This is too much for the Tanzanian - man from a communist state - that together with Nigeria and DRC - are dragging down Africa in every index imaginable. You know TZ gov because it tries to compete with Kenya - ordered the building of skyscrappers few years ago (now they have ordered for Boeing Dream-liners - and now the gov built skyscrapers are half-empty while the dreamliners fly with six customers typically - and there is office glut in Dar Slums - because of small private sector. Get out of the gov sky-scrappers built by their gov last decade - and Dar is a sea of slums. You know the country is about size of Nigeria - and outside Dar there is nothing. Their capital city Dodoma is a market center. Go to Tanzania rural place - you'll see a sea of poverty - poor peasant who don't even own the land - leasing gov land to grow maize and beans. Try their failed education system - despite English being taught for 12yrs - they cannot speak it. Ghana is a very progressive nation that is nearly becoming a proper middle class. vaxx2: Don't let one or two achievement of your goverment in that sector fool you? There is equally such development in Ghana. per good road quality, Tz don't even have it better than Mali ( A war zone in west africa ) kenya had done well in this regards, you cant compare Ghana social quality system to your country. the kind of similar houses live by Ghanaian in Ghana are mostly occupied by forienger in TZ. better houses and bigger recreation fercility are all over Ghana ( Accra to be precise , so I don't get your false comparism) here. Ghana airport is one of the best four in africa and the leading in west africa , our harbour system is better efficient than many nation in africa as well. Gh put its money where it is needed .
cosmetic development isn't anything to be proud of , it is just purposely for prestige. what make a nation quality in development is the kind of human intellect and well being of the citizens. how many Tz citizens can afford to go study abroad ? how many of Tz citizens has millions of dollar worth investment? how many of TZ citizens even have estate on rentage abroad. what is collective income of the amount of cash remitted back to TZ form TZ citizens working abroad? Development are judged by the living standard of the populace not on cosmetic project
It is common to see western country requesting for Ghana manpower . this is reflection of quality. Germany of recent request for Ghana nurses and likewise many Caribbean nation. Ghana will be supplying Sierra Leone and Liberia some individual to propel their education sector .....
What is the essence of having flashy building without quality citizens. such is even the case of south Africa. and to correct you, bigger country has better chance of urbanizing than smaller nation. Ghana isn't small anyway, it is around 30 million and that is a half of the Tz. despite Nigeria population it is more urbanized than Ghana and TZ Combine . |

Here is your 2018 federal budget for 20 roads - mere 40M dollars. I think you should ask the UN, IMF and WB to put you in the donor list for being too poor - otherwise the way I see - you'll continue to export all kind of evils to all countries. There should be a conference on NIGERIA soon. samorobo: This funny we don't need you to celebrate for us we can do that our selves..it's just a shame that we don't see the impact of your budget. |

You're business unfriendly and hostile to kenya - but we don't mind the laggards coming to sell their stuff or tour Kenya. New Uganda Airline flies to Nairobi and now Mombasa.Rwanda Air does the same - they fly to Nairobi & Mombasa. Honestly we are done with Tanzania - we are looking to depend our relationship with Ethiopia, Congo and beyond our immediate neighbors - and start focusing on Africa. Kazikazi: I said in point 4,Tanzania does business with Kenya than any neighboring nation.Thats why more goes to Kenya than those going to Uganda.Business promotes tourism.
The wings of Kilimanjaro plans to start nairbi route in mid 2020.They are waiting for delivery of more planes. They will use airbus for 220-300 for Nairobi route.Later on they will fly to Lagos,Accra, kinshasa, and Lubumbashi in Congo. |

Nigeria Federal Road budget...2018...read and weep Entire federal budget for Infrastructure is around Naira 550B (roads, housing ,etc) -a mere 1.5B dollars!!!! - with entire federal road budget at less than 1B dollars. 20 roads to be constructed at around 40M dollars . That is what we spend tiny roads . Some roads in Kenya go as high as 700M dollar for like 30-40kms. https://www.thecable.ng/2018-budget-20-new-road-construction-projects-will-gulp-n13-4bn |

Road Infrastructure...
1) Nigeria road infrastructure. I checked their FERMA - Federal Road Agency - budget and I nearly 'cried'.
Of Nigeria’s 195,000 kilometres of roads, says the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission, 135,000 km are un-tarred; 32,000 km of the total are federal roads; 31,000km are owned by the state governments and the rest by the local governments. The World Bank says only about 30,000 km of all roads in Nigeria are actually paved.
2) South Africa South Africa, our continental rival, has 750,014 km of roads, the 10th largest globally, with 158,124 km paved.
3) Kenya
She has about 20,000 kms of road paved.Road transport is the predominant mode of transport and carries about 93% of all cargo and passenger traffic in the country. Kenya's road network has been established to be 160,886 km long. About 61,936 km of these roads are classified while the remaining 98,950 km are not classified.
Note: Only 1/3 of kenya is densely populated - with 2/3 semi-arid wasteland or forests or animal reserves. |

Exhibit 1 of Nigeria lethargy - Road just 120kms long has been re-construction since 2013.
Reconstruction of Ibandan-Lagos Expressway. The reconstruction of the expressway was flagged off on July 2013 by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to help reduce the travel time of hundreds of thousands of commuters and international air passengers. The contract was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria and Reynolds Construction Company Limited at a sum of 167 billion Naira, equivalent to $838,986,290.[7] Two sections of the expressway will be reconstructed and this includes Section I (Lagos to Sagamu Interchange) and section II (Sagamu Interchange to Ibadan) |

Mechanizing Agriculture will help us to feed ourselves and export the surplus to other countries. A Ghana beyond Aid will be achieved and generations yet to be born will rise and call us blessed. 68816419: Nigeria is on steroid, Roads,Rails,AIRPORTS, SEA PORTS ,Factories,Industrie,Stadiums,Agro industries Kano-Maiduguri highway dualization Sections affected by the dispensation include Section Two: Dutse-Kwanar Huguma in Kano State (142 kilometres); Section Three: Azare-Potiskum in Yobe State (106.341 kilometres); Section Four projects: Damaturu to Maiduguri (145.109 kilometres); while Section Five corridors are along the Potiskum – Damaturu axis with 102.075 kilometres. The projects are being executed by a consortium of contractors comprising the Chinese firm CCECC Nigeria Limited, Mothercat Nigeria Ltd, Setraco Nigeria Ltd and CGC Nigeria Ltd, each of which is working on designated sections and have attained significant levels of progress.
Among the factors credited for the success of the project was the Sukuk Bond, which was recently introduced in Nigeria as an alternative funding option for addressing the country’s infrastructure deficit estimated at over $13 trillion. Sukuk is an Islamic funding option for projects of any kind, as long as such do not violate the tenets of Sharia. It became imperative for the Nigerian government to adopt, following the need to bridge the massive infrastructure gap, in the light of dwindling oil revenues in recent times. With the endorsement of the scheme by Mohamed Rufai with reference to the Kano Maiduguri Road, the Sukuk scheme could not have enjoyed better commendation. Some countries will cry..lol.. Nigeria never complete anything...ibandan-lagos expressway has taken 30yrs and is not complete..SGR btw Lagos $ Ibandan is going into 10yrs... bottom line it all comes down to budget.Just show me your development budget and it easy to judge which country is getting stuff done.It all comes down to money in gov coffers...all the big tickets stuff are international contracts that cost about the same in Ghana or Nigeria or Kenya. |

According to the Federal Government, the passenger traffic on the Abuja-Kaduna rail service has risen to 3,700 daily from its carrying capacity of 1,000 people. Understand the difference btw Abuja light rail and Abuja-Kaduna.The first one carry 400 passengers daily. For comparison Nairobi light rail carries 15-30k daily while Nairobi-MSA carries 7k daily. |

68816419: All Nigeria In't Airports are currently undergoing massive reconstructions 1-PH Int Airport 2.Abuja Int Airport (Connected with a Light Rail) and it has
a) 15 million-passenger capacity
b) Total area of 56,000 sq m
c) 72 check-in counters
d) 28 immigration desks at arrival, and 16 at departure.
e) 8 security screening points
f) 8 passenger jet bridges
g) walk-way links to both the airport metro station and the domestic terminal. 3.Lagos Int Airport (To be connected with a light rail) 4.Kano Int Airport Here is the problem buddy, this is wasted investment, without running water and electricity, and with passenger numbers dropping. Gradiose projects are good once you've fixed the basics. As we speak JKIA does more passenger and airplane traffic than Lagos. Why build a 15m passenger capacity in a cattle kraal Abuja struggling to get 4m passenger and with near zero cargo.JkIA handles close 8m passengers and tonnes of cargo...Joburg does 21m..and they are not breaking the bank.Your metro line to Abuja carry 400 passengers l.Wasting petrodollars since 1960.Build something based on realistic projections.Busiest airports in Africa now..Joburg,Cairo,Bole (Ethiopia), Nairobi and Capetown.Top sea ports..South Africa Durban, Egypt (Port Said, etc), Morocco (Tanger med) and Mombasa in Kenya.Nigeria is nowhere to be seen despite fake GDP and 200m folks. |
