution following the killing of two students by gunmen in a suspected renewed wave of Secret Cults Groups clash on campus.

Besides the directives of the Vice Chancellor as Head of management that Police Patrol Teams be stationed at the main gate of the Institution and the Internal Security Team at other strategic parts of Campus, random Stop and Search of Persons and vehicles at vulnerable point is been vigorously intensified.

A release issued by the Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Moses Abang indicates that the Patrolling/Combing exercise has paid off with the arrest of 11 suspected Cultists who have been handed over to the Anti-Cultism/ Kidnapping Unit of the Nigeria Police, Cross River State Command for further interrogation.


The release further stated that on March 16, 2018, gunmen launched unsuspecting attacks on one Oko Sylvester Ayide (AKA: DAVIDO), a final year student of the Department of Theatre, Film and Carnival Studies, University of Calabar and Wilson Augustine Ebina, a 2nd year student of the Department of Education Science (Chem Edu.) in a violent manner that resulted in their death.

Investigation revealed that Prior to his death, Oko Sylvester who was shot on the stomach has been on suspension for his involvement in various acts of cultism and robbery while Wilson Ebina was shot dead at a building under construction opposite the Faculty of Education Twin Theatre Hall. Both are said to belong to the Vikings Confraternity.

In a related development, a final year student of the Faculty of Law and resident of Hall 4, Nkanu, Augustine Ebri (Abacha) and Obimbua Obey Joseph (AKA: Obe), also a final year student of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences are on the run following the discovery of dangerous items in Nkanu’s room by operatives of the Security Unit of the University.

Items recovered from the room include one locally made pistol, one small axe, one face mask, live and expended cartridges, Military camouflage, Military Sweater, One Long Dagger, One Machete, assorted bottles of concoctions, Charms/finger rings, Assorted Phones, Cult regalia, Drugs/Wraps of Indian Hemp and a host of others

The dangerous items have been handed over to the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Nigeria Police, Cross River State Command for further investigation.

An Ohio mother and her boyfriend appeared in court on Tuesday to face charges in the beating death of the woman's four-year-old daughter, sparking a furious outburst from the child's biological father.

Sierra Day, 23, and Deonte Lewis, 26, both from Euclid, have been charged with aggravated murder after the woman's four-year-old daughter, Aniya Day-Garrett, suffered a fatal stroke that officials say was caused by repeated blows to the head.

A judge set the couple's bonds at $1million each. As they were being led out of the courtroom, Mickhal Garrett jumped to his feet and screamed in anguish: 'You killed my f***ing child! You hurt my baby.'



He then collapsed, sobbing, into the arms of family members who accompanied him to the bond hearing.

Police said paramedics were called to the Cultural Garden Apartments on Lakeshore Boulevard in Euclid at around 11.30am on Sunday for a report of a child with burn marks who was unresponsive. Fire officials said there was no fire at the complex.

Aniya was rushed to Euclid Hospital hospital, where she died of a stroke. Staff reported her death to police as a suspected homicide.

While students in a South Carolina school participated in the National School Walkout this week, a custodian helped herself to their cash, police said.
The incident occurred at Richland Northeast High School on Wednesday.
Aisha Evans, a custodian at the school, went into a classroom while students were outside and rummaged through three book bags, the Richland County Sheriff's Department said.
In all, Evans stole $180, the department said.
The custodian was arrested soon afterward and charged with three counts of petty larceny.
Evans, 32, was employed by Service Solutions, an agency that provides custodial services to the district's school.
The agency terminated the woman, the school district told CNN affiliate WIS.
"On Thursday, March 15, Service Solutions notified Richland Two that Evans is no longer an employee of the company and was informed that she cannot come on any Richland Two property," Richland Two School District said in its statement to the affiliate.
It's unclear whether Evans has retained a lawyer.

I was born into this world in the month of March. I grew like other children, happy and strong and was always willing to try new things. Born and raised in Cross River, Calabar I learnt the language and the ways of the Efiks then I relocated to Imo State, Owerri after my elementary education in Calabar. I started my high school in Owerri and completed my junior secondary education before I moved to Sweden. During my stay at Owerri, I learnt my mother tongue perfectly and could read, write and communicate with it, it was indeed an exciting experience although moving to Sweden was a bit fascinating amongst all.



I started my dance career as a kid. I would go to birthday parties and dance, win prices and return home as a victorious child. As time went on I started competing in big dance competitions in Nigeria such as Calabar festival, UTCH end of the year party and Ibariogwa children’s day where I won and was crowned queen in the year 2012/2013. I was also good at track and field event during my school days. I won inter-house sports competitions, led the school during parades on the 1st of October and was a good debate candidate. I enjoyed all these but what continuously gave me joy was dance so I had to follow my heart.

My coming to Sweden paved a way for my dance to expand easily so I settled down to learn the language and become familiar with my new environment. I’m a medical student and in my first year of study. Combining music and classes isn’t an easy task to accomplish but once the motivation is present, everything flows along. I started here in Sweden by teaching some classmates of mine, and then joined a Cultural group and now I run my own dance classes. I shoot videos, post them on my pages and go for dance shows and competitions. I have had the opportunity to mingle with great dancers and musicians and I am thankful for all these opportunities. Music and dance is something I’m known for, they gladden my spirit and keep me moving. Without hard work, success cannot be achieved, and this is the reason I keep the train moving and would never give up no matter how difficult it might seem. The end is never the end until you decide it.

This is so sad and unfortunate; A student of University of Calabar identified as Kush Baba kicked the bucket yesterday leaving his friends and family in tears.

According to his close friend who spoke to royalsgist.com and some chat on facebook that was screenshots it appears that Kush was very sick and was admitted to the hospital where he died.

Yours truly learnt that the young man is a 419 who tries to duped an old woman he picked from State Secretariat.

According to the woman, the 419 were two in number, deceiving the woman that they are working or the wife of the governor that they missed way, the Woman was sharp started shouting Ino Ino Ino and that was how the guy was trap.

The guy was beaten an jungle justice was about to be done on him but I rescued him, I alerted Police Headquarters who came and took over the case but his Keke was burnt.

A heartbroken man shared a touching story of how his little cousins were set ablaze by their minor house help in Awka, Anambra three weeks ago.

According to him, the kids who were rushed to the hospital on that day, one of the kids identified as Ekene was reportedly lost the battle at about 1 am this morning in the hospital while the other kid Ebuka is still battling with his life.

He wrote:

May be its time to talk about this. About three weeks ago, my two little cousins met a near fatal fate as their house help, a minor set them ablaze for no concrete reason.

My boy Ekene and his brother Ebuka fought hard. This night, around 1am, news reached us that Ekene has lost the battle. Ebuka is still fighting on. Please pray for my boy Ebuka.

[b]H.E Gov. Gaidam Hosts FG Committee to Unravel Dapchi Schoolgirl Abductions
The committee set up by the National Security Adviser (NSA) Major General Babagana Monguno (Rtd) to unravel the circumstances surrounding the abduction of students from Government Girls Science Technical College (GGSTC) Dapchi has met with H.E Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam at Government House Damaturu today.
The committee is chaired by Rear Admiral VO Adedipe. It has 12 members drawn from various security agencies, the office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and also from the Yobe State Government.
Rear Admiral Adedipe, who commiserated with the governor and the government and people of Yobe State over the sad incident, said the federal government is "leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the girls are rescued (and returned) safely back home".
"Your Excellency, our committee was set up and inaugurated by the National Security Adviser (NSA) to unravel the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the students from GGSTC Dapchi, and we are tasked with seven terms of reference", Adedipe said.
"The first one is to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the abduction of the students on the 19th of February 2018. The second term of reference is for us to determine the exact number of persons that were abducted on that day and the third one is to confirm the presence, composition, scale, and disposition of the security in Dapchi as well as in the school on that day.
"We are also to look at the communication facilities in Dapchi and their functionality on that day. In addition, we will recommend to the government the measures to locate and rescue the students. As we speak, Your Excellency, a lot is going on with a view to locating and rescuing the students.

"And then, we are also to suggest measures to be put in place in order to prevent future occurrence of this unfortunate incidence. And lastly, we are supposed to recommend any other measure that we may feel necessary as a committee.
"When we came into Maiduguri yesterday, we interacted with the Chief of Army Staff. We also interacted with the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole and we got into Damaturu yesterday and we interacted with the GOC 3 Armoured Div. After seeing Your Excellency, we would crave your indulgence to interact with some of your very senior officials because there are a number of issues we want to look into with a view to meeting the terms of reference of our committee", the chairman of the committee said.
In his speech, H.E Gov. Gaidam described the visit by the committee as a "significant milestone" which reinforces the commitment of the Federal Government to the protection of the lives and property of the people and the enhancement of their living conditions.
"I would like to state that since the unfortunate attack on Dapchi town and the College which resulted in 110 school Girls unaccounted for, we have, on the marching orders of President Muhammadu Buhari, received four separate high-level delegations from the Federal Government on sympathy and fact-finding missions", the governor said.
H.E Gov. Gaidam said the setting up of the committee by the federal government and its deployment to the state inspires confidence that the abducted schoolgirls will be found.
"Our hopes are raised, and we remain in a high spirit that right steps and strategies are continuously being put in place to ensure that the missing schoolgirls are returned to their parents in good health. I am optimistic that with the kind of inspiring concern we have seen exhibited by the Federal Government, other patriotic Nigerians and indeed the International community, efforts will continue to be intensified until all the girls are found.", the governor said.
H.E Gov. Gaidam further said: "The Committee’s interface with stakeholders in the State, particularly the wider society and the security agencies will serve as an important avenue of getting relevant information firsthand that will facilitate and ease its assignment.

"However, after a thorough investigation by the school authority and report by the parents after the incident, it was revealed that 110 students were missing.
"At this point, let me inform the Committee of further developments since Thursday, 22nd February 2018 when I met the first Federal Government delegation led by the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed at Dapchi.
"During our interaction, I requested for the redeployment of soldiers to Dapchi due to the fact that it is the headquarters of a frontline Local Government in which a girls’ boarding school with an enrolment figure of about 1000 girls is located.
"I am glad to note that the Nigerian Army has acted with dispatch on that request by redeploying about 100 soldiers to Dapchi. I have also noted that some Army checkpoints, like those in Ngelzarma and Damagum, have also been realigned in order to respond to any security threat to schools at various locations in the State. May I, therefore, express our appreciation to the Military high command and the Theatre Commander for prompt response to our request.
"I equally wish to bring to the notice of the Chairman and members of this important Committee that immediately after our meeting with the Federal Government delegation comprising the Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of Interior on Sunday, 25th February 2018, the delegation gave orders to the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to provide security to all the schools in the State and this has been complied with. All these are steps in the right direction in order to assure parents that their children are safe to stay and study in all schools in the State.
"May I at this point take the opportunity to reiterate our commendation for the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Air Force, other security operatives, and for the political will and commitment being exhibited by President Muhammadu Buhari in the fight against insurgency and other forms of crimes in Nigeria. The Nigerian Armed forces and sister security agencies should equally continue to strengthen synergy and effective collaboration including exchange of information for effective surveillance, particularly aerial surveillance by the Nigeria Air Force. This will enable the officers and men of the Nigerian Army; the Nigeria Air Force and other security operatives cover all the Local Government Areas particularly the vulnerable areas in Yobe State.

Two seriously injured as armed robbers attack and rob the owner of wabiyoona plaza big sums of money in bweyogerere near mamerito hotel.

Madam wabiyoona was from withdrawing money from the bank in order to pay off her workers since the month has ended. The robbers followed her up to her office in bweyogerere, asked her to handover all the money and she tried to resist, this prompted the robbers to first stub �her by the neck and grab the money

She jumped out of her office screening loudly for help, the neighbours got concerned and started to gather to find out what was the problem, the robbers then started shooting in air to scare people and ran into the nearby banana plantation

The people then pursued them in to the banana plantations forcing the robbers to shoot direct at the people injuring of two people. Martin (in the picture below) was seriously injured and his right foot is almost off.
