Mombasa has arabic influence of course - otherwise if you're expecting to see Greece - sorry Vlain: |
Mombasa and Abuja are never going to be comparable https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BPHEbadPuY Vlain: |
Mombasa - Island - yes part of old town - old town built in days there were no cars - tiny roads like you find in historical cities - most buildings protected by gov - so cannot be redeveloped. I think you got issues with some old town streets? - old cbd has port, industries, officers Mombasa North coast - Nyali and beyond - residential and resorts Mombasa South coast - Diani and beyond - residential and resorts Mombasa Mainland - mostly industries and residential Vlain: |
Abuja has some world largest slum - and it's a new city. Waste of money. Kuruptnigga: |
Or try this - and tell me when Abuja gov offices will become a real city https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BPHEbadPuY |
Maybe you're blind: The video here is mere 2 minutes; Mombasa old town is 10th centuries old. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aD7CkVaB_Cw Vlain: |
Nope. Abuja is a joke - a waste of money really - just gov offices and pretty much that is it. Mombasa is many things - industrial base, port city and resort city https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvI0b5tIFFc Kuruptnigga: |
compare world class pristine mombas with Abuja : like how? World class beach resort https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj-KtLoL-Ug |
If you go to nearly every respectable hotel in east africa and part of central africa - and ask for the chief chef - it would be a Kenyan or graduate of Kenya Utali college. Outside the Swiss - premieur college for training chefs and hotels staff in Africa - is without doubt Kenya Utalii college. (utalli is kiwashili for tourist) Most of Kenya Utalii college graduates proceed to Switzerland for more training on world best training in their trade and are most sought hoteliers worldwide. It almost unheard of a graduate of Utalii tarmacking or looking for work...it so prestigious majority give up university education for diploma in hotel management or culinary skills. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TALspTaxzk |
If kenya was not further away from developed north - it would see millions in tourists. For now only those who are rich or have saved - can afford. Obviously Kenya and or maybe zanzibar-northern coast and northern TZ are some most beautiful countries - kenya sits on a confluence of sort - enjoying dramatic climatic zones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mbqCXpmo15A |
About 100km from Lush greenery of Kericho - you are into African savannah of Maasai Mara - where most of National Geogrpahic videos are shot. Kenya sit on gulf of dramatic climatic changes....and is the source of humanity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FForvEQevKI |
The Maasai mara is like 100km from my rural home - climate changes dramatically - from lush tea highlands- but Kenya is incredibly beautiful country https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8n5zWyeFag |
Currently considering settling down in Malindi - the little Italy in Kenya. Very high temperatures and some world best pristine beaches. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_aCFceDBUM |
Very funny when you compare Nigeria with one most beautiful nation on earth - kenya - where people spend a fortune to visit. Watch this lamu. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lth-ap8hx9Y Shaytun: |
I am not sure how Abuja can even be compared to Mombasa. Mombasa metro alone has more good hotels and lodges of quality than entire NIgeria. AskiaHarem: |
You think Mombasa has no roads or what - Abuja has long way to get to Mombasa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7XYND7oRw&t=267s AskiaHarem: |
Where in Nigeria looks like this - including even your Victoria Island in Lagos. Nyali Mombasa https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpzPaQd1uWo Abuja is not at Mombasa level - not by any imagination https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxw8ZC9pY6U 68816419: |
Abuja will not get Mombasa level this century. It more like kisumu or Nakuru or Eldoret. Landing in Kisumu - watch that for Abuja level - it should aim https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0lNM6gz07Q Kuruptnigga: |
The next paramilitary police is kenya is Kenya Administration Police - they provide security all over - to gov buildings, banks, private building if you hire, have border control unit, and rapid deployment unit. They are deployed along villages...kenya has prov administration of national gov...consisting of chiefs, dcs, dos and prov administration. Very rarely do KDF ever get deployed in Kenya - you can count with 5 fingers the number of their deployment in kenya since independence- West Gate was big screw up - otherwise Kenya military do not get see any kenya action - mostly UN Missions abroad. If there are riots or issues - APs and GSUs - are deployed - they are trained and organized like military but also on dealing withpolice roles- civilian, criminal law, and such - something many Africa countries - including poor South Africa need to develop - not deploying military to deal with internal issues without the training on civilian jobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B33qA28N6Hg&t=523s |
KDF are not deployed anywhere in Kenya now including North Eastern. KDF have training camps in parts of North Eastern. Before KDF are deployed - Kenya Parliament MUST APPROVE. Kenya is not Nigeria jungle. For internal security - Kenya has two major paramilitary wings (something Nigeria need) Kenya GSU - is major one - paramilitary police units - that are deployed everywhere including guarding the president. GSU are mostly trained by Israelis. As they get older - mid 30s - the GSU officers - are converted to regular police GSU recces squad - is one of the best - trained by Isrealis - and have choppers for quickly deployment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zrHeSZl9uBM GSU passport https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA-hXqJe_bY obaaderemi: |
Those who looted were arrested, court-martialed and dismissed. Kenya's military discipline is not something taken lightly. The biggest screw up by KDF was West Gate - they should NOT have been there - because this was POLICE JOB - and the stupid KDF chief made a fool of himself bringing tankers to the middle of Nairobi city- and come to the last terror attack - GSU paramilitary police dealt with it in few hours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFLBjRv1FRw Here is one of former KDF soldier - fired - trying to sue KDF https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beJStPkgYxk obaaderemi: |
To be honest, this thread has been an eye-opener. I was also under impression that Nigeria and West Africa education systems were the last men standing - I didn't realize the kind of brain drain that had gone on - and all the smart Nigerians I heard - had basically bailed out of Nigeria. Most Kenyans understand how obtuse Tanzanians can be - but they clearly haven't met the west Africans. Normally for TZ - it the English that is a barrier - but for these guys - it obviously lack of quality education that imparts critical thinking and sound reasoning. Saddamochieng00: |
You clearly don't understand Kenya. The last military deployed in Northern Kenya was in Shifta succession wars and a month or so in border with Uganda. Rarely have KDF been deployed in Kenya local operations. Kenya internal security has many police wings - General police - and they are paramilitary wings - that deal with internal issues. Police paramilitary have anti-stock theft unit (for dealing with cattler rustlers), anti terror squad, and other highly trained squad to deal with local issues and take suspect to court. There are police officers...not ARMY. They deal with all security threats internally including guarding the presidents, airports and pretty much anything. KDF is only for external threats. obaaderemi: |
Just madness kind of level; arguing for arguing sake. Kenya paramilitary police are more than enough to handle Nigeria army, Boko haram and Alshabaab combined. This Administration Police manning the border btw Kenya and Somalia. We do not need KDF for local operations. We have two paramilitary police units - Administration Police and General Service Unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNeH4A07qdI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCS4PSbcYsQ obaaderemi: |
You still haven't shown me a house for 25 dollars. Slum rent start at 5 dollars and max out at 10 dollars a month. Then you move to concrete slums - that start from 20 dollars to 50dollars. This is Nairobi. Travel distance is important . Nairobi metro obviously is peri-urban and transport to Nairobi is long - so you get more spacious houses - standalone - for 20-50 dollars. And in Nairobi/Nairobi metro - there is enough houses for anyone. This is not west africa - where you pay six months or 2yrs -or cannot even find those houses Just30: |
Precisely comparing day and night; Nigeria Militia is unable to defeat homegrown insurgency; that control large swatch of north east and has send 8M (size of Rwanda) Nigerians into refugee camps - being fed by the UN. NTSA: |
1st has no rental price. The 2nd is 100 dollars - 600 cedis. Please I know you got one of poorest education. Now once again - show me a house in GHANA's Accra. Not Ghana Metro for 25 dollars. Accra rental unit for 180-200 cedis - not 600 cedis in Greate Accra - for I can show you better houses in Nairobi Metro or even within Nairobi. House of 25-50 dollars. Just30: |
Madman - the best rebuttal is a video - of those houses for 25 dollars - otherwise your empty words count for nothing. Just go to youtube - show me rental house for 25-50 dollars - in Accra like I did for Nairobi Just30: |
EKo city is dead...just like Lagos real estate. There is already a glut and yet properties are too expensive. The economy is sick. Vlain: |
Still comparing apples with oranges. KDF are in Somalia - it's like Nigeria army having kicked BH all the way to Chad or Mali. Kenya police man internal security and are admittedly corrupt. As for KDF - they help run the incompetent gov of Somalia in Kismayu. You cannot compare KDF and Nigeria Milita. Defeat Boko Haram first. obaaderemi: |
