montelik: 06/07 was the last time we won the league playing mostly Scholes and Carrick. We didn't win the league last season mostly playing them and in fact blew a huge lead. 10/11 Scholes didn't play much, we played Carrick and Fletcher, then after his injury it was Carrick and Giggs for the most part. Scholes and Carrick as a starting duo is a recipe for 3rd or 4th.

RuuDie: It is SAF. . .so I won't be surprised to see a Carrick+Scholes combo! Can't blame him either, we've won the ligue mostly playing that pair!!

montelik: Assuming you are correct, that would mean a midfield of Valencia, Scholes, Carrick & Nani/Young. If we play Scholes and Carrick in the middle with wingers and RVP and Rooney upfront. It would take a miracle for to get a half decent/convincing result.
