chamotex: Giggs is old but can still produce a moment of magic.Which has always been my argument for some certain players... |
Got the message... I can't even remember my username/password; talkless of what I even applied for sef. Kinda odd though - after a whole calendar year, they continue a recruitment process that should have been long concluded! |
Like seriously... the dude already lives in Lagos - seemingly rent-free too, I presume. Why do y'all make it sound like he is "homeless" or something!? Like someone said, "Think Tomorrow" ... its not enough to say Telecom vs Insurance - look at both companies individually against each other! |
The former Everton boss was already aware he would be without Marouane Fellaini following the midfielder's red card in San Sebastian. |
debosky: If RVP doesn't return to fitness soon, Rooney will continue to play even if he's worn out to the bone.Certainly... and it may turn out to be good afterall - Rooney wants to be top striker, #9 and Kagawa #10. A reasonable lay-out to RvP or Rooney, may well be the better and make selection relatively easier for the gaffer! |
coogar: he doesn't have the balls to do so.....The man doesn't have an easy job... pressure from everywhere - you and I both know how much the English value their "white pele" especially now with the WC in view. We do not need any more distractions, our season isn't very great so, that would not help at all. coogar: rooney should have made way on sunday instead of hernandez as cardiff began to take risks & were pouring forward.SMh. Bottom line is.... there is nothing Moyes will do that will please you; you will always find a flaw - oh well, what's more to say - its usually very easy in the world of an arm chair pundit! |
Actually, I think Moyes is just getting to the point where he wants to start "easing" Wazza out... Manchester United boss David Moyes has hinted that he will need to give Wayne Rooney a rest in the coming months. |
4llerbuntu: ur not really bright are you? smh.Well.... You don't strike me as someone who's bright either! |
nikkykay: And wot was the worth of all the players of that North London side that got spanked 8-2 in 2011 compared to all the players of the North London side that got spanked 6-0 in 2013??Did I just touch a raw nerve... awww, kpele! |
1 shortblackboy: Instead of arresting d banker, the doctors of the private hospital should have been arrested......nonsense!For what!!? its fairly normal practice... most hospitals won't take a patient that is beyond redemption; they reject you instanta... the only ones that do are the ones who want to chop money, even after knowing fully well that the patient is all but dead! |
chrisley024: Apples n oranges! We talking abt player u're calling jersey.Yeah, yeah, yeah... like we've never been whooped silly when Giggs is not playing abi... tow a different line abeg! |
chamotex: Shey make we give you the dough?Dude. I ready anytime... no shaking - 100 dolapo abi na iya charlie or europa - name your currency! |
coogar: this is my problem with arguments like this.Who gave the ball away for the goal? What side of the field was the foul that lead to the equalizer committed? Who lost his man at the key moment in the box? Who missed gilt edge chances to put the match to bed? Lack of drive you say - Giggs, Gary, Phil, Keane, Butt - at fifty have more passion, zip, verve and drive about them than half this bunch playing for us now. Why!? Because they were (are) UTD through and "true"! So don't even go there!!! My friend... this is where I have a problem with you - the fact that in a mere 20min spell, a forty-year old did what the whole lot could not muster in 70+ mins should be a slap on the faces of them all - even those on the bench sef! Yes, it was "one pass" kpere - but it was "one" that could have potentially swung the tie in our favor - whether you gree or not! If it was a Xavi, Ozil or Pirlo that made that play, you'd spe.rm all over your boxers for a week. For all I care, you can blame anybody you want but not Giggs... never Giggs! |
chrisley024: Dat's wat I was telling Ruddie but he was instead hailing his splitting pass He comes in with his bad luck. Anytime he comes in, we struggle. Its people like you that promoted that farce back in the day when we were kids that the Super Eagles don't win unless they wear their green strip! |
montelik: Donetsk 0 United 1Bullocks... he came in against Arsenal - why didn't they equalize!? |
Well...I remember a certain North London side that got spanked 8-2 one season like that and still ended up winning the 4th place trophy - so all hope is not lost! |
montelik: 12 games in and still look totally dire attacking wise. regardless of any supposed lack of quality or failure to bring in players during the summer. this team should look a lot better going forward. one has to wonder what Moyes and his backroom staff are doing in training, match prep and tactics wise. only positive is we look more threatening from corners.Very worrying indeed... but I still think we are cutting these players too much slack. They and not the manager need to step up their game. Take the Rooney / Welbeck chances for instance... bury one or both - game over - absolutely no pressure on the players that's why; yet no let-off for the manager, even when he gets it right. It is very easy to single out the manager and his tactics or choice of selection every player desires to be on the first team list come match day - you've been given that chance, show everyone you gotten it on merit! |
David Moyes: “I'm disappointed that we couldn't take the three points. We gave away a stupid free kick which led to the (second Cardiff) goal. But we also had a number of chances to put ourselves 3-1 up and we didn't do so, so in the end we've paid the price. That's two points dropped in this game and two points dropped in the Southampton game and that can be costly. We've got ourselves to blame."Like seriously... where did y'all get that "I'd take a 2-2 draw" crap from!!? |
chrisley024: DM has cost us more points. His lack of winning mentality makes him to alwaz play defensive whenever 1 goal up. He should know u win games by outscouring ur oponent.Abeg, abeg, abeg... DM cost us 3 pts by ball-watching when he could have been marking a man, or not picking up the runner and worst of all, choosing to pass when he could have poked the ball into a gaping goal!!? Formation/Selection aside, that UTD side is decent enough to beat Cardiff --- if they had taken the chances they had and (or) defended sensibly at the key moments --- DM is in no way culpable for those! |
coogar: i am kinda worried though that one pass in 20 mins is what you are praising. nani in the last 20 mins with cardiff pushing forward would have destroyed cardiff or pepper their goal with shots. You can look at in two ways - half-full / half-empty... we desperately needed that sort of brilliance at that specific point in the game , much more than any other time through the course of that game. Had Wazza tucked that away, c'est fini - EOD! coogar: giggs was poor but rooney cost us the 2 points. Now you're talking! |
montelik: Baines is guarantee January or the summer. I just hope we don't get molested on the fee like with Fellaini.Wouldn't be a bad buy if the price isn't "Fellain-ic".... at the very least, he crosses well and kicks a free-kick better than the best we have now, so its an added threat; another avenue for goals seeing that we're struggling for 'em now. |
chrisley024: Abeg d guy is bad luck.Same long ball that got us out of jail against West Ham in the Carling Cup last season... same long ball that could have given us all 3 points tonight --- love it or hate it; if that's all he knows how to do, he does it very well! |
chrisley024: N wat was he doing wen he's not with d ball? How many times did he give ball away? Splitting pass indeed.Did the goal come as a DIRECT result of Giggs failing in any of his duties!!? Was Giggs culpable in any way for the equalizer... abeg spare me! Yes, "defence splitting" it was... put that away and we wouldn't be having this argument now! |
coogar: giggs gave the ball away like no man's business. yes, he made one pass to rooney after 2-2 but that was in the 93rd minute. giggs came on in the 70th minute. so one pass in 20 mins is good enough? My guy. If it was Kagawa, Ando, Clev, Nani, Young or any of your favorites that played that ball... you'd have produced gifs of various angles of it even before the final whistle went. All of a sudden you are not making refeence to the pass! "A snail runs faster than Giggs" --- at forty, Giggsy is like Usain beside Ando, Young, Cleverly, Jones, Smalling, Kagawa, Carrick and Fellaini... heck, even young Zaha would struggle to keep up! Just look at that pass - this is why Giggs is "Special" and still in that team. When the chirps were down, he came up with a moment of brilliance (and don't you dare try to water it down that it wasn't a moment of sheer class from the old master) - all game long, nobody did or came close to doing that... more importantly, he did at a time we needed it badly. Saddening that it did not count because of one useless sc@llywag; otherwise wouldn't we all be here screaming "inspired sub"!? |
coogar: i don't even need to get into moyes and his daft substitutions. a match that is yet to be won & giggs was his weapon of choice - giggs managed to contribute nothing in the last 20 mins.Oga. Pack your face... Giggs contributed nothing --- I guess it was Cleverly+Nani rolled up in Ando's body that gave that delightful ball which our 250k-a-week, I-am-the-top-dog, I-wanna-be-main-striker ret@rdeen conspired to throw away!? In 70 odd mins, not one defence-splitting pass from that midfield, Giggsy comes on and when we needed some bit of creativity, he provides a pass that was just begging to be converted. Abegi, lay off the old man jare - at his age, he still players better than half the lot we have sitting on that bench there! |
In other issues... that So'ton goalie should be investigated for match-fixing. That was ludicrous, simply atrocious! |
elampiro: If it was not so unethical as you guys make it sound, why did he apolgise? Although he had already done the damage.Simple... because Ronaldo and (or) his PR people took offence. If they had laughed it off, do you think there would have been any apology!!? |
Since when did the personal preference of the FIFA president become law - is he Idi Amin? Blatter is 'allowed' to have a favorite and even publicly declare it... it is a right that even being FIFA Supremo doesn't take away from him and it in no way sways what the individual National team Skippers and Managers will do with their votes! |
At the end of the day, there is no ojoro there... all the skippers and coaches will cast their votes; and whether you like it or not they will each cast for who they individually LIKE. We can only take some little consolation from the knowledge that whoever gets on the final short-list, gets there on merit and that is recognition enough in my opinion! |
I don't really care... and reckon Messi shouldn't either. He should just keep himself fresh for the summer of 2014 and cement, once and for all, his legendary status by winning the big one... that would be the final crowning glory! |
Michael Carrick - one year contract extension till 2015. |
Petr says:On paper... this looks the way forward for UTD. |
