we're not going to lose the game the worst thing that could happen is we draw. No let me ask you the same question what will your own conclusion be if milan don't win the game? remember they lost two nil to ajax at the san siro during the group stages cheesy

And am predicting thier thirty something players will tire half way throug the second half smiley wink
& i bet that also means that the standard of the Eredivisie is now higher than the Calcio!!?

The way i see it, spurs should be thanking their stars that the Milan players are 30-somethings cuz if all they could achieve after all this plenty huffing & puffing was the decimation of poor ol' Abbiati, then they got loads to learn about playing in the UCL.

Be wary of these 30-somethings, they have experience on their side & dem no dey buy am for market  grin grin grin

Seriously. . . . this spurs team do not have a clue. Fine they're running their socks off and forcing the issue; but if they don't have a healthy lead by the 70th minute, i wonder how some of their players will finish the match --- Crouch is already gasping for breath like a fish outta water, Palacios, VDV & Lennon look like they will not make it beyond the 75min mark.
Milan might be playing at a slower, boring pace --- maybe inadvertently --- but seems the sensible thing to be doing given the conditions.

Sad to see the run come to an end. . . .but we still have a hand on the title and sorely need to do something about our away form.

Sevilla actually sucks this season. Fall hand team.
In the CDR first leg, Kanoute was virtually the only player that tried to hold the ball up in the middle and push it forward. He was also the only one trying to break up RM's play in the middle. All the other guys were just doing aimless runs into space. The defence was decent though.
Sometimes when you watch Fabiano play at Sevilla, it's almost like it's not the same chap that plays for Brazil. He is so lazy, never tries to win balls, always has the ball taken away from him easily.
No be lie. . . .didn't expect any miracle to happen against RM; not in that second leg at least.

i think everybody associated with Sevilla Fc is basically just waiting for this season to end so that manzano can start afresh on a clean slate. Del Nido has now realized for the club to make form of impact, they have to spend and try to keep their better players. there's no creativity in midfield, all we do is take the ball wide; and even in that department, Capel and Perroti are failing woefully to deliver (the latter being surprising cuz earlier in the season, he was one of our brighter sparks).
If we can keep Negredo for next season, i'd be very delighted; as for Fabiano, i am still undecided abotu him because he's got potential just needs someone to push him to work harder.

I have told you before that it is a big shame for a fan not to talk about his club . . . villareal is snapping on your backside not madrid . . . cheesy. it is very unlikely that we will fall below second position judging from recent history . You are not shamed that you are not even in the top four and not forgetting that you might not be going to europe this at the end of this season? . . grin . . Espanyol and villareal which are small clubs to you are disgracing you in the league and it is madrid or mourinho that is your problem . . don't worry we will give you your usual dose on Wednesday . . grin cheesy

By the way stop the jealousy . . You can never have a coach that will make that record neither will your club ever do such a thing . . break or not . . he has tried . .8 years undefeated at home in four different leagues and clubs. . . na beans cool

Rakitic? Great signing. . .
Now, Sevilla has one of the worst defence in the primera liga. They're one of or the only team in the top 8 with a - gd. What is now the sense in selling Konko who is the only shinning light in the defence to Genoa. Manzano is a man of wonders.
You have to understand that we run on very limited budget and have to sell to buy. . . .no doubts Konko is one of the far better players in our rank but thats only in the attacking sense; he's very much like an Alves.
We'll definitely shore up the defence at the close season but more than that we desperately need that playmaker in the middle of the park to create things --- Romaric & Zokora is hardly the pair to deliver this!

Am glad we didn't get any new players for the squad. . . .yep, we are not playing but the relative stability and understanding amongst the players we have is what is keeping us afloat thus far.

Liverpool and Chelsea potentially are going to be spending valuable tinkering their squads to accommodate new personnel. . . .in our position, we cannot to be doing this at this stage. Granted, not shoring up the squad is a big risk, but one i feel worth taking given the time - we're almost there, almost there!

The pace and movement makes it hard to figure out who is where; and the precision of the play sometimes is just absolutely mind-blowing. . . .u can't watch this team and not appreciate the beauty and balance in the play; its pure poetry in motion - well except of course, you are a Madrista grin

Rakitić is commonly deployed for his very mature and strong playing style. While playing in the Bundesliga with Schalke, he is mainly used as a held back playmaker and is capable of creating attacks and also holding the ball well to keep possession. He is, to a much lesser extent, also known for contributing to defense which is only seen when his club would play a defensive game. He often is chosen to take set pieces for both Schalke and Croatia.

While playing at international level, Rakitić has also been referred to as a striker as used a few times in a more forward position by current coach Slaven Bilić. However, his midfield ability is also used to great effect combined with Croatia's touch and move football which sees many passing along the pitch and also gives him the ability to make many runs on the left flank to create attacks.[17] He has shown a great knowledge of offense in many games, and his delivery and unexpected shot accuracy are also among his strengths.
We certainly need a great deal of that grin

Sevilla have signed Chile midfielder Gary Medel on a four-and-a-half year contract.

The 23-year-old, known as "Pitbull" for his ferocious handling of opponents, can play in midfield or defence and has spent the last year and a half with Boca Juniors.

He has won 28 caps for Chile and played at the World Cup finals in South Africa last year.

Medel is Sevilla's second recruit of the January transfer window after Croatia midfielder Ivan Rakitic and the club said on its website that he would be presented with his new team mate later in the day.

Sevilla are preparing for a King's Cup semi-final second leg at Real Madrid on Wednesday, where they need to overturn a 1-0 deficit if they are to continue the defence of their title.

Mourinho snubs media ahead of Copa match

Tue, 25 Jan 14:55:00 2011

Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho opted for silence as the best way to defuse tensions before the Copa del Rey semi-final against Sevilla, leaving his assistant Aitor Karanka to face the media.

Sevilla have been accused of stirring up the atmosphere ahead of Wednesday's first leg at the Sanchez Pizjuan, planning special security measures to ensure no Real officials are allowed near the referee at half-time.

"Mourinho doesn't want to get involved in what's being said and what's happening," Karanka said at Real's training ground in Madrid.

"He doesn't want to be punished for trying to defend the club. He wants normality and has decided I appear instead. He doesn't want to add to what's coming from Sevilla. Whatever he says will be used to punish him."

Sevilla's unusual actions are a result of a controversial semi-final second leg between the two clubs in February 2004.

Real official Jorge Valdano, now the club's director general, was accused of speaking to the referee during the interval minutes after Zinedine Zidane was sent off.

Sevilla then had Javi Navarro shown a second yellow card early in the second half.

Sevilla have also made a television commercial to promote the tie in which their players strip to the waist, put on war paint and strike aggressive poses, over a slogan in Portuguese which says "We are going to leave you without a title".

Karanka added: "Sevilla have created a heated atmosphere for the game. The disciplinary committees will have to decide if it is punishable or not, like they have done with Mourinho.

"It's a semi-final and Sevilla have a good record in this competition, but we aren't going to war."

Mourinho has had a number of brushes with football authorities this season, and was investigated by the Spanish football federation after being accused of helping create a hostile atmosphere around their La Liga match away to Sporting Gijon back in November.

I think the level has dropped overall, but the gap between the best and the worst has reduced because the drop in quality has been greater at the top than at the bottom.

That aside though, the performance from Utd in the second half was peerless. . . .Fergie's ruthlessness in removing Rooney for Hernandez probably sealed the game for y'all.
