When you buy something for a dollar.
You're buying it's liabilities.
1 dollar is just because it has to be sold for something.
Otherwise you're buying debts, unpaid suppliers, unpaid employees, expired licenses

This is not something to be proud of.

Mad cow.
NCA is a regulator.
In kenya we have it CA.
It not owner of spectrum.
Spectrum is owned by Ghana public and the regulator sells/leases/license/manage it.

Every country has their own CA - the regulator.

The problem with these west african double track education bonobos.

How DENSE can you be?

Just40:
yes we did for just 1 dollar.. yes it's operating with 10 million subscribers. Every Telkom In Ghana is own by NCA even without portfolio holding ... The operators are just managers of the spectrum which they lease.

That is the kind of smart contracts that the govt of Ghana sell

You're not smart... There's a difference between VRA and VRA group.
VRA is never made a loss but the group holding for 5 years. The group holding has several obligation to bring various energy assets under it umbrella.

VRA has the ability to hold payment when obligations are not met.. Revenue flows in it fuel business alone is worth 2 billion dollars.. VRA just paid 750 million dollars to Ghana gas for fuel supplied and paid NNPC of Nigeria for it gas after both companies settled their obligations to each other.

VRA has gone on to reduce gas demand from Nigeria to just 50scfd because Ghana Gas Sankofa gas field has come onstream. An 8 billion dollars investment from GNPC to develop with VRA as a priority offtaker... grin grin

These monies are too large for any Kenyan company to fantom
You don't make any sense at all.VRA has made six years of losses, can't pay for gas without waking sleepy Buhari and has indebted & now sunk your economy twice in a decade..in 2015 and now..that thing is not only worthless...it a strain. If you to IPO.. nobody sane will buy..even if you value it at dollar...it going to do right issues immediately or capital call of billions .It's not even worth a cedi.. single cedi..it's negative

Fortunately, VRA is properly run like a private company and has borrowed on it balance sheet to own several assets. Which has made it a very large company by valuation.
Because it is properly runned, we opted not to list it in the stock market for now until we urgently need money.
Now the story has changed.Facts are stubborn.Quick google fact checking mad man is enough to know VRA has had six years of losses...can't even pay Nigeria for gas without waking sleepy Buhari to fly to Ghana and demand payment..not only making financial losses, indebting Ghanaian and now causing diplomatic rows. You can't compare to kengen flying Kenya flag high as it wins geothermal contracts abroad

If we decide to list VRA, GNPC, EXPLORCO, Ghana Gas and Gridco alone on the Ghana stock exchange... They will easily drive the stock exchange to be 120 billion dollars worth.

We have shelved those decisions because those companies are already managed like private companies and are able to borrow on their own balance sheet while govt just becomes a guarantor.

Out of Ghana 54 billion debt, these companies own 34 billion of it on their balance sheet.
In actual sense, Ghana govt real debt is just 20 billion dollars.

VRA has made profit every year since it inception... The VRA which has several companies under it mandate made loses for 5 years of power crisis in Ghana ending 2018 because of it investment mandate in several gas projects in order to switch from HFO to gas which brought their valuation to 24 billion dollars in 2020 and currently at 30 billion dollars in 2022 after acquiring more.

Go to bed... Nothing in Kenya is as valuable as GNPC or VRA or Ghana Gas ..
These are the companies that have been repaying all of Ghana debt since 2010. And they've chopped a greater portion of Ghana debt. grin grin
VRA has made losses in six years...that stubborn fact and just made little profit last year.Nobody will want such piece of crap however it's potential.Secondly why is your gov borrowing money for you SOEs.No wonder you're ever bankrupted. In Kenya SOEs borrow and pay for their debt...gov is just the guarantor sometimes..and rarely step in
VRA if it was profitable and we'll run would borrow their own money and repay but because it's worthless poorly run it's saddled your gov with debt.I was wondering what mad man was ranting about borrowing for profitable venture...in Kenya we borrow to build roads or such...not to invest in SoEs.SoEs borrow their own money from commercial banks. If kengen want to build a power plant they go to say Japan and borrow if they can't meet all the money...Kenya gov is not even aware that it will borrow when or how... those details.. unless it starts to struggle

How can a sane human being compare a company like Safaricom to NNPC, a company with assets in oil and gas? NNPC is worth more than $50bn, probably more than $100bn if you factor in its oil and gas reserves. One of the best things Buhari did was to make NNPC a private company.
Its declared profit last year is higher than Safaricom's . It's madness to compare the two. I wonder how we've put up with a lunatic like you for years. Raving madman.

There was drought in Europe this summer and people suffered. Farmers, fires, heat waves, name it.

During the summer of 2022, parts of Europe experienced drought conditions exacerbated by heat waves.[1] On 9 August, a senior European Commission researcher said it seems to be Europe's worst year in 500 years.[2] A report from the Global Drought Observatory has confirmed this.[3] The drought had serious consequences for hydropower generation and the cooling systems of nuclear power plants, as the drought reduced the amount of river water available for cooling.[4][5] Agriculture in Europe was also negatively affected by the drought.[6]

Drought is a natural disaster like Earthquake or Flooding.
You can build a dam - but it dries out if rains fails for 4yrs.
The water simply evaporate out. Those in lakes become salty.
You need to understand the complexity of these things.
Kenya is not looking for excuses.
We have grown our economy despite all that.
We have africa largest non-mineral economy - and large agricluture - despite all that.

Focus this misplaced anger on Ghana....blessed with gold...only country named GOLD COAST.

Most of kenya lakes along the rift valley including Lake Turkana there has salty or brackish water. Not drinkable by humans. Without expensive desalination. This is not Lake Volta. That is world largest alkaline lake. Some like Magadi is full of Soda Ash. The rest too salty except for Flamingos.

Salty water dont just exist in the sea - they exist in some of these inland lakes without outlets.

What is k-nyansh also doing with this water body in the heart of your so called arid land?
