I wonder what’s wrong with the white color, that even white Gsds are not considered Gsds To be honest I find all the colors AKC disregard as faults (liver colored, blue e.t.c) fanimorous/attractive |
8. Woolly Mammoth The Woolly Mammothis a species of mammoth that lived during the Pleistocene until its extinction in the Holocene epoch. It was one of the last in a line of mammoth species, beginning with Mammuthus subplanifrons in the early Pliocene. The woolly mammoth began to diverge from the steppe mammoth about 800,000 years ago in East Asia. Its closest extant relative is the Asian elephant. DNA studies show that the Columbian mammoth was a hybrid between woolly mammoths and another lineage descended from steppe mammoths. The appearance and behaviour of this species are among the best studied of any prehistoric animal because of the discovery of frozen carcasses in Siberia and Alaska, as well as skeletons, teeth, stomach contents, dung, and depiction from life in prehistoric cave paintings. Mammoth remains had long been known in Asia before they became known to Europeans in the 17th century. The origin of these remains was long a matter of debate, and often explained as being remains of legendary creatures. The mammoth was identified as an extinct species of elephant by Georges Cuvier in 1796.The woolly mammoth was roughly the same size as modern African elephants. Males reached shoulder heights between 2.7 and 3.4 m and weighed up to 6 metric tons. Females reached 2.6–2.9 m in shoulder heights and weighed up to 4 metric tons. A newborn calf weighed about 90 kg .The woolly mammoth was well adapted to the cold environment during the last ice age. It was covered in fur, with an outer covering of long guard hairs and a shorter undercoat. The colour of the coat varied from dark to light. The ears and tail were short to minimise frostbite and heat loss. It had long, curved tusks and four molars, which were replaced six times during the lifetime of an individual. Its behaviour was similar to that of modern elephants, and it used its tusks and trunk for manipulating objects, fighting, and foraging. The diet of the woolly mammoth was mainly grasses and sedges. Individuals could probably reach the age of 60. Its habitat was the mammoth steppe, which stretched across northern Eurasia and North America. The woolly mammoth coexisted with early humans, who used its bones and tusks for making art, tools, and dwellings, and hunted the species for food. The population of woolly mammoths declined at the end of the Pleistocene, disappearing on mainland Siberia around 3.9 to 4 thousand years ago while isolated populations survived on St. Paul Island until 5,600 years ago and on Wrangel Island until 4,000 years ago. After its extinction, humans continued using its ivory as a raw material, a tradition that continues today. With a genome project for the mammoth completed in 2015, it has been proposed the species could be revived through various means, but none of the methods proposed are yet feasible

48. SPRITE Sprite are magical creatures mostly associated with fairies, but they are mainly assigned to various elementals, therefore they are also known as elemental spirits (e.g water sprites, tree sprites e.t.c) Some legends have it that Sprites take pleasure in causing havoc/splitting up people then fixing things up again (bringing them back together) Now you wonder why that drink is named “SPRITE”

Geepee77:Who said HOMEMADE FOOD is bad if you’re doing it right?!..... mind I tell you those fancy can foods and all have some additives/preservatives which at the long run might have an effect on your k9,homemade food is still the best if you do it right (supply your dog with all necessary nutrients not EBA OO) |
Bro, trust me when I say it ain’t easy but then the passion we’ve got for these wonderful beings keeps us going. The best way is to stay on homemade food and of course protein Issa must so you might want to start rearing catfish or better still get local fowls (if your area permits them) before you know it you’ll have a lot of them at hand and getting meat for your k9s will be much more easier as the local fowls require low cost maintenance |

11 DID YOU KNOW? Quail eggs helps prevent kidney, liver, and gallbladder stones. The nutritional value of quail eggs is much higher than those offered by other eggs as they are rich sources of antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins, and give us a lot of nutrition than do other foods

10. DID YOU KNOW?! That Molting in birds (generally) is a good indicator of mating season. At the beginning of the mating season, birds lose their feathers only to develop new brighter and colorful feathers and as they get closer to the end of the season they shed their feathers once more and develop a drab/less colorful plumage

Adeniyi9462:You’re welcome |
Adeniyi9462:Coughs and wheezing are quite deadly, pls consult a vet Severe cases might result in suffocation/death I once overlooked it back then it was new to me too |
Sammech:Thing is almost every dog owner is facing that issue (neighbor’s complaining) luckily for me I don’t live in a rented apartment but still even with the fact that I raise my dogs on private property; there’s hate everywhere around us but I don’t give a damn really.....Dogs especially the type you got are not meant to stay quiet/mute (even when they mature security-conscious dogs rely solely on their barks to fend off intruders/strangers) so in your case you really can’t help it, it’s either you live with the complaint or you simply take the dog out of that premises. A similar incident happened to a friend of mine she happens to be a student living in a hostel, just recently she brought an Eskimo pup to her hostel and since then she’s been the talk of the block; until she returned the pup when they threatened to call a meeting with the landlord. |
Sammech:You’ve got to learn how to ignore when your attention is not really needed or else you end up with a spoilt pup....(I hope you get what I mean) It is natural for them to whine at that age but sometimes it’s best to ignore this as long as the pup is safe because if it notice you keep running over anytime it whines trust me it’ll keep doing it even till adulthood just to get your attention. |
47. BUNYIP The bunyip is a creature from the aboriginal mythology of southeastern Australia, said to lurk in swamps, billabongs, creeks, riverbeds, and waterholes. The bunyips are presumably described as seen by witnesses to resemble seals or swimming dogs, and about 20% of the sightings are of long-necked creatures with small heads; the remaining descriptions are ambiguous beyond categorisation. The seal-dog variety is most often described as being between 4 and 6 feet long with a shaggy black or brown coat. Legends tell of a creature with round heads resembling a bulldog, prominent ears, no tail, and whiskers like a seal or otter. The long-necked variety is allegedly between 5 and 15 feet long, and is said to have black or brown fur, large ears, small tusks, a head like a horse or emu, an elongated, maned neck about three feet long and with many folds of skin, and a horse-like tail. The bunyip has been described by natives as amphibious, nocturnal, and inhabiting lakes, rivers, and swamps. Bunyips, according to myths can swim swiftly with fins or flippers, have a loud roaring call, and feed on crayfish, though some legends portray them as bloodthirsty predators of humans, particularly women and children. Bunyip eggs areknown to be laid in platypus nests. The bunyip appears in Ngarrindjeri dreaming as a water spirit called the Mulyawonk, which would get anyone who took more than their fair share of fish from the waterways or take children if they got too close to the water.

Just a friendly reminder, we still have foreign ducks in stock If you need em,dm |
odoemena2020:I don't like being judgy and I'm not judging you either (don't quote me wrong) but that's not a good excuse sir, you don't cross a dog for crossing sake there should be sth you're trying to achieve at the end of the day (don't mind me but from what I deducted from your explanation even if it was a Rottweiler that was available you would've opt for it) My point is its not just about crossing, it's more about the results.Breeding should be intentional not coincidental. I hope your puppies come out fine (Do post pics of their development) |
Maxitomxane:Lol almost everyone did The original breed is called TRANSLYVANIA/TURKEN CHICKEN while this ones (HAP-2 TURKEN) are improvised strains of the original breed...much bigger than the former |
The HAP-2 turken breed is a breed of chicken bred from the original Romanian Translyvania chicken known to be well adapted to harsh conditions, they are capable of withstanding a high level of heat and they are good source of meat and produce eggs all year round. The HAP-2 TURKEN breed happens to be in two strains The broiler strain and the layer strain The broiler strain was derived by crossing the red Transylvania chicken with broiler chickens resulting in a much more bigger strain of birds in terms of meat and bigger eggs slightly bigger than that of a duck/turkey. The layer strain was achieved by crossing the red/brown Transylvania with black and brown-sttiped arco layers. The resulting offsprings produce more eggs (n terms of quantity and size) compared to the parent stock although the size of the eggs cannot be compared to that of the broiler strain. To know more about the breed check out the thread below https://www.nairaland.com/6826565/hap-2-turken-chickens

Hi guys, so today on a visit to HAP FARMS I was opportuned to see the legendary HAP-2 TURKEN CHICKEN in a bid to widen my knowledge of the new breed of chicken. The HAP-2 turken breed is an improved breed of chicken bred from the original Romanian Translyvania chicken known to be well adapted to harsh conditions, they are capable of withstanding a high level of heat and they are good source of meat and produce eggs all year round. At the end of the day, I couldn't help but fall in love with the size of this birdsa much that i had to get some for myself NOTE:The HAP-2 Turken chicks were developed by HAP FARMS and they're also into many other livestock breeding programs including hyla rabbits breeding program, Pure strain Turken chicken program, Broiler breeding programs and also Fish farming. (Below are some pictures I took while on the farm, I didn't take much as I was so lost in the wonderful creatures on the farm) Pic 1&2- Male HAP-2 Turken chicken Pic 3 & 4 - pure strain Transylvania chicken
