StarBoard: The Barca game in question didn't see us in the height of our defensive powers. We're still saying the same thing. . .even in 2008, we spent all the time working out how to stop them from scoring. What if that Scholes shot had not gone in!? We'd have spent all that game defending 0-0, praying for PKs!!? I disagree. . .as the popular saying goes "attack is the best form of defence!" |
I have to hand it to you guys. . .yours is a very SPECIAL team! The control, the movement, the passing. . .absolutely impeccable and all this against a top opposition like Athletico Madrid. . .I couldn't help but marvel! And Don Iniesta. . .simply wow! *doffs hat* |
StarBoard: Im not sure i agree with you entirely(for once). With a prolific attack, the opposition spends three-quarters of their strategy time figuring out how to stop your team - that is your defence! Remember the 3-1 UCL final loss to Barca; I can vividly recall that we spent all the run-up weeks to the d-day working out how to stop them playing, while they were busy printing out their "Champions" tee-shirts. How we even managed to score one sef, I still wonder till today! Don't get me wrong, I'd also love a mean defence; but if it is going to come at the expense of this considerably menacing attack that we've managed to attain. . .No, No, No!!! |
Mourinho is just lucky Real isn't Roman's club. . . ![]() |
That Oscar-Mata-Hazard puzzle had long been figured out before the defeats that got RDM the axe! |
coded guy: The defence has majorly been the culprit don't know what is wrong with them. The truth is we can never really determine a season from the last one. We scored about 89 goals n conceded 33 came 2nd on goals diff, meaning if we had conceded less we coulda won the league, this is agreeing that a tally of 89 goals should be enough to win the league, but we may also score 100 goals more tha last season and concede 40 goals also more than last season and win the league.Lets look at it another way, the team with most wins usually gets to be top-dogs...right!? The team that scores more goals usually ends up winning the most games...or no!? A mean defense does not necessarily guarantee you a win, but it gives some form security knowing you're hard to beat! |
chamotex: So you think if VP didn't score other players won't score?Which striker... Welbeck!!? Nucca please, don't get me started! |
The greatest rapper ever...miss you BIG! |
debosky: For worst poster of the year?Whatever...! |
I remember having this long winding argument at the end of last season with a number of you guys about a striker being the utmost of our needs...and I think so far, money splashed on RvP is justified. We would never have lost the ligue, especially on goal difference with a prolific striker onboard. Yes, the midfield can be better, but there is no need to buy, we already have many players in that department...all in all, as long as we score goals, am more than content with the team! |
My nominee... StarBoard! |
Ando proving to all he really wants to play for united...fantastic drive and commitment; waiting for nani to show a bit more of the same. Rooney was shy.te all through. All in all, decent performance. |
pweetyface: Have been askd 2 b a̜̣̍ chiefbrides maid.....wat exactly is my duty dat day apart 4rm carryn her gown nd cleaning off her sweatsame here. . .i am at a complete loss especially since i have to go outside Lagos to partake in the whole ceremony! |
Usually driving to a place for the very first time can be very stressful and one is easily prone to defaulting traffic regulations or causing some form of inconvenience to other road users. . . So please tell, what steps do you take to ensure that your first-time trips to certain places are relatively trouble or embarrassment-free! Also feel free to share 'uncomfortable' experiences you have had driving to an area for the very first time! |
coogar: of course......giggs is your friendWhether you watch or not. . .it will not change the outcome of the game. We've won games played with these guys and we've also lost too, so no biggie! I am just disgusted that consummate professionals like Giggsy and Scholesy will be disrespected so just because of a few bad games and points in spite of the millions of memorable minutes they have put in for the cause over the last decade! Worst still, even when the pair show more passion, drive and determination than the useless bunch of mo'fos we claim to be "the way forward"! Cleverly, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Ando, Welbeck and Nani have copped more injuries and shy.te performances in their short career's than the "old men" have in all their years in UTD! I can stomach losing a game; heck even the title knowing we gambled playing the tested, trusted and proven "old men" rather than a bunch of useless, tarado, "phantom mavericks"! |
mbulela: One story from his time at Tottenham sums up the ability and the attitude. Jamie O'Hara, who is now at Wolves, remembers Berbatov being in possession, with his back to him, about 40 yards away. "I was yelling for the ball," O'Hara said. "Berba dropped his shoulder and, without looking, he played a pinpoint pass right to my feet. After training, he said to me: 'I know where you are. You don't have to shout.'" ![]() |
In the Gaffer I have complete, unalloyed trust, faith and belief --- anyhow he wants to play it, am behind him 100%!!! |
mike404: CELE bus stop is the most dangerous area in Lagos state... Do ya research well broNo be lie. . .walahi, if dem corner you ontop that bridge!!! |
Have you ever been a best-man or bridesmaid!? What role did you do for the couple before, during and the marriage? What challenges did you face? What did you enjoy the most, what did you hate the most. . .and would you do it again if presented the opportunity? |
honeric01: Won't that kill football? Not any more than the other guys have "killed" it! |
I don't have any remonstrations or complaints even though things are far from running 100% smoothly - but I made a wish at the start of the season and it has been granted, so am down for whatever! ![]() |
Oh. Another really very annoying one is, passengers sitting their butts in the car and analysing (more like critising) my driving! Especially when we're stuck in a rut - why not just go down, try to assist by being the 'extra' pair of eyes, assess the situation and navigate 'us' out of the logjam!? |
For me, three things! One. The music. . .passengers trying to flip, turn down or off my music. I play whatever I want and at whatever volume that pleases me (usually very loud); only my parents can make me turn it down or off! Two. The AC. . .don't even attempt to turn it on even if we're stuck in hell-fire. I mostly drive with my windows wound down because I love to hear the sounds of Eko, as much as I love to see; and also I'd have to turn down the volume of the music significantly if all the windows are up - else run the risk of going deaf. Here again only exception is the Ol' man and Lady! Three. Horseplay. . .tickling, nudging or trying to make 'playful' or otherwise contact or gestures in any way is strictly prohibited. It is not my portion to die in an auto crash! |
Amya: If they are no longer getting married, she'd lost 2-0. No virginity, no man.2-0 kpere' If you watch football, then you should know that this score-line can be over-turned quite easily. . .now if she loses 'her life' (I don't mean in the literal sense like death or fatal injury), this is loss that is IRREPARABLE! |
Seeing the topic, my initial thoughts were it is a reference to ladies who "pretend" to be married by wearing rings! |
The only thing I think FCB needs to inculcate in their near-perfect football philosophy is. . ."if you don't need to win, don't play like you need to win!" Especially when playing "park-the-bus opposition" they don't necessarily need to beat! Pass the ball around at the back, up to the half-way line and pass it back again. Play keep ball in your own half and maintain that status quo for as long as you can, if the opposition don't want to come out of their shells to compete, na dem sabi! |
Frostyzone: Just in case you weren't aware, America is only doing their civic duty as a permanent member of United Nation Security council. They have to spy on countries that are known for their secretive nature(North Korea, Syria and Iran) in other to ensure that Japanese and German Madness of world war 2 doesn't repeat itself.1 million + likes ![]() |
daroz: Mine is this...., a girl I was seriously toasting back in school then just unexpectedly called me to pls buy takeaway fried rice, chicken, salad and five alive juice and bring it straight to her hostel off camp within 30mins. So in other to imnpress her I had to quickly take Okada to d best eatery in town. I even bought her extra chicken and 2meatpile. But behold, when I got to her hostel I was surprised to see dat she was with a guy she immediately introduced as her boyfriend , and infact d guy was d one who actually need d food, cos he was sick and need to eat before he can take his medication. D painful thing about d incident was that they both were just Diplomal students, while I was already (proudly)in my 400level. In other to hide my anger and fustration and form big boy, I simply smiled, droped d food and last 1k with them, then left d place.Chai. . .see falling hand! Hope sey you SHINE dat CONGO wella oh ![]() |
bxg: Valencia is mediocre shdnt be our No 7Must be the reason why we keep playing the ball to the right-side of the pitch everytime we want to attack! |
The way I see it, Kagawa's best bet now is on either wing - more on the left than the right anyway. He is going to get the odd game down the middle but I think he should ready himself for the life of an "out-n-out winger" if he wants to stay long in OT! |
Okay, details please...I am so in! If the event neva fly me pass ![]() |
