Jennifer663:
The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has convicted and sentenced Senator Peter Nwaoboshi to seven years imprisonment for money laundering.

In the judgment delivered by Hon. Justice Abdullahi Mahmud Bayero and affirmed by Justices Obande Festus Ogbujinya and Peter O. Affen, the court also ordered that the two companies of the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly be wound up.

The Nigerian Senate led by Ahmad Lawan passed the Electricity Bill, 2022 on Wednesday.

It was passed following the Committee on Power’s examination of a report.

Senator Gabriel Suswam (PDP, Benue North East), Chairman of the Committee, stated in his presentation that the bill aspires to, among other things, offer an ideal legal and institutional framework to exploit the modest advantages of Nigeria’s privatisation phase of the electric power industry.
this man will contest for another term in senate next year.

Education › Re: Abia Poly Loses Accreditation Over Unpaid Salaries by sageb: 9:02am On Jul 20, 2022
Guzel:
The National Board for Technical Education, on Tuesday, announced the withdrawal of the accreditation status of the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, due to the non-payment of staff salaries and allowances for over 30 months.

This was contained in a statement by the NBTE’s Head, Media Department, Fatima Abubakar, in Kaduna State.

It said the Board took the decision when it realised that the management of the polytechnic was not committed to upsetting the arrears and ensuring regular payment of salaries of its workers.

The Board said that, on several occasions, it had warned the management of the institution, noting that “regular payment of salary is one of the key components of the Board’s normative instruments for quality assurance in the polytechnics, and Technical & Vocational Education and Training institutions under her purview.

“The Board had drawn the attention of the polytechnic to the dangers of non-payment of salaries, including the suspension of quality assurance visits.

“The Governing Council and management of the polytechnic made several failed promises to settle the backlog of salary arrears and ensure regular payment of staff salaries.

“The Board went the extra mile of writing His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, informing him of the dire situation of the polytechnic but all to no avail.”

Against the backdrop, the Board said it had no option but to withdraw the accreditation status of the polytechnic just to safeguard the quality assurance mechanism of the Board as well as to ensure that students were not left at the mercy of demoralised staff that might resort to ‘under the table’ practices to survive.

Meanwhile, the Board has warned the National Youth Service Corps that “no product of the Abia State Polytechnic should be mobilised for national service until the management of the polytechnic resolves the issue of nonpayment of salary to its staffers, while the Board promised to notify the NYSC once the accreditation status of the polytechnic is restored.”

Besides, the Board said notice of the withdrawal of the accreditation of the polytechnic had been sent to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund and Industrial Training Fund in order to stop any official transaction with the polytechnic by those organisations.

“Polytechnic proprietors across the country are advised to take regular payment of salaries of staff seriously as failure could lead to loss of accreditation,” it added.

I guess those living in Lagos have an advantage over those in other states. Akwa ibom state has been the worst hit with regards to unemployment. In uyo, the only job you can do is to be a private school teacher with as low as 15k monthly. After service in 2018, I worked in a private school on a pay of 16k. It couldn't do anything. So I resigned after a year and six months. I rode keke in town for about 3 years...till I got tired. I put it aside. I want to learn a skill. Akwa is the worst. Life generally is hard.

REDInks:
You cannot explain It

when they say Hi,
How are you?, You say fine
But are you?
So you tell yourself quickly
I cannot explain this feeling
when I wake up with no zeal
no excitement, nothing brings appeal
to this raging thoughts of despair
So you hid the raging pain like dirty underwear.

When they say why
You reply why me?, Why this?
God gives his soldiers the toughest battles
who said you wanted a uniform with troubles
who said you were not comfortable unrattled
so when the first one left
you said it's well
well enough till the next one left
you stay alone and wept
you flourished in your fears
That soon another bond would be severed
and how right you were
so you ask again
Why me?, but all you get is a loud silence

When they say what's up?
You aks who's up?, They reply with what's down
You say the loved ones you let down...
You rephrase the loved ones cut down...
Cut down before you could plead for a showdown
but death doesn't fight fair
so he snatched your daughter when you were unaware instead
killed your brother while he slept
and now all you see when you look at dirt
is the pathway that leads nowhere but hurt

When they say are you okay upstairs?
You ask what's left up there?
Memories of my daughter, brother and sisters
A vivid picture of me losing to their killers....

Rest in Peace Ada Ameh

Of course, you can't. No, I organised governorship debate and I ran a governorship campaign to top 4 of 45 candidates, all in Akwa Ibom. And I'm sure you've seen me post receipts in March this year.

I also tell you in all confidence that APC candidates in the South South and South East are not campaigning for Tinubu, at least not openly. The senatorial district and federal house of representatives candidates were all rooting for Osinbajo. He was very sellable in the south. I have openly challenged that anyone in these areas should point out just one APC candidate who is campaigning for Tinubu openly. Just one.

I should know since I've been contracted to develop digital media files by one or two, and I relate directly with a couple of them.

But stick to your emojis.

While growing up, akwa Ibom guys are usually the first to rush after their girls and help groom them into hot babes ( just like the sexy akwa Ibom girl in the pictures below). But once these girls grow and develop into hot big girls, their guys are known to chicken out...leaving their girls for Yoruba or Igbo guys to lavish.

What could be the reason for this? Is it complex issue or due to intimidation from other bigger boys....

A video showing the moment the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke, prostrated for Adedeji Adeleke, father of Nigerian singer, Davido after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared him winner of the Osun governorship election has surfaced on social media.

Recall, the Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, announced that Adeleke got a total of 403,371 votes, beating the incumbent, Adegboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, who got 375,027 votes in a keenly contested race.

He said, “I declare Adeleke Ademola Jackson Nurudeen, on behalf of the chairman of INEC, of the PDP, having satisfied the requirement of the law, is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected.”

According to the total votes recorded by the electoral umpire, the PDP won 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas of the state, while the APC won the remaining 13.

The PDP won in Ede North, Ede South, Ifelodun, Boluwaduro, Egbedore, Odo Otin, Osogbo, Ila, Atakumosa West, Olorunda, Ilesa West, Obokun, Oriade, Orolu, Ife North, Irepodun, and Ejigbo LGAs.

Reacting to the announcement, Ademola in excitement immediately went down on the floor, prostrating to his brother.
It is pleasant to see Brothers dwell in unity.

It's easier to succeed in life with the right families and friends

The Adeleke family have been pulling each other up like a true family regardless of their differences

As an unapologetic commited APC and stuanch Tinubu fan,. I must say the Adeleke win in Osun is truly well deserved and inspirational unlike Oyetola , Aregbesola and Omisore that went into battle with disunity

Isiaka Adeleke sherubawon was one of the few people that fought for Osun State creation and he was the first civilian Governor, again he was among the hero's of June 12, when he died his people rewarded his brother with the Senatorial seat

Ademola Adeleke lost 2018 Election by less than mere 500 votes based on INEC laws technicalities, Lack of Basic Educational Certificate and inexperience...

Adeleke took his loss with resilience and went back to school to get an associate degree in US,he gave many poor Osun indegenes scholarship in AU, he came back to contest a better man and won with over 35,000 votes over an incumbent

.
That's the spirit
congratulations to the dancing senator now incoming Governor.
