Subsidies are paid to reduce the costs to the end users.

Nigeria, since the time of Abacha has NEVER had its refineries working to full capacity hence we've always imported.

Until private refineries work in Nigeria, government would need to continue to subsidise unless the citizens are willing to bear the high cost.

For as long as you import, it would be in line with the landing costs which includes the prevailing exchange rate.

If it must be sold at "proper" rate, it would be out of the reach of the general public and can only lead an increase in the cost of living and production.

Even as bleak as things might be in some states, Lagos can look forward to the light rail, Dangote's refinery, the Deep sea port, Eko Atlantic hosting the US base right there in Lagos and so much more.

Tell me a state that has a blueprint that it can boast of.

What are the other states looking up to?

What are the legacies of the leaders there?

I have to say, if years to come, a leader from the present and past governors of Awka Ibom are presented, I would give them a good support.
They are bringing state to the level expected slowly but surely.

When one is exposed to various dimensions of life, those views can be probed for what they really are and then you discover you were being blindfolded.

For example, in some parts of an SS state, it is very common foe them to label a child a witch.
Those born in that community hold on to such views with such vigour.

Whe they go out of state and live amongst a different group of people, they begin to rethink their views on those "witches" in their community of origin.
