I hope MUTV will show the game...I'm watching 'em now. |
coogar: do you want me to print the results we copped at this stage last season? asian teams that won't make the conference league were beating us left, right & centre in the preseason games.Ok oh! Like someone pointed out, it isn't results at this stage of the season that gets a manager the sack! |
coogar: 3 hours to kick off....I would implore you to hold your horses...real action hasn't started yet! |
To simplify matters... a full-back, wing-back or whatever you wanna call 'em are all DEFENDERS or in our local parlance BACK-MEN! The difference being in they are more attack-minded or are primed to be so... In truth, these guys probably put in more work more than any other player on the field cuz they are practically covering the length of the park, defence to attack - Liechtensteiner of Juve comes to mind. I guess this means Ashley Young and Valencia are being converted to "full time defenders" now ![]() |
@ SeaGold. Damn dude. You nailed it... nice one! |
Absolutely ridiculous... How do you make a conversation without Q&As? How do you get to know about the person you are dealing without probing? |
I hate reading all this bullshyte... May we all be reminded that one of moyes' very statements as utd manager was east RvP would be his favored #9 and wazza, the backup. Something he was nearly lynched for which prompted the following "special treatment" - now they are spinning it as though the man always had it in mind from the onset to treat wazza like a sacred cow. |
afrodoc: passarella did not play in 86.....he was in the squad but didn't factor in the games.messi was probably with more "deadweight" than maradona was... |
Hold on... Maradona and 11 zombies!? Burruchaga, Pasarella, Pumpido, Tapia, Valdano, Ruggeri, Batista... Shuo. Una take am easy nah! |
Lets all be fair and send criticism to where it should... Messi knows himself and could have turned down the golden ball if possible - it clearly wasn't what he wanted or played for. |
coogar: i trust you.He was and never can be maradona but winning the wc just completes his cv and that's what we his supporters were looking out for...or is klose better than "the phenomenon"? |
coogar: suicide watch, perhaps.I gats more BA.lls than dat, man! |
chrisley024: Where's Ruddie?RuuDie. |
they call the Germans machines...and that's what they are; utterly predictable! |
ChristineC: Few give Argentina little chance because they actually have little chanceSay what!? |
I just love the way few are giving Argentina a chance... I hope this one is settled by a ridiculously, sublime piece of individual brilliance by LM10; that would be the coup d' gras I'd love to see! Team Argentina... Team Messi... Let's go make history!!! ![]() |

coogar: second mistake was not using tim krul as the wildcard today. his substitution would have rattled the argentines & he would have been beaming with confidence to stop at least one or two of the shots!Gotta laugh at this... ![]() That sh.y.te will work against Costa Rica, Honduras, Honolulu, Haiti and the likes... certainly not against the likes of Argentina, Germany - heck even Burkina Faso. I bet you after the first 2 PKs, even Krul would be in doubt of his own abilities!!! |
elampiro: Truth be said. It has been Messi show until today. He was average today or even below. It'sa been Messi and Di Maria's heat pushing them. Enyeama highly contributed to his world cup success. To me Enyeama was at fault for Di Maria's effort which led to Messi's first goal. He also was disappointing in handling the free kick Messi scored so easily.I disagree... it has been far from being a case of Messi playing out of his skin to get them through or bail 'em out. In fact, Messi has been quite "ordinary" and only comes up ocassionally to try the spectacular. For me, this is great news because it will only take a "team effort" to beat that German side and Argentine appear to have that with one extra...a midget magician waiting for the right moment to strike!!! |
What I love about the Argentina team is... it isn't a "Messi show" - it is way more of a team effort hinged on good defensive awareness; particularly in this semi-final game. |
Javier Mascherano...MOTM for me! |
RuuDie: This is Messi's World Cup!And I quote myself...! ![]() |
A40: If Brazil had won it would be inspite of Neymar and Silva now they lost they have suddenly become "non-existent" so Portugal and France were not real matches? Oo npeGhana, USA, Algeria, France... why aren't we "jeezing" all over the German performance against these teams!? |
Yeah, yeah, yeah... enough of the BS already! So they put 7 past an almost "non-existent opposition"...!!? Abegi, lets see 'em in "real" footie match before we talk them up into something they aren't! |
This is Messi's World Cup! ![]() |
dopeJemi: On a second thought, I think rooney should stay, he stuck with us even when the big names were leaving, so I think he should stayMaybe we should just recall Giggs, Scholes, O'shea, Silvestre and Wes Brown. |
I refuse to get carried away until the end of 2014/15 EPL season... fingers crossed! |
Would be the mother of all upsets if Germany do not win! |
montelik: ^^ Question is can Moyes get RVP firing with his longball, slow paced, rigid setup? Not to mention unimaginative tactics and approach in the final third. Finally, Moyes is no genius... there is more than enough substantial evidence of this, so no arguing. But we are stuck with him for now; and that is why I also insist, that our players do not cover themselves in glory either Simple basic things as drifting, swapping positions, showing to receive a pass, tracking opponents runs, et al... do they have to be spelled out to 'em like A, B, C... I mean take for instance Valencia's crosses - most often than not, it is a low ball played on the floor that usually doesn't beat the first defender - why doesn't Welbeck take a gamble at the near post!? Time and time again, they replay the same things over as though they have been programmed not to use their heads all of a sudden... and this are pro players, internationals! The manager is poor doesn't mean they cannot take matters into their hands and up the ante... or maybe they are "taking matters into their hands" by trying to get the manager sacked! |
Not to worry, it's a 2-legged tie. We can still make amends. Soon as we can get RvP back and firing, we'll be back to winning ways! |
Behind every "illiterate" billionaire, is a "literate" not-so-weathy individual! |
manny4life: Very pathetic.Because of her educational credentials, she got the job... and with the job, came all the security clearances. Would she have gotten the job if she hadn't furnished her interviewers with falsified certificates!!? |
