The most painful and evergreen death is that of my eldest brother who died of stomach ulcer on june 12,2007 aged 28. His being the first death of a close family member really shook me for close to 3years.

Also lost my Surest aunt in 2010 to heart related issues.

The most recent is that of 2 of my friends-Yakub Yussuf aka YSF(a former Fac mate in Unilag who died July 2014 of throat cancer) and Tola Nuga who died in an accident( Dec 27th 2014) while coming from Lekki.

I weep the most when i think of people who are alive now but will still die,people who are agile now but will grow old and die and myself,that i would eventually die one day.

People asking for medications for some random person-without having even seen their doctor!!

I mean how far are you sure that you actually have ulcer? It is not somethingyou diagnose yourself simply because you have "hunger pangs" whenever you dont eat on time or  becauseyou have the occasional,random tummy upsets.

I know people use the word loosely,but ulcer guys, is a MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS.

As for the medications & the triple therapy this person is referring to-its for Helicobacter Pylori associated gastritis ( in layman's language, a kind of "ulcer",if you will,but i use the term "ulcer" here quite guardedly,cos technically it is not an ulcer as such)

and anyway,that still has to be diagnosed & confirmed through tests as well,plus the drugs should only be prescribed by your doctor.

Truth be told,the ideal treatment for true ulcers should be proton pump inhibitors & anti H2 receptor blockers- which again SHOULD ONLY BE PRESCRIBED BY A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL AFTER TESTS HAVE CONFIRMED TEH EXISTENCE OF AN ULCER.

So before you guys start self-medicating & abusing drugs (which of course have side-effects),if you're truly concerned or worried that you have an ulcer,then your very first port of call should be a doctor.

@ oops it is called "differential diagnosis"if only medical personnel can be humble enough to seek the opinion of other colleagues. A female friend of mine was so sick with severe abdominal pains that left her sleepless for more than one week and unable to attend lecture. She went for treatment at university of calabar teaching hospital were she did a scan and all manner of test the doctors told her she has" pelvic inflammatory disease" and gave her high doses of antibiotics and pain relievers but to no avail. This girl suffered and almost died of abdominal pains so I asked her to go to a private lab. And do a simple text known as "H pillory" used in detecting peptic ulcer, when the result came out it was positive, but the doctors in unical could not noticed this differential diagnosis. I prescribe antacids for her and gave her medical advice on the dos and Dons of peptic ulcer, and since that day that problem ended. Most times you just need to try another medical personnel.

pls how is it diagnosed?

If your peptic ulcer doesn't heal after several rounds of medication its because you're either taking the wrong medication or wrong combination of them.
Amoxicillin is not very effective to treat h.pylori which is the main bacteria preventing your ulcer from healing. Clarithromycin is a better alternative. A triple therapy of:
Clarithromycin 500mg twice daily
Metronidazole 400mg 3 times daily and
Omeprazole 20mg twice daily
All for 2 weeks, followed by 20mg daily dose of Omeprazole for another 2 weeks should be able to clear infection and ensure a smooth healing process.

Yes you made it ultimately and were also gracious enough to remember the woman in your life when it was bad.
