How can operators of under-aged brothel walk free? I kept repeating this word in my head and the only answer to this question was very simple, I failed my mission, the judiciary system failed, the police failed, the Rivers State Government failed, the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons failed and Nigerians failed to protect this little children.
My mission started on August 12 2022, while driving to Mile 3 around 8 something. 2 girls ran to my car and the following happen
Girl 1: Mum please help us mum please
Girl 2: Ma please, I use God beg you ma
Me: what is it, who are you
Girl 2: please ma, mama Gold will beat us for running away ma
I now opened the back door for them to enter, girl 1 shouted see IB O! Mum please drive fast or the will see us.
The best script writers can't come up with the stories both girls told me, how they are forced to sleep with 20-30 men a day, how those who run away are beaten up or how they are used for entertainment by the owner of the brothel or how they are used to borrow money.
So I took both girls to the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons office to report what happened and that when I heard that Most of this girls are victims of kidnappings and that the police are protecting the brothels owners.

Unfortunately the girls were freed and returned back to their madam, after the brothel owner paid millions.
My life is in danger, because my personal phone number and address was licked by National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons to members of the under-aged brothel owner.
So if anything should happen to me, Nairaland should please hold the following people responsible O! Because Mile 3 and Mile 1 police station are working with them too, I tried to report this issue to the state command and I was asked to bring 500k 1st

The simultaneous appearance of Nyesom Wike on some national television in Nigeria earlier today is a sad reminder of the misfortune that the people of Rivers State have suffered in having an unstable mind and a prodigal head as the Governor of the State for the past 8 years. In the end, all that the indecorous Wike achieved was to buy precious media time to vent his spleen on fellow Nigerians who are more qualified than him to be Governors in Nigeria

Hallucinated by the patrimonial resources of the good, but impoverished people of Rivers State, Wike has turned himself into a depraved interloper, who probably out of schizophrenic impulse engage in pitiable melodrama whenever he steps away from the intoxication of his bottle companions. He has suddenly become the self-appointed public office regulator, who could determine what would happen in states not in any way contiguous to his colonised State.

On recovering from his inebriation, Wike should be reminded that Kogi is not Rivers, and the people of Kogi State would not worship any foreign God. Above all, Wike should also understand that power belongs to God, and he gives it to whoever he wants, even the basest of men. And but for this absolute and indiscriminate dispensation by God, how did a conceited person like Nyesom Wike become a governor? Is it his oratory, diligence, finesse, wealth or intellectual endowment?

Today, Wike can take a swipe at me, and mark me down as unqualified to govern my state, but has he forgotten that he believed my Gubernatorial aspiration in 2019? Can he be reminded that I have served as a member of the Federal House of Representatives and have also been elected twice into the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

I can understand the pain of Wike. He wanted my support for his misplaced aspiration to become the Flagbearer of the People's Democratic Party in the 2023 Presidential election, but knowing his avowed credential to be eminently unworthy of the ticket I deployed support for His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, a cosmopolitan and cultured statesman who ignored all the tantrums of Wike throughout the period of the election. Wike is probably mistaken me for His Excellency Atiku Abubakar. He needs to appreciate that now that he has touched the tiger's tail and murdered sleep, the discomfort of a bird perched on a rope has now become his portion.

If Wike were a reflective mind he should now be more concerned about his post-tenure survival, because with the recklessness he exhibited in mismanaging the resources of Rivers State, his prison uniform must have been sewn and his inmate number must be waiting for his allocation. As for me I will not only continue to savour my freedom, I will be sending relief assistance to Wike from Government House Lokoja, by the grace of God.

The indiscretion and war of attrition embarked on by Wike contributed to the public perception of our great Party. He sees nothing good in the Leadership of the Party, yet he can not move to another Party, because which Party will accept Wike in his irredeemable state of ignominious liability

As the good people of Kogi State prepare for the Gubernatorial election, the choice is theirs to make. All the evil machinations and self-destructive conduct of Wike will fail. I have neither sought for nor expected support from Wike. My aspiration is on course. The least I will spare time is distractions from the contentions of the untamed tongue of Wike. As I move forward, I'm guided by the Scriptural invocation:

For the Lord God will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

He is near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who is My adversary? Let him come near Me.

Honestly, it's so disappointing that after several years, Bayelsa state is still very much underdeveloped; this is in spite the oil resources. Just one major road in the state capital! The attitude and mindset of the people does help. An attitude of "so long as the gov or that LG chairman or that man in authority is our brother and is eating our money, we don't have any problems with that"

When you travel to the riverine parts of that state, you will want to weep. Some communities, the well water is like Fanta colour. They drink it and cook with it. God is wonderful. Just like someone mentioned, a state of less than 4m people with huge oil wealth, still in that condition, is really appalling. To think that that state was created same time as Akwa Ibom is funny; when you compare the level of development in Akwa Ibom to that of Bayelsa.

Successive leadership failure (since 1999 to date) and terrible mindset/attitude of the people has continue short-changed the progress of Bayelsa state.

Akwa Ibom state was created in 1987 whereas Bayelsa was created in 1996.

I'm from Akwa Ibom, and I can tell you for sure that the cost of living in Uyo is high, and there are no jobs. I'm an accountant based in Abuja and would advise you to relocate to Abuja instead. You can get an apartment in a suburb for as low as 75k. As an accountant, you can get a job with a starting pay as low as 80k and grow from there, as long as you can use MS Excel. Also, the cost of living in Abuja is manageable if you know where to get your groceries and how to manage your expenses.

Am from akwa ibom state but I based in Port Harcourt. Let me be sincere to you there is no job in akwa ibom state the only jobs there are govt jobs which u will need connection. My advice:
1. Relocate to Port Harcourt. They are more jobs in pH. Infact pH is second after Lagos State in terms of private company jobs.
2. People staying in uyo are mostly govt workers. Cost of living in uyo is cheap compare to pH.
