Sorry you dont have any - you have committment from FORD to invest 1B in South Africa. That is different from something on the ground. In the meantime prepare to repatraite 4B dollars to Nigerias for showing very bad movies in DSTV. Serves your right.
4.4B - I am going to assume they will negotiate the 400m discount - so you can build two waterfall gated communities for Boers with it.
Look like South Africa firms might have to relocate back home - Africa is tough place to invest - definitely any kenyan company planning to go to Nigeria should think thrice.
68816419: Let's assume that the 400 acres first phase gets completed in two years , how long would it takes to complete the 5000 acres of land ( infrastructures and buildings)?
I am as calm as cucumber ; always; now refute that total investment in waterfall is just 170M dollars; show me this 600m. I have no problem with that. In fact I expect South Africa to be doing waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above that. Like 10 or 60B dollars.
Egypt is your peer - and it building a 58B dollar city. Now that is something.
AfriqueDuZuid: That's portion of the buildings I showed you, there's more to what I showed
Please talk about Nigeria. You owe some patriotic duty to your nation. Even if it horrible - it stil you country. Let us the South African shackman defending Azania.
Vlain: Rvp look at this beauty under construction. Yet it hasn’t consumed half ur billion that replicated an artificial Dubai sand dunes along Mombasa highway
Nigerian diaspora kids - who are naive - and do not want to listen to their parents abroad - who have tried this before and swore never to go back to Nigera.
Foreign investor - unless they have NOT seen what Nigeria has done to MTN and DSTV - Only a fool will invest in Nigeria honestly.
Only FDI in nigeria is like DRC - minerals and such prime sector.
As for Kenya - we understudy the best and beat them in their game - right here in Kenya.
68816419: Nigga ,, all geniue investors are running to invest in Nigeria, reason why Nigeria FDI in "non oil" is larger than Kenya's FDI. also , do u even know that Nigeria holds the record when it comes to start-ups and tech in the whole Africa?. Mind you, all these tech startups in Nigeria (and even in Kenya ) are over 90% owned by Nigerians.
Nigeria start-up founders vs Kenya startups founders.
South Africa tragedy is really Latin America. There will be a lot of revolutions and chaos. The whites are doing what they did in America after being forced to integrate with blacks - they are running to suburbs and creating their own security walls - in gated communities - with token blacks. The US was luckly because it developed and can create the jobs for poor blacks - who are 10 percent anyway.
South Africa is chaos - Latin America with tribalism. That is the next decade for them.
Saddamochieng00: With all these gated projects coming up I foresee their private security force tripling in the coming years. Last time I checked there was way over half a mil private security personnel.
There's no hope left for our black brothers down there. With their growth stagnating the next generation ain't gonna be moving out of khayelitsha any time soon. The likes of Austin's will have to hold on to their grandma's shack cause they can't move back to the countryside (Boer owns all the farms)
Certainly not Nigerians. In phase 1 - of 150 plots -only 68 plots are still available - only 22 are under discuscion. The rest are already snapped. Obviously the companies are waiting for horizontal infrastructure before they move in. This tech city - the techies are introverted - they love such remote areas - see Silicon Valley.
Vlain: White elephant dead beat of a project.lol who will want to invest in that empty corrupt land grabbing scheme sitting in the middle of nowhere(a dessert).
Konza started with purchase of land; fencing and securing of the land; the getting masterplan; done the best architect in the world;
Phase 1 - which is 400 acres - is about 50% don in horizontal infrastructure - and will likely get finished this year or next.
Then plots will be given out - there is already 800M dollars in committment.
The building of all the 400 acres should take 2yrs max - the land will not be sold - so expect huge uptake and conditions will include of course quickly building it.
There a lot to show in Konza - there is nothing of that sort in South Africa. This next Silicon Valley or Bangalore. This not a gated community for scared boers as crime get out of hand. That only development happening in South Africa - the gentrification - as white moves to the suburbs - leaving blacks to the center - like happens in the US in 1960s/70s - as result of racial integration.
That is pretty much all the action in Sandton, Waterfall and other suburbs.
AfriqueDuZuid: Are you done posting Konza? Or you admit there's nothing to show?
Why are the foreigners choosing Kenya - not Nigeria. Maybe the real threat of kidnapping? or crazy tax demands. Kenya will continue to lay the red carpet on such individuals - who come with their brains and connections - to create African silicon savannah. In fact if there was anything we should do - considering our very high HCI and quality of education - is to bring boatloads of those white intelligent men.
68816419: Even all those tech firms they are boasting about and not even owned by Kenyans., These guys are nothing .
That is actually the plan. We can use our money elsewhere.
obaaderemi: Lol@ Kancer city. They can't build anything. That kancer city will only begin to really get built when foreigners take part in its construction.
Ohoo please - you took what 30yrs to build Abuja! And still has some of biggest slums - and looks crap.
68816419: This guys can't build shiit, Imagine Kenyans trying to replicate Abuja in Kenya?, That would be disastrous , even countries like Senegal and ivory coast already built new cities while that dead "kancer" still at it's start-up state and will never come to limelight. Senegal new city
AfriqueDuZuid: Show me pictures of what 1billion dollars look like in kenya
Cos $0.2 builds roads, sewege, broadband lines, electricity, hotels, schools, hospitals, apartments/residential areas, offices, leasure, golf courses in south Africa
Konza is another level; 1st Phase alone - is 6B dollars!
The total investment on the first phase of Konza City is estimated at more than $5.9bn, of which the government will invest about 10%, in the development of water and power infrastructure.
Gov is just about done doing their 10 percent - which about 0.6B dollars on horizontal infrastructure.
The glass facades will start soon - maybe 2022 or 2023 - once gov is done with laying the horizontal infrastructure.
2.4B rand is 0.17B dollars - that is a joke. Two river mall itself was built with 260M dollars. Then there many buildings completed or under construction.
So the two rivers already dwarf your tiny Watefall city. Maybe you can impress west african with your little city
2.4B RAND - is less than what Two RIvers have invested. Your country should be with Egypt out there doing really big stuff. But look at you - youre banding together with west africa - for misery love company
Egypt has we speak has overtaken you forever - and are building billion dollars worth of project.
Please shut up - and join west africans in their misery
AfriqueDuZuid: Waterfall city has laid out fiber, roads, electricity, sewage system and has already build buildings, office, recidential, leasure facilities etc for $0.2
And Konza only can show what seems to be a sewage system and a building that was made with funfair with the president inspecting it for $1billion?
Are building material that expensive in Kenya?
Or was that building you showed worth all that money?
