We was there for the taking. . . .& Liverpool took their chance! Its not about the 4-4-2; for me its about the choice of players. . .i personally would not mind having Berba & Chicharito upfront, Rooney just isn't doing an awful lot right at the moment - Gibson should be in there, at least he is not as soft as Carrick. Obertan & Bebe - walahi if i ever set my eyes on those guys. . . .na correct sounding i go give dem With our current shortage of wingers, you'd have thot one of the stupid jar-heads woulda stepped up their game sufficiently to be challenging for a 1 st team place. Nani gets injured & we can't even have the confidence to call on one of them! |

OYINBOGOJU: Liverpool's Steven Gerrard Set To Miss Manchester United Clash Due To Recurring Groin Injury – Report This is not good news oh. . . .i'd rather prefer our midfield play against SG than Mereiles - he's a very good, technically adept player. I'd rather we play against Mereiles on the wings where he'd be limited somewhat! |

The threat Munain, Llorente and Torquero pose worries me seriously. . . .that defence is so, so shaky - Love to see a Zokora or Medel asked specifically to sit in front of the back-4 and leave rakitic free; our defending is way too gung-ho to be trusted - players advance too far forward for their own good too many times! |

Athletico's victory once puts pressure on us to get all three points at the San Malmes. . . .a very daunting task considering how much of a fortress it is becoming lately - key thing is Bilbao also need a win, makes for an open contest and equal chances of a win for both sides!
Athletico Madrid, Bilbao & Sevilla all on 38pts with Sociedad just hovering beneath on 35, its really very tight! |

Darren Fletcher signs new Manchester United deal Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher has signed a new four-year contract with the club.
Scotland international Fletcher, 27, graduated through the youth academy at Old Trafford and has gone on to make 288 appearances, scoring 21 goals.
Sir Alex Ferguson told the club website: "I am extremely proud that he came through the youth academy.
"I am delighted Darren has signed a new contract, he has developed into a top-class midfielder."
Since making his debut in 2003 Fletcher has won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League and the Fifa Club World Cup.
The Scot has been an important figure for United this season, starting 33 appearances and scoring three goals.
Fletcher said: "I take great pride in playing for Manchester United, I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come. I would like to thank everyone at the club."
Fletcher follows Michael Carrick in committing his future to the club after the England midfielder signed a three-year deal on Thursday.
United have been tying their star names to new deals in recent months, with France left-back Patrice Evra signing a deal until 2014 and Ryan Giggs extending his career at Old Trafford by another year. |

Michael Carrick, right, has signed a new three-year deal with Manchester United. Photograph: Philippe Laurenson/Reuters The Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has signed a new three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season.
The 29-year-old England player made his debut for United in August 2006, after signing from Tottenham Hotspur. He has made 218 appearances for United, scoring 17 goals and winning three Premier League titles, one League Cup, one Champions League and the Club World Cup.
The Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, said: "I am delighted Michael has signed a new contract. He has been outstanding since joining us from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006, he is a true professional and it's great he has committed his future to the club."
Carrick said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at this great club. There is fantastic team spirit within the squad and I'm pleased to have committed my future to United. We are in a very good position at the moment and I am confident this team will be successful for many years to come."
He'd better pick up form sharp. . . . . if not, he'll see how fast "fantastic team spirit" can turn into a Bleep! |

KANOUTÉ, NEGREDO AND FABIANO REACH 47 GOALS FOR THE SEASONWednesday, 2 March 2011 The forwards as working and this always coincides with the team doing well. Kanouté, Negredo and Luis Fabiano are competing for the two spots and sometimes there have been arguments, but it means that when selected they try to take advantage fully. The role of Kanouté, who on many occasions has played in the hole, this without a doubt means that Negredo and Luis Fabiano, that have both scored a brace of goals in the last two games, are competing together. Between the three attackers they have scored 47 goals in all competitions, 17 for Kanouté, 16 for Negredo and 14 for Fabiano.Negredo has placed the most with a total of 2,545 minutes in 43 games. The Madrilenian has scored 10 in the league, 5 in the Cup and one in Europe. Kanouté has played 35 games, 2,197 minutes, with 8 goals in the league, 5 in Europe, 2 in the Supercup, one in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey. Fabiano has played 34 games, with 2,222 minutes scoring 10 in the league, one in Europe, Champions League, SuperCup and Copa. With 12 games still to play, it is probable that this sensational three pronged attack will score more than 50 goals this season in their first season together.

Good set of results in this round of matches see us in 7 th place - on par with Bilbao; and just two points adrifit of espanyol occupying the first Europa ligue spot. . . amazing, weeks ago i thought we'd blown any chance of making europe next season. Hope still springs eternal Bilbao losing to Zaragoza & Espanyol's surprise capitulation at home against Mallorca certainly helped. . . .but its still hot i this europa ligue zone; Sociedad, Athletico, Mallorca & even Getafe can all sneak in, its exciting, almost like a mini-ligue outside the bigger picture! |

Painful loss. . . . .Rooney got the goal but i personally feel he was clearly below par; very wasteful with the few glimpses at goal we had. I hope Gary didn't slap the taste outta his mouth after he threw away that glorious opportunity away - he was going berserk in the stands Ando shoulda been in the middle and Rafael at RB, Giggs and Nani on both flanks. . . .the Gaffer clearly got it wrong! But bottomline, we're still four points clear of the front runner in the chasing pack for now. We still have the edge, just have to keep & stay focused on the ultimate prize! |
