I don't particularly like Inter or JM 4 that matter - but for the sake of Eto'o, Milito and Pandev; I hope they beat Chelsea right there at the bridge!

Stamford bridge is split down the middle - most Chelsea never really liked or supported Chelsea, they just liked JM!

I can see the Serie A defenders are better

AC Milan conceded 7 goals in 180mins to Manure.

Juventus conceded 4 goals in 90mins to Bayern

So much for Serie A defence.

Man Utd 4 AC Milan 0 and Juventus 1 Bayern 4 are still the most disgraceful scoreline in this seasons CL
i think these stats would be more relevant if u checked the defensive records ITA v SPA defences - or better still SPA vs other sides / ITA vs other sides.

I want badly for AC to win this title, its becoming quite boring seeing Inter on the podium every end of the season.

The game wasn't advertised tis why i assumed SS would show it.

@Bluediva
You might want to tone it down a little.CTL has a pending court case to televise premiership matches in Nigeria. You're watchin' illegal TV!
aieroman, i understand u; what annoys me is that up until friday evening (the last time i watched their HiSport channels), they advertised the UTD-Fulham game. they musta altered their online schedule after that day or forgot to yank off the tv advert - but bottomline is, it was never DsTV's match to aire given that they'd already shown the Chelsea game the evening before!

As for CTL's EPL airing being illegal - i beg to disagree. . . . CTL do not have their own dedicated stations showing these games; its more like affiliate stations that they do not have so much control over - its like saying HiTV should stop SET from showing the amazing race at so-so time. Well, we wait on the courts but i think, HITV do not really have a case!

Are you sure about this?

I'm asking because its on SS3 but it is not on SS3N meaning they do not have the right to
broadcast it to Naija
SS3 shows all/most premiership games, albeit outside naija - SS3N is for naija viewing and they show select number of games - 1 or 2 in a weekend; they showed Chelsea - West ham last night. . . . not possible that they'll have rights to aire this game.

Its HITV's f.cuk up!

Hitv is not showin' the Utd v Pool match. They should sort out this mess with SS.
I can't run helter-skelter like this next week.
I beg to disagree. . . . even on Friday night i saw the promo on HITV for this game and they categorically stated the time & station. SS showed Chelsea - West ham yesterday, so its highly unlikely that tonight's an SS game.
SS never advertised this match - but they have advertised that they're showing the UTD - L'pool game; hope HITV no go carry bad-belle go disturb us from seeing the game like today oh!

Madrid provide the fireworks yet again

In Germany, they reckon that little gives a man as much pleasure as watching his best friend fall off a roof. In Catalonia the sense of humour is slightly different: there, the belief is that nothing is as entertaining as observing your worst enemy suffer crippling calamity.

On Wednesday night, the fireworks were lighting up the Barcelona sky from the moment Miralem Pjanic equalised for Lyon in the 75th minute of the Champions League tie against Real Madrid. And once it became clear that Real were out, beaten in the last sixteen round for the fifth year in succession, this time by a side currently lying fourth in the French league, the partying along the Ramblas was unrestrained.

Wednesday's elimination of Real proves once again in football there is no such thing as destiny. Bolstered by President Florentino Perez's huge spending on the second generation of Galacticos, it was widely assumed in Spain's capital that Real were on course for the dream: winning their 10th European Cup in their own stadium. Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, two of the best three players in the world would guarantee that. Now the nightmare is unfolding.

Instead of inviting destiny into their home city, come the end of May, the locals will have to play host to invading hordes from England, Germany, France or - horror of horrors - Catalonia. And the thing is, anyone with any footballing foresight could have seen it coming.

Real have a desperation to succeed that may be admirable in other circumstances, but in football has become their Achilles heel. Every year, the urgency to get on in Europe overwhelms them. Every year a new man comes in with a new plan to secure domination. If the Galactico idea doesn't deliver immediate results, so they bring in a bunch of work-hungry Dutchmen. When that doesn't work, they buy up the Italian World Cup winning side. When that doesn't work , in come more Dutchmen, or young Spaniards, or South Americans. Then the Galactico experiment is revived as if it had been a triumph all along.

Now, presumably, they will bust the bank to bring in their Bosnian conqueror on Wednesday night, a Pjanic buy if ever there was one. Meanwhile, in the coach's dugout, the occupant varies from yes man to his own man according to prevailing whim, though they are expected to fall on their sword and take the blame for others' mistakes whoever they are.

And while Madrid vacillates like a Liberal Democrat in a polling booth, in Manchester, London and Barcelona, continuity is the order of the day. A guiding philosophy remains in place season after season. Coaches have security of tenure. And surprise surprise, United, Arsenal and Barca all do much better than Real, getting to finals regularly and occasionally winning them.

The latest idea to sweep through the Bernabeu is to blame Manuel Pelligrini, get rid of him and go shopping at the top end of the coach's market. Jose Mourinho would sort things out, it is thought. Well, he might well do, for a bit. It is certainly unlikely a Mourinho team would have surrendered as meekly as Kaka, Ronaldo, Guti and the rest did on Wednesday. But Mourinho would never want to go anywhere where the security of tenure is so fragile and where the say-so of the board is required to be acted upon in every team selection. Nor would Arsene Wenger, or Alex Ferguson or anyone who enjoys a bit of autonomy in their professional life.

The fact is Madrid, with their ceaseless ambition, have made themselves almost unmanageable. The president has power, the players have power, the fans have power. But the manager is so far down the power grid he is almost emasculated. Look back over the history of football: no club has ever won a serious trophy being directed from the boardroom, even if the final is being played in their own backyard. The fact is, until the balance of working power shifts at Madrid, the firework sellers of Barcelona will remain cheerfully in business.

Cost of attending matches falls

A survey of nearly 4,000 football fans representing all 92 league clubs by Virgin Money found that the cost of attending games has fallen by 6.8 per cent in the past year. Lower ticket prices and reduced costs for replica kit meant that the average matchday cost has fallen to £89.09 compared with £95.60 in January 2009.

That is still 14.29 per cent higher than the matchday cost when the index was launched in January 2006 but is substantially lower than the all-time high of £106.21 in October 2008. Average match tickets across all leagues peaked at £27.38 in July 2009 but have now fallen to an average of £22.59.

After the special case of Manchester United, Wolves are most at risk from fans deserting them with 54 per cent saying they were considering cancelling their season tickets. Wolves had tried to pursue a prudent financial policy but this statistic shows that such an approach may have a downside.
Liverpool and Stoke fans were the most loyal with 9 per cent saying they were thinking of letting their season tickets go.

Milan neva stood a chance. . . . the team is carrying way too much excess luggage at the moment - players who will only play with the ball at their feet; no tracking back to defend, just strolling, staring and smiling. Its so annoying to see the great AC MILAN i'm so used being humbled ridiculously these days!

But i think the future is not all doom and gloom - the fact that finally younger guys are finally making into the 1st team is a good sign.
If milan can do away with a lot of these older fellas with the exception of Ambrosini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Inzaghi - keep the bulk of the youngsters; Huntelaar, Pato, Borriello, Abate, Anthinini, Thiago, Flamini & get in a couple of decent buys and more importantly, leave Leonardo on the job with more control over his team; i think we'll see a stronger AC Milan next season!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: The Galacticos (Real Madrid Fans Only) by RuuDie(m): 6:04am On Mar 11, 2010
Nice to see football played with so much intelligence, control & composure as Olympique Lyonnais did last night, if you love "football with brains"; you'd love that display!

They played to their script and the communication/understanding between technical crew and players was top notch - the lads did everything the manager wanted 'em right to the letter like he was on a game console controlling 'em.

Bottomline. . . you need more than just millions of pounds littered on the pitch to win crucial football matches!
