illicit: Let nobody preserve me
No funeral, just a funeral procession precisely
Give me a silent minute
For I was a Speaker at college
Do bring the Mace from my Department
Just In case my mum and sisters still live
A wake keeping will be very nice
But let nobody fry puff-puff
I will prefer Muffin
I will also need a wood coffin
Dress me in white
The hue matters but not the textile
As I am immaterial
And now immateriel
No clergy or clergies pls
Cos I am neither going to heaven
Nor going to hell
I just wanna be like leaves and any dead organic
So plant Me
Plant me in a vine
Of Sweet Potatoes
Creeping Tomatoes
I will remain in earth
My epitaph should just read my name
Please no dates
No titles
No appellations

Stephenomozzy: Hmmm... I can understand your plight Sir!
First, I must commend your desire to want to do more by learning more so you're not dependent on just patronage from the school (now and post-covid).
I'm not a psychiatrist,
One other advise I can share, what services do/did you offer in your business?
Was iy limited to just typesetting, photocopying and maybe passports? If yes.. Then it will be difficult to ask that you take your Services online.
But you can learn other skills though,
1. Soft skills if you're a tech savvy person i.e Graphics design and Printing (even as a middle man - online and offline you may need to intern at a print shop);
2. Crafts - Depending on the time you have... You can learn Phone and Computer Repairs (Servicing and Maintenance), you can even learn Air Conditioner Servicing, Mechanic (Electricals), if it's not already saturated in your area.. You can learn to sew suits or make shoes..... lucidly said, the op should consider any of the skills listed above. |

Family › Re: Letter To Young People. by sageb: 4:51pm On Sep 12, 2020 |
Blackpearlous: I have been reading post from young people, depressed and not just getting it, I swear it's very emotional, I actually shed a tear or two. Sometimes I wish there is a place we can all meet in the evening talk about our issues and encourage each other for better days ahead.
I'm young too and have made mistakes I wish I never did, but they happened and I had to build from there. I am not there yet but there something in my mind that has been built that makes me see all what is going on now as a PROCESS but I won't lie to you somedays I get overwhelmed and just break down and cry, somedays I get it.
What I learnt is that when I say I get it, it doesn't mean I don't feel insecure, unsure, afraid, intimated, weak, shallow, stupid and overly ignorant of the future but in my weaknesses I know I will get SOMEDAY.
Lemme share something's that have fortified my mind.
1) great people didn't get great overnight.
I swear check Tyler Perry na, where you are going is not magic that will get you there, these people missed it, got it, missed it again. Life na zig zag.
2) invest in your mind
There is nothing you can't unlearn or learn, if you have a problem with gambling you can fix it, I swear its not beyond you only if you don't want to fix it, if you need to lose weigh you can, it's your life you can edit anything you want.
3) problems are inevitable.
Just choose your problem, if you don't invest in yourself you will have problems, if you do you will have problems from investing.bif you hustle problem if you don't hustle problem.
4) Everyone is wearing a social mask.
Stop comparing yourself with someone else's social mask, you most def don't look like your problems completely, same as your colleague, we all have issues but you know yourself more than you know me so you will compare your true self with my own social self, that a recipe for depression. As I dey type I no too dey ok, you will think I'm better. So face your problem.
5) time will go whether or not you do anything.
Use time well, if you like pity yourself for ten years or take control of your life for ten years, ten years will pass. Go and learn a skill no matter what, weda it's to fix tiles or plumbing just spend time well.
It's too long ba? No vex. Lastly abeg dey read or listen to better people or change your circle, admire better people.
I love you guys. See you at the top! so true, it is not easy but we move ahead anyway. |

0pposite: Please help me with your inputs. I gained admission and studied Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state. This was between 2015 to 2019. In early 2020, I was doing my clearance at school preparing for service before the Covid19 struck and everything education has been put on hold since then. Now I want to apply for a job,can I include Bsc. (In view) as part of my qualifications, so as to give it a little boost?
P/S: Other than my final year (second semester) course form, online result printout, school fee receipt, I.D card and my letter of admission, I have to other hardcopy evidence that I finished the university. No statement of result or whatever has been offered to us yet by the school cos we were still in the clearance stage.
Please advice me in this regard. hello tuskite, put the "in view" so they will know your qualification. You should know how uyo is, the employer will ask you "what have you been doing in the past years?" I encountered a similar situation like you during the ASUU strike years ago. |

Twinkletwin17: you may get to wonder who really is behind the moniker "twinkletwin 17"? why is he always begging? What is wrong with him? Actually according to what people say according to reality I am a very handsome young man fair a bit not short normal hight very obedient loyal and gentle My innocent look and smile often cover most of my pain. I have no disability But I was from a broken home Which it's something that affect and hunt me since birth. I never really had any family of my own I was left alone from childhood taking care of myself. I am actually intelligent but life robbed me of the opportunity of going to school. But struggle to survive never made me join any illegal activities But in a simple way life is not fair. I sleep wherever I go finding food or work Until this year I was able to get at least a manageable room at the rate of 15k yearly That was really the only roof I can call my own I work hard I do any type of little work I see but funny enough nature always deprive me of getting works or help due to my good looks and gentility people believe I am too soft to do their work so no matter how hard I try the only thing that workout is people like smiling for me and people likes my way of life. Life is getting difficult day by day No work nobody to look up to and rent has expired. I can't finish the story of my life it hurts being me The only thing that keeps me going is the kindness some nairalander show to me. But the thing is parents please don't promote broken relationship Broken marriage Broken homes You may die but your kids are not doing well We are deprived of the love from parents It hunts us and we can't breathe freely The weight of the world is on our shoulders too early. Note this post has no intention of praising myself but to tell you a short story about me and to help communicate the disadvantages of broken homes on kids. where do you reside and what kind of job are you looking for? |
