Kenya has for a long time been just doing peace keeping and Nairobi has been center where rebels meet to resolve their problems - but now increasingly KDF are now ENFORCING peace.

Maj Gen Nyaga led Somali peace enforcement and now is in DRC. The people of DRC - another zoo like Nigeria - couldnt be happier.

Meanwhile Ethiopia who has military pact with kenya - have trusted Nairobi to be referee in their dispute - while DRC has also accepted Nairobi to resolve their issues - just like Somalia.

South Sudan were so grateful - they used Kenya flag as their country flag when they got independence

Outcome -> Lean, professional, well trained, well armed force of just 25,000 troops. To hear that KDF soldier has beaten someone or engage in bar brawl smiley - that is very rare - something very common in Nigeria. KDF are professional well paid soldiers.

I agree. One is typical africa bush rebel militia unable to deal with internal threat. The other is international reputable force that has restored peace in countries in almost all continents - and now restoring peace in Somalia and DRC.

You should see how DRC force and people are so excited.

Before you burst your spleen with bitterness - update yourself with what KDF has been doing this week smiley

Facts speak for themselves.
Get me breakdown of your military spending. Compare it with Kenya. Compare the number of forces.
Heck fore you jack the spending in 2021....you were at some point at 1.5B dollars..compared to kenya 1.2B.
And you'll understand why Boko Haram has send at least 8 million of Nigeria - that size of many countries - to IDP camps to be fed by the UN.

This my friends is very shameful. You should be spending at least 2 percent of your GDP on military.

Nigeria Military Spending/Defense Budget - Historical Data
Year Billions of US $ % of GDP
2020 $2.57B 0.63%
2019 $1.86B 0.46%
2018 $2.04B 0.51%
2017 $1.62B 0.43%
2016 $1.72B 0.43%
2015 $2.07B 0.42%
2014 $2.36B 0.41%
2013 $2.42B 0.47%

It's the audacity for me. If this were to be South Africans or Algerians claiming this, then I would have little to say, but Kenya? my god.

I see you've done a big raise ->Nigeria raised its military spending by 56 per cent in 2021, to reach $4.5 billion. I hope you financed it.

Previously -> According to the World Bank, in 2016, Nigeria approved a defence budget of $1.72 billion. The budget for the following year was $1.62 billion ...

Which compare to kenya for 1.2B.

That is some progress. You need to spend at least 15B dollars to match kenya. Frankly how do you manage to pay salaries for 360K soldiers with such budget. Kenya has 25K force on 1.2B dollars. That mean Nigeria need 15B dollars to match the spend per soldier.

You should compare yourself first with Boko haram and such folks who have displaced million of Nigeria.
Millions of Nigeria being fed and housed by UN.
There is no kenya in IDP camp because of insecurity.

KDF is helping restore peace worldwide - just now fixing DRC after stabilzing Somalia and participated in UN peace keeping more than any africa country

IGpro1:
Nigeria has a cumulative budget bigger than all subsahara African country and 3rd biggest in Africa, just behind Egypt and Algeria. At $5billion while Kenya is just $1.8billion.

Nigerian army just won Africa's best land forces 2022.

It's phoney - Alok Gupta of African Industry Group talked about 600M investment.

“If that is the case, how is $1.5bn related to the original figure of investment estimate of $600m published in January of the same year. Who is fooling who? Let the Federal government embark on due diligence and work with the Kaduna State government in getting the correct data of work-plans of African Industries Group in order not to be misled or misguided in its action plans and policies.”

Now you're about to understand.
Billets are mostly imported from China, India and even South Africa.
Though most prefer to smelt scrap metal.
Production of billets from iron ore - has not happened in Nigeria - that is why 3.3B dollars is used to import them - 1 billion in kenya
The Ajakeuota steel mill was suppose to do that - it rusted to the ground.
68816419:
The new $1.5bn Kaduna steel plant ( 90% completed ) .
The largest steel plant in Africa and first liquid steel plant in Africa will soon be completed
1.5 million metric tonnes of steel annually from the abundant supply of iron ore; not too far off. Over 3,000 would be employed at the mines and factory

Zoogerian understand subject matter first.

https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/08/nigeria-spends-3-3bn-importing-metals-annually-adegbite/

The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc Olamilekan Adegbite, Monday, disclosed that Nigeria spends $3.3 billion importing metals annually.

Adegbite who represented by his Senior Special Assistant (Technical), Olu Adedayo, made this known during the official handing over ceremony of the steel plant assets owned by Standard Metallurgical Company, SMC, Sagamu, Ogun State, to KAM Steel Integrated Company, a subsidiary of KAM Holding which acquired it at N60 billion.

According to him, Nigeria has over 30 steel manufacturers with a production capacity of 2.2 million tonnes per annum, which they source and us basically scraps and billets mainly imported from China.

He said:“Nigeria has over 30 steel manufacturers but can only produce 2.2 million tonnes per annum using scraps and billets imported mainly from China.

68816419:
Madman grin grin grin grin grin grin, all over Nigeria, steel billets are produced by businesses that have been doing so ever since Kenya was founded. By the way, imported steel products are currently illegal in Nigeria.

Kenya become only SSA country outside South Africa to manufacture steel billets from iron ore as Ruto launch Devki Steel near Mombasa. The factory has been connected to Kenya Railways MGR network for last mile delivery of steel billets to steel factories.

The Iron ore processing, manufacturing and transportation of steel billets at Devki Steel Mills in Kwale County will contribute greatly to development and is major step in heavy manufacturing.

Kenya's iron and steel importation bill was 120 billion shillings last year - a billion dollars.

The contrast is very clear - Uganda with 1/3 kenya budget have 100,000 plus troops poorly paid, poorly equipped, without any welfare or life insurance - while kenya maintained a modern well disciplined and professional army - where all officers must attain military science degree - where promotion is per merit.

Some of the african troops are paid in beans and maize ration. Majority end up overthrowing civilian gov

You can bet KDF soldier on average earn 5-10 times Ugandan of similar rank.

Here is typical Africa force - Uganda UPDF - planning to join Kenyans in DRC - you can see from their wear just how badly prepared for war. This why Africa have long way to go - Nigeria, Ethiopia and name them - maintain such large poorly paid poorly armed armies.

UPDF troops in final touches to deploy in the DRC under the East African Community Regional Force. The force is currently undergoing final mentoring before they are inserted into Eastern DRC to join their Kenyan counterparts already in Goma.

You can see KQ cargo services...KQ and many others have cargo centers...where they receive mostly flowers and vegies...and ship them to Europe. For a plane that can carry 100 tonnes.. one tonne car is nothing.

PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:59pm On Nov 17, 2022
That is what Ghana and west african do - they go to china and dubai - and they bring in tonnes as luggages - including begging other passengers.

KQ already knew this - so they charge the air ticket expensively and allow cargo - and they fly longer passenger jets. West african traders love KQ because of it - they can bring shitload of clothes from china as luggage.

Now kenya there are Cargo FLIGHTS - they dont carry any passengers.

For example daily there are cargo flight that fly to Somali to deliver a drug - called Miraa or Khat - this weed like plant - no passenger - just weed - because it has to be delivered fresh. From the farm this hallucinating plant is driven at high speed to airport - and lifted to somalia - and they get their supply - 30yrs later they dont even know they dont have gov - they are forever drunk and hallucinating.

Nairobi lead in Africa cargo because there are dedicated cargo flights - these dont have any chairs - they lift 100 tonnes mostly flowers and vegetables that need to arrive fresh- if they get return cargo - like a car - they are happy.

Just40:
what your vegetables farmers do is... They go to the aline to find out the unused space that the airline will be flying out with and asked for it... Which is given out cheaply.

The cost of shipping just an A4 sheet letter is 30 to 40 dollars...

You're just there typing nonsense with no idea os what prevail..
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:51pm On Nov 17, 2022
The additional space is likely to address the current cost of freight charges that range from $4.5-5.3 per kilo
So if you bring in a telsa of 1 tonnes - you're looking at 5,000 usd - same day delivery
Drive your car to the airport - get it wrapped - and lifted into cargo flight - and within a few hours it's in accra airport.

This happens a lot in nairobi.

Freighters normally carry about 100 tonnes, with economies of scale making it viable for long haul cargo business.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:47pm On Nov 17, 2022
Maybe when Ghana Airways was flying.
Average car 1.5-2 tonnes.
KQ or any airline cargo transport upto 50 tonnes per jet.
They dont care what you have.
It could be banans or flowers or your car.
Charges are standard.
If they charged 40K usd - how would kenya vegetables get to Europe.
KQ and many airlines have cargo flight - and people fly cars using them for same day delivery.
In Kenya I have seen many cars flown direct from Europe using the plane.
Last I checked it was about 10K usd or even less - same day delivery

You're just a mad cow.

Just40:
you're just and irredeemable fool

Now you've jumped to air freight?

I guess you think Jet fuel also fall from the sky er?

Car air freight from Europe to Africa cost nothing less than 40,000 dollars, it can go as high as 100,000 dollars depending on the country
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:39pm On Nov 17, 2022
slowpoke that is why cars are imported as CDK
Beforward - I have used it - try it
They demolish 10 cars into a container and you pay 1,000 usd
RORO would charge you 1k usd per car - you save 10k

container is just 1k - roro is 1k usd. Youre slowpoke that keep KQ in business because you transport clothes and stuff using aeroplanes from china. west african bonobos.

Container you can actually do 30 times RORO because cars are weightless...you just need to be organized in consolidating cargo if you're smes

Just40:
you can't afford shared container where you share the cost with the other users and you think you can afford your own container where all the cost is bore by you alone?

An own container is the most expensive when it come to shipping cars
Shared container is cheaper but not as cheap as

PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:30pm On Nov 17, 2022

obaaderemi:
RORO is far cheaper.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:25pm On Nov 17, 2022
Shared container is problematic because all of you need to clear; this mostly for small business importing stuff in small quantities; if you can afford your own container it cheaper; I have done trucking business slowpoke; i have helped import and export stuff;

Container is for anything eveything...RORO is expensive slowpoke because you cannot stack them. Container can be stack up many levels and that is why they cheap.

And mad cow what is inside container nobody cares

Just40:
you can ship a car by ro ro for 2,300 dollars... Shipping it in a container, you'll have to pay close to 9,000.

This is why all cars are shipped by ro ro.

Containers where made for prepackaged goods ... No one will ship rice, sugar, wheat, soybean, maize and etc in containers
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 11:11pm On Nov 17, 2022
RORO Is more expensive. Containers were created to make shipping easy and very cheap. You can fit upto 10 cars in one container and pay 1,000 usd. Shipping worldwide is very very cheap. It just take at least a month.
Just40:
You're a fool if you think cars are shipped in containers when 99% of cars are shipped in ro ro.

No one will ship a container for less than 4,000 dollars today to anywhere even in the Mediterranean from China ...

I know this because I've seen shipping records from some of the largest ship management and chartering companies like Denaus shipping in Greece and BSM of Germany.

The why are they selling at 42,000 when Asian is selling at 8,000
You cannot claim dumping.
Nobody grow rice to feed someone else.

There is productivity problem that makes our rice less competitive.

And that is what need addressing. If it fertilizers or gmos or name it do it.

If you must - take Nigerian farmers for field trips - study what Asians are doing

Dont be lazy and block the borders - and say we are eating our expensive rice.

China tried those stunts in 1950s and they died in famines.

GeneralDae:
But they are producing more. Read again, even our finance minister who is always realistic in her speeches (perceived to be negative), openly said we produce most of our food.

Nigeria’s small farms produce 80 percent of the total food. This is the leading African country in farming because it has the highest levels of productivity and profitability in this particular sector. However, agriculture may remain affected by conflicts and climate and weather events; and the non-oil-non-agriculture will likely continue to struggle in the face of sluggish demand and constrained private sector credit growth.

it normaly 5 times less.

Just return the container back dumbass.

Sea-freight is the cheapest shipping method. A 20ft container is a comparatively small container and shipping with it will cost you less. A 20ft container occupies less space and weigh less than a 40ft container. The cost of shipping a 20ft container ranges from $500-$2000.
